What do you all think of this?

Indian Empire wrote:Okay, Inaugural College Football Playoff Rankings out and my hometown Cincinnati Bearcats are ranked #7. Whew. We've got a shot at the playoff. Just need to win out and a few losses. Let's see... Clemson, Florida losing isn't that hard, they each have conference championship games left... That leaves someone's Aggies in the way of glory for Cincinnati college football...

Time to root for the Aggies to lose every game from here on out to make sure it happens.

(I'm just going to tag Gig em Aggies because I know that if I don't he'll just show up ranting at me for wanting Texas A&M's demise anyway)

I'm not following you here I.E. did you just declare war?

Gig em Aggies wrote:I'm not following you here I.E. did you just declare war?

Well, the Bearcats need to uphold our half, if we don't it's game over, but I'm still hoping the Aggies drop one of three as it helps maximize our chances. Never thought the Auburn in me would say this, but Geaux Tigers this Saturday. I'll go for any chance we can get at another A&M loss.

Hi all!

Verner my lord’s 4th Cardiac Catheter Ablation procedure was successful. Two days after the procedure, he has a steady heartbeat again, his heart was no longer going into Cardiac Arrest and his left and right ventricular ejection fraction (heart function) has improved slightly. He was weaned from VA-ECMO on Sunday morning and weaned from all intravenous inotropic and other cardiac medications by Sunday night. Thereafter, he was moved to the Cardiac Ward for monitoring but he was discharged from hospital yesterday evening. We’re glad to have him back home with us and we’d like to thank everyone who prayed for him. We appreciate your prayers and support. :)

Queen Beruthiel wrote:I'll be thinking of your beloved and wishing him the best.

You need support as well. I hope you have kind people to support you. Even if it's by necessity socially distanced by telephone, I hope you have good friends and/or family members with an open ear and open heart.

Thank you Queen Beruthiel. <3

Thankfully, I do have a large extended family and some good friends who supported me during this time.

A very good prank/committed fan.

Yay Fort Verden!!!

Yay Quetzalleia!!!

Good job keeping him going Doc! We looked up that VA-ECMO deal; that is amazing and horrific at the same time. We are so glad Verner made it past yet another life-threatening event successfully! Please tell him he is fulfilling his wish to be an Elite Endurance Athlete for he just ran a marathon in that hospital and won! What a Champ!

Issues Test Bed, that monolith is pretty odd and kewl at the same time. Probably been sitting there since the filming of 2001. That would put it in 1968, that is a long time to go unnoticed.

Yay to The Salaxalans too! Dude! You got one! Hang onto it, it is going to be worth something someday. 🤠

Gald Verden is at home again. We are all pulling for him.

When he is well enough, have him check his trading cards. I left him a get well card. :)

P.S. Do we know this nation?

If so, one of my puppets has his trading card.

Happy Thanksgiving Texas! We hope everybody gets some good food today and gets to kick back and relax (that goes for our EuroTexan buddies as well)! Don't forget to take a minute to reflect on all you have to be thankful for, like family, friends, life, NationStates, football, whatever (not necessarily in that order)! Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!

Anybody going off the turkey playbook? For the last ten years or so, we have grown weary of years and years of turkey. We are giving turkeys a break this year. We are giving the main course a break and are being thankful for our bountiful pantry and are celebrating with Side Dishes only. We are doing mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and freshly-made cookies and brownies! But first, Bloody Marys as we finish the prep work and watch the parade!

How about you? What are you having for Thanksgiving Texas?

Happy Turkey day TX. For once, the Turkey Trot wasn't in freezing temps. 2020 got something right.

Happy Thanksgiving Texas!

Good day everyone,

it's a bit late to talk about Z-day, the annual zombie event. I am doing a survey for an article for a regional newspaper on what well-performing regions had in common. So lets get to the questions:

How would you rate your region's Z-day performance, on a scale of 1 to 5?

Did you have something like central nuclear command, and did people follow it a lot?

How populous was your region last Z-day?

Any Additional Answers are welcome and needed ^-^

Goodbye and have a nice day!

-Somebody.

I would rate our performance at a 3 out of 5. We had a central plan in place. As we've done for several years the residents are encouraged to follow the leadership of the Texas, Zombie Eradication Research Organization (T-ZERO). Our goal was to cure the nations of TX while keeping an eye out for anyone who is trying to mess with that plan.

We didn't do as well this year, which I think was largely due to the changes made to the 2020 version of zombies. I know many regions still held their own, so I'm not entirely sure what went wrong in TX. Not sure the population numbers. You'd have to talk with Big Tex about that.

Zombies... I HATE zombies...

I'll take it under advisement.

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen of Texas!

I am VERY glad to be alive and grateful to everyone in texas who prayed for my survival and recovery. Having said that, I am still recovering and therefore my Daily Posts and our Regional BINGO game that’s hosted by me will resume on the 1st of December. My apologies.

NewTexas wrote:We looked up that VA-ECMO deal; that is amazing and horrific at the same time.

Indeed. I am extremely glad ECMO kept me alive long enough to get better last year and this year. However, I hope I will never wind up requiring ECMO support again.

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

Leftovers Taco Time! Kidding, just kidding, all fresh! Saturday Breakfast In Place time! Bring out the Drones! The NewTexas Happy Taco Stands, in conjunction with the NewTexas Incendiary Corporation, has approximately 1 trillion of the fastest, lightest drones you have ever seen. This fleet is specially designed to deliver tacos to every man, woman, child, whatever, in Texas, all 2,371,006,000,000 of you.

For your dining pleasure, today's special breakfast will Saturday Thanksgiving Turkey & Egg & Cheese Tacos [COVID-19 Week XXXVI Edition]! This is your delicious morning wake-up call Texas! The Head Smoker of Taco Town has been up all night smoking turkeys seasoned with fajita seasoning just so we can shred them up for this delectable turkey and egg taco! 100% Texas born and bred wild turkeys plus Grade AA jumbo, free-range, farm-fresh, brown eggs, scrambled to perfection, equals breakfast taco heaven. These turkeys are super-juicy due to the injection process we incorporate into every turkey. The gently-shredded turkey meat is gently scrambled into the fluffy eggs for a big ol' mess of gentleness. To kick it up a notch, handfuls of gently-shredded Swiss cheese snuggled in there as well to complete this taco of gentleness. These three simple, expertly-prepared ingredients are hand-rolled in a hot, fresh flour tortilla made on the premises multiple times daily. Just that simple and delicious. Remember, a whole egg in every taco!®

Today's Special Salsa is not salsa at all but is - Turkey Giblet Gravy - about as simple as it gets, a gravy made out of a broth made from the giblets (neck, liver, heart, gizzard), the diced giblets themselves, diced boiled egg and all thickened with flour. For the taco traditionalists, a cup of Pico de Gallo is also included. The tacos are hermetically-sealed in a Stay-Warm® pouch that is wrapped in the same ol' aluminum foil we are all so familiar with for our breakfast taco. The Juice Bar will not be possible this week. But, for your beverage needs, a packet of Sanka, Tang and a Lipton Tea bag will be included with every delivery as well as salt and pepper and a napkin. Yes, it is different, but it works and you do not even have to leave your residence. Woo! And, watch out for the drones! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. You know you want to!®

Stay Safe Texas. Stay Well.

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is a great opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, we debate, we talk about the weather, we talk about stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff, and more stuff. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and talking about the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates at the moment. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 817 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 16¼ years! Check it out! Good stuff!

Vincent's Sunday Surprise Beverage Bonanza

Howdy Dudes and Dudettes of Texas!

Today's Sunday Surprise Beverage is Make - Your - Own - Beverage Day! I've got lots of Large Boxes full of drink making ingredients stacked up right here and I'm going to beam them directly into the home of every Texan in Texas. Everyone will receive a Large Box and it'll materialize on the table closest to you. With all the drink ingredients in your box you can make Orange-Ginger Pomegranate Punch, Apricot-Apple Cider, Spicy Cranberry Drink and Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Cider. There's enough ingredients to make 3 glasses of each drink. You can keep the Instructional Guide CD as my gift to you:

Make Your Own Beverage Drink Making Guide:

Orange-Ginger Pomegranate Punch

Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Cider

When blending drinks in your blender always add your ice at the end so it doesn't jam up the blender. Also if you've got alcohol in your house and you desire an alcoholic drink just mix your own booze into the beverages.

And today I've included a large container of Turkey Donuts in everyone's boxes too. Frosted chocolate donuts instantly become mini turkeys with the addition of bacon strip ‘feathers’ and edible candy eyes. Amazingly delicious! :)

I hope y'all enjoy today's Sunday Surprise Snack and Beverages Texans. Yeehaw! :)

Vincent
