Upon seeing it, one question sprang to mind. Does this imply that Actias is now in coalition with FREE? On the Discord server, he told me that it was because he had the support and backing of FREE, by there was no formal coalition. Ok, so FREE have given Actias their support. Let’s turn to them.

The following is a quote from FREE’s manifesto:

“The Freedom Party of Thaecia stands in full opposition to the policy of Citizen's Recall. The party believes that, once a legislator is elected, the people are giving said legislator a mandate for the duration of their term…[and] that recalls should be limited strictly to situations of inactivity…”

Aside from the policy itself, this seems to contradict the motion sponsored by both FREE Senators, and supported by the party. Although this isn’t a citizens’ recall, the principle remains. Sevae isn’t inactive, and, according to FREE’s policy, has the mandate to serve for the entire term.

Senators, I urge you to vote against the motion of no confidence, else undermine the democratic functions of this region.

Ah yes preventing the people from choosing who makes the laws for them, the pinnacle of democracy. I hate it when the people the government is meant to be serving undermines democracy by removing government officials who aren't serving them. Very authoritarian.

Even Marvinville can say that there are many reasons to vote against this, but this is absolutely not one of them. It's astounding to me that your thought process is that FREE cannot support one thing and not the other- things that are very very mildly related for the record. No support of citizens being able to recall an individual is not the same as legislators removing a chamber leader. The only relation is it is someone leaving office. What's next, FREE opposes resignations? Besides this isn't even leaving office like a citizens recall is considering the dismissed leader is still a representative. Even less related and the argument made by Sunipi is even less relevant...

Maybe I should criticise TGP for supporting full direct democracy because they support one chamber direct one chamber representative. What do you mean, TGP doesn't support full direct democracy? Well they support something that has a mild relation to it. So therefore I am allowed to use that as a totally unrelated argument!
