**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Liberate Wonderful Paradise
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region

Category: Liberation Nominee (region): Wonderful Paradise Proposed by: Unibotian WA Mission

Description: The Security Council,

Having considered the following annotations:

Annot.1 Before the most recent invasion of Wonderful Paradise"

<see WA for full text>

Ok, the Security Council wants to liberate the region: Wonderful Paradise. This poor region has fallen under the scourge of Nazis. The only thing worse than Nazis are invaders. Well, this region has them both! Furthermore, all the locals have been ejected and it is being kept as some kind of "trophy", some kind of mockery. That is not nice. And, we think invaders suck. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was down on the last SC vote [Condemn Swarmlandia], which passed with 60.22% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 10 opinions expressed on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 1 FOR and 7 AGAINST and 2 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans mostly against that one due to unsubstantiated claims.

NewTexas is open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. All comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. *As always, the WA Delegate vote will be based on popular opinion.*

Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known by 11:00pm Tuesday as voting ends at 11:00pm Texas Time on Wednesday the 16th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 3914 Votes AGAINST: 599

PS: Don't forget to vote!

FOR the liberation.

We are changing our vote on the liberation to AGAINST, seeing as how only 3 nations reside in the region and one of those is the founder.

Beware the Ides of March.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"In Regards to Cloning
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights Strength: Mild Proposed by: Mahaj WA Seat

Description: DEFINES cloning as 'the creation of an organism"...

<see WA for full text>

The General Assembly has a new Cloning Resolution up for a vote. This one defines what clones are, who can make them and what rights clones have. Basically, if you have a right, so does your clone. It prohibits making clones second class or any other class citizens. This sounds fairly reasonable to us. If you are going to mess with cloning and clones, then you should probably treat them right. We would really not like to see clones created just to be experimented on. So, NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was up on the last GA vote [Permit Male Circumcision], which passed handily with 68.51% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 10 opinions expressed on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 8 FOR and 0 AGAINST and 3 ABSTAIN and 1 UNDECIDED. Texans mostly for Free Willy.

NewTexas is open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. All comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. *As always, the WA Delegate vote will be based on popular opinion.*

FOR the cloning resolution.

For cloning, against liberation that region was refounded a few days ago.

Wow! The Embassy feature is already released before the News item! See the technical forum topic: viewtopic.php?p=5065120

Hi Texas! I hope you don't mind me dropping off this bucket of nails and these boards. We got ourselves an embassy to build!

Black box recorder

What a waste of time to liberate a newly refounded region. This is typical for the WA bureaucracy. The player who proposed this resolution should have enough decency to withdraw this resolution.

It wasn't refounded when the resolution was put up for vote.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day from your friends in Ulthar. Our Spring Equinox Festival starts tomorrow and continues through the weekend. Feel free to visit and post about Texas on our RMB!

Thank you Patty! Happy Saint Patrick's Day to y'all too!

Nations requesting Embassies are going to have to go through the traditional vetting process although some no-brainers may receive fast-track approval due to having prior relations with Texas through their nations. We do know that we will not be approving of any one nation regions, period. And especially not regions that were founded less than 48 hours ago by a nation created less than 48 hours ago (looks at United Free Enterprise Nations). The approval process will be greatly assisted by an introductory letter versus a cold call button-push from out of the blue. Once a new Texas Secretary of State is elected on Sunday, proceedings will begin. Thank you.

we ought to set up an embassy with Discordia. yes, my former region, rather susceptible to invasion, but a nice group of sods nonetheless.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Commend Crazy girl
A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

Category: Commendation Nominee: Crazy girl Proposed by: Sedgistan

Description: The World Assembly,

Aware that Crazy Girl was founded in early 2003"...

<see WA for full text>

We have a new Security Council Resolution to Commend the nation, Crazy Girl. This one is authored by a Texan no less using their WA nation located in another region. While the nation of Crazy Girl is certainly old, we only just met them until a couple of weeks ago. We do seem to have several common friends. As a matter of fact, they seem to have a lot of friends, perhaps through their time with the ADN and/or their long residency in The Rejected Realms. The author cites some reasons for commending them, first and foremost, it seems, is their Defender status. While admirable, is that commendable? We don't know. Additional commendable actions seem to revolve around The Rejected Realms. Keeping that place "nice" in its early days was a formidable task. Nothing but the worse of the worst were there. Now, nations actually go there to live versus the traditional method of arrival. Now, that is commendable! NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response rate was flat on the last SC vote [Liberate Wonderful Paradise], which passed handily with 83.18% of the vote despite the snafu. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 10 opinions expressed on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 5 FOR and 4 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 1 UNDECIDED. Texans were pretty split, mostly due to the the region liberating itself.

NewTexas is open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. All comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. *As always, the WA Delegate vote will be based on popular opinion.*

Today's Topics, brought to you by the Letters UU, may include:
Menstruum - Um, do we really want to go here, or, NOT what you were probably thinking?
Continuum - A groovy Stargate movie, or, a fancy name for a collection?
Muumuus - Woo, double UUs, shake it baby!
Squushy - Squishy gone wild, or, something much, much older, darker, deeper...

Tex, I know that Ulthar and The East Pacific have both said that they aren't going to start building embassies with regions they have no knowledge of - our regions have all taken diplomacy a bit more seriously than that for years. Some regions may want to swap them like bubble gum cards, but Ulthar agrees with you - they don't.

Topics
Menstruum - I was thinking mariachi band. I don't know what your filthy mind was going with.
Continuum - groovy, movie or not.
Muumuus - Hideous man dress or potential garden of delight, depends on wearer.
Squushy - Darn it, who put tapioca pudding my cowboy boots again? This is starting to get old.

The muumuu wearing chemist checked to make sure the menstruum they were concocting was on the right continuum to as not to be squushy.

Lest anyone forget, 347 days ago today, the region of Grand Central invaded The Rejected Realms with over 130 nations, forever tarnishing Grand Central's reputation. The Texas Defense Forces proudly fought to restore order in TRR. This moment in history is brought to you by NSHistory. ;>
