The civil war is finally at its showdown. To the East stands the Sillaran People's Union, a military stratocracy, the same that did a coup on the government that tried to dissolve the Federation. To the West stands the 2nd Republican Army of Sillara, officially a Big Tent party but primarily comprised of Social Radicals (Progressives but a bit more radical). Funnily enough, these two groups fought against each other in the Second Civil War. The odds of either side winning are equal.
Will the People's Union finally crush the fanatic Republican army, or will the Winds of Change blow across the nation?
Most analysts expect that the war will be over within a week.
Is this because the two factions lack the capability of sustaining a long campaign? Something like where the nation has the resources to conduct a war, but the access to them is split unequally between two forces (one has access to lots of fuel but not enough water, while the other has plenty of water but not enough fuel to distribute).
Yeah, we extract a large amount of our resources in our desert, and it is much harder to extract those resources in a war so a lot of troops are under-equipped as we cannot produce enough equipment to supply most of our troops, weirdly enough though it seems that the 2nd Republican Army has a large tank force that could be used for breakthroughs, the way that they supply these tanks is unknown. The People's Union has a large partisan organisation in more conservative areas in the Republican territory and if there were to be a large uprising, the Republicans could collapse. But if the Republican tanks are effective the war could end quite quickly.

I disagree. There is a difference in ideology: Open borders, defunding police, abortion, wealth redistribution, prison reform, etc.
Also, the American Military-Industrial complex lost a large market when President Biden surrendered to the Talban. So, another market had to be established for American weapons in the Ukraine. Vice-President Harris will work to continue weapons sales by finding other markets, even if a truce is established in the Ukraine war. Trump is not beholden to the Military-Industrial Complex, but he does endorse deficit spending, and a powerful central government. So, in that regards, their ideology is the same.
