Protecting it's members form foreign imperialsim and agression. Equality.
UDAT is a defensive alliance between (currently) 5 nations in Thaecia (and maybe Ambaskow in Europeia). It was formed in the wake of Fralincia's war on Yalnkraine, and the current members are Yalnkraine, Saltmore, The Ambis, Flipistan, and Orang Moku.
Edit: Yeah as Filipistan said, it stands for United Defensive Allies of Thaecia and it is to protect its members from outside rule or imperialism and aggression.

The torpedo incident was a freak accident, the torpedo blew up in the submarine and resulted in the death of the crew as well as the civilians. Fralincia intended no civilian casualties in their attacks, and therefore would not authorize the launch of any torpedoes without punishment towards the ships captain
