Vote for Solittus as your first choice in the midterm election!

My name is Solittus and I am running in my first election in Thaecia for the Thaecian Globalist Party (TGP).

I understand that my lack of experience in this region could prove my downfall in this election but we’ve all got to start somewhere. Those in positions of high influence and authority will have started where I am now at some point. Their popularity didn’t grow immediately but at some stage some of YOU decided that you want someone new, someone different, someone who will make a change for the better. I would like to think that my campaign and experience in other regions will help me on my way, but all I’m asking is please don’t discredit me because I’m new. If I am elected, I will bring something new to Thaecia and strive to make a change for the better.

I am happy to answer any questions.

You can read my campaign dispatch and policies here:

About Me

Hello, my name is Solittus and I am running in my first election in Thaecia for the Thaecian Globalist Party!
As a member of this influential party, I strive to expand Thaecia's presence on the world stage.
While I am relatively new to Thaecia I have a lot of experience on NationStates, particularly in The Union of Fairer Nations.

My Policies

Here is a list of a few of my policies and ideas. As I gain experience, I will undoubtedly write bills to build a better Thaecia.

  • It is vital to maintain embassies and relationships between regions. This is not just for interregional co-operation but for matters of defence. A global Thaecia would be in a valuable position to deal with defence and matters of global importance.

  • I fully support Thaecia's current position with an independent military and would strive to ensure this does not change.

  • I believe that Congress should have less control of the military. Therefore, I am firmly in favour of the bill written by MP Sunipi to remove the requirement to inform the legislature about all defence operations - if it would be detrimental to the security of said operation.

  • I strongly oppose any form of an all citizen's legislature and thus would vote against one if it ever reached the HoC.

  • I firmly believe in the importance of recruitment and player retention, this is of the upmost importance to the survival of a region. Therefore, if I am elected, I would strive to ensure newcomer's are included in the game, feel welcome and understand NationStates and Thaecia as a region.

  • Without a shadow of a doubt, accountability is essential. Recall is very important and if I am elected I will support proposals that strive to effectively keep nations accountable and prevent bureaucracy.

hello

During the last election cycle, TGP promised us that they will enact citizenship and military reform but they failed to do either one of them. Why would you want to elect people who do not follow their promises?

The Freedom Party of Thaecia will bring real reforms to the region rather than vague wishes made by some other parties. These reforms can be found in this factbook:

Overview

FREE's Manifesto is all about getting things done. No vague proposals, no policies for areas such as foreign affairs, which aren't even under the House's control, no promising tons of things and getting none through, just straightforward policies.

In terms of legislation, The Freedom Party of Thaecia has 3 main goals for the upcoming legislature:

  1. Introducing a bill on the Regulamentation of Electoral Debates and Political Parties.

  2. Introducing a bill to Define Public and Private Institutions.

  3. Reforming the Congressional Investigation Act.

Detailing Our Policies

  1. Introducing a bill on the Regulamentation of Electoral Debates and Political Parties: Since the passing of the new constitution, what is and isn't an official political party is no longer fully clear. The Freedom Party of Thaecia wishes to introduce a bill to set in stone minimum requirements for the recognition of political parties and define their role in the political system of the region. The party also seeks to define how election debates are to be held and which format they are supposed to follow.

  2. Introducing a bill to Define Public and Private Institutions: The Freedom Party of Thaecia seek to propose legislation to define different types of entities, such as public and private entities, while at the same time establishing how far regional law extends to different types of organisations. An early draft of this bill has already been started, and you can check it out here.

  3. Reforming the Congressional Investigation Act: As it currently stands the Congressional Investigation Act has never been used, and is an outdated piece of legislation which we intend on reforming rather than leaving it abandoned, so as to ensure the legislature's ability to investigate remains operational.

Our Candidates

Feel free to reach out to any candidate individually for doubts regarding their individual campaigns.

Justice Ministry Post:

I would hereby like to congratulate Kava Dayne for passing the Thaecian Bar Exam. He has proven to posses adequate knowledge and capabilities around the laws of our region. As per his preference, he will be added to the list of Public Defenders.

Congratulations once more to Kava Dayne.
Enjoy the rest of your day to all,

Hello guys.

This time, I am not here to speak about me or even any candidates, for or against.

I have recently decided to leave the political party I am a part of (TGP) and cease any sort of involvement in party-related stuff in the region, especially in light of what happened 2 days ago.

What happened two days ago, was one of the worst episodes in our democracy, I would even argue it is the worst. Elections are a cornerstone of our democracy. Yet it was highly compromised in the last election, with votes allegedly and almost certainly being rigged to influence a certain result, in what was the lowest point in our politics.

And guess what led to that? Our highly charged-up and in most instances, toxic, partisan politics.

Partisan Politics has created deep divisions within our 60-70 active member region citizenry, something the region as a whole is suffering from. It has reached such a tipping point that almost all politicians now think more about helping their own party win or not, than about the best way in helping Thaecia grow. The Divisions have grown so deep that if someone from the outside of NS, looks at the arguments between the two political spectrums, they would be easily mistake it for a debate between two regions with conflicting ideologies, not a debate between two sides of the same region, who in the past, built this region up together!

I know most are shocked by the events two days ago, but looking closely at the trajectory partisan politics had been taking us, I would say this was inevitable. The dangers posed by our contemporary political environment has even started spreading to some of our precious of institutes, most notable, being the Election Commission.

Why should a TGP or FREE person brainstorm days and nights to defeat their fellow comrade in the region, rather than spending it on the welfare of the region. How long do we have to keep watching as the two main political blocs tear the region apart into two irreconcilable sides?

Make sure to ask this questions to yourself the next time you think about the politics in the region.

I'm really surprised TGP is spending DAYS to defeat us in elections, cause we certainly aren't, we are pretty casual.

Here's a thought: Just say no to parties and be an independent that gets elected on ideas and actual record of service as opposed to partisan affiliation.

Toxic activity should not be an acceptable alternative to non-toxic activity

Partisanship in Thaecia always ends up alienating someone unfortunately

Miharr, Xernon, and Primo order

Thaecia's most inactive and just generally not fun times were those in which we rejected parties. Parties are a great concept which brings activity to this region, even if they bring some toxicity as a result of those who dedicate way too much time into this game.

Until anyone comes up with a better alternative, parties will continue to be one of the pillars of thaecian politics.

Drama. Spying. Corruption.

Thaecia has had enough of it.

Vote for decency. Vote for Dendrobium.
No funny business, no hollow lies, no messing around.
Just professionalism, honesty and quality.

I'm not really sure I buy much of that. Parties will always be available for people to join. It is part of their freedom of expression. Having said that, I don't think hyper-partisan politics is helpful. Any activity it generates is essentially a mirage that hides and festers the divisions and polarization it brings about.

If people really want to move Thaecia forward, they should ditch the partisan associations, and while they are it, join the Executive. I respect NS legislatures, but at the end of the day, activity is not derived from passing a bill or negotiating an HoC coalition.

Hi Falconian republic, Chancalay, Falhario, welcome to Thaecia!

Welcome to Thaecia! I'm sure you'll have a great time with us here in NationStates, and the best way to do that is to get involved right away!

To make the most out of your time in Thaecia, you should join the World Assembly(WA) and endorse our President Andusre. If you need more information on how to join the WA or you want to apply for a position in the executive or even run for a seat in Congress, check out this Information Factbook. You should also consider joining the Thaecia Military if you have joined the WA, if you have any questions about the Thaecia Military send a telegram to Taungu. If you have time consider reading through the Law Registry for an overview of our laws. You should also consider joining our Regional Discord Server: https://discord.gg/RYgzby8

But most importantly, have fun! Get chatting to your fellow Thaecians on the Regional Message Board (RMB) or Discord to get to know a few of us. You'll feel right at home in no time!

If you have any questions or concerns you'd like us to help you with, don't hesitate to telegram Zon island or Xernon. Also, check out our Roleplay by using this link: https://discord.gg/MkhUm9JRKP

If you have any questions about roleplay, send a telegram to Islonia.

Quick question, what are some policy changes you want to see in Thaecia?
