Alright hear me out. What if you are all right? WHAT IF! terrorists built the metal gear from the beginning of metal gear rising and set the cathedral on fire as a distraction so they can get it up and running. Then at some point in the near future it's going to explode out of the ruins of the cathedral and cause mayhem and on Easter Jesus will come back and fight the metal gear raiden style. This is clearly the most logical outcome.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of The Hunchback of Notre Dame the Good? I thought not. It's not a story the French would tell you. It's a Church legend. The Hunchback of Notre Dame was a friend of the Church, so good and so caring he could use his strength to save lives… He had such a knowledge of the good in people's hearts that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The pursuit of love is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so strong… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his Chapel, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he saved everyone from the fire, and then could not escape at the last moment. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
