After 6-7 months of not having a second pharmacist, they finally hired someone. This will be his first time in retail pharmacy. It sounds like he's worked in a hospital setting before and more recently has worked in a related pharmaceutical field. While we would have preferred someone with more recent experience, it will be nice to have some consistency.
On a related note, if I haven't heard from the VA by early February I'm going to start applying for hospital positions.

I've heard this before from other employees, but yesterday I heard it directly from the customer service specialist from corporate. The survey customers are asked to fill out has a scale of 1-5. A Five will give us a positive score, a Four doesn't count at all, and all the other numbers are negative. Seems more than a bit lopsided to me

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission, under prodding from US Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi (Communist-IL) has come out with a report agreeing with Rep. Krishnamoorthi's view that cooking with gas is bad. It bears pointing out that Rep. Krishnamoorthi chaired the House Committee overseeing the agency and their checkbook at the time. Other Congressmen and Senators, including Sen. Cory Booker (Commie-NJ) and Rep. Don Beyer (Another Commie-VA) wrote a letter to the USPSC condemning gas stoves citing "smaller homes with poor ventilation, malfunctioning appliances, mold, dust mites, secondhand smoke, lead dust, pests, and other maintenance deficiencies."
Of course the backlash from the public was very loud. The meme's on Facebook and Twitter are hilarious. I've known women who were so passionate about their gas stoves that I sincerely believe they would literally become the living embodiment of "You can have my stove when you take it from my cold dead hands."
Frankly, I grew up around gas appliances, as did most of my peers. Nothing happened to us. I've also known and met children with childhood respiratory problems that came from all electric households.
The web tells us there are roughly 40 million households out there cooking with gas. It is safe to bet that roughly half those existing stoves will need replacing inside of 20 years. If the USCPSC makes it impossible to get replacement gas stoves, that is going to be 20 million additional electric stoves demanding power from the grid. The web tells us an electric stove draws 3000 watts on average. (That is very conservative in my view.) 20 million electric stoves at 3000 watts each comes out to 60 gigawatts of additional demand on the grid.
To put that in context, that is two and half times the capacity Obama's war on coal killed off. That killing off coal power plants in the Northeast put that portion of the grid one squirrel bite away from a cascading failure that will put the north Atlantic states in the dark for days, if not weeks.
The above lesson in power is important because no one is talking about where we are going to find an extra 15 gigawatts of power in each of four time zones around dinner time.
You cannot make this stuff up.

The next one will not be that mellow and it will take a lot longer to bring it back up.
Obama killed off close to 25 gigawatts of coal fired power plants. Because coal plants are an older technology, the northeast took the brunt of that bonehead move.
The northeastern Atlantic states were already importing 10-20% of their power before those local coal fired plants were taken off line. This was mostly along the coastal region from Philadelphia north to Boston. Now they are importing a great deal more of their power off the grid. The problem is that the grid wasn't built for that. The farther east and north you go, the older the electrical infrastructure. The current infrastructure was not built for loads it is carrying right now. While no one is saying anything for the record, people I went to school with are privately saying they are routinely running some of that transmission plant at 95% with no cutouts. That means they are using it all. Every wire and switch yard in the system is running maxed out. If something starts to go out, they do not have any paths around it.
They are just barely bringing in enough power to keep the lights on during heavy loads.
Because the grid runs in a delicate balance, all it takes is one insulator with too much carbon build up, one squirrel in a switchyard, or one case of Murphy's law where there is a surge on the line, and the whole thing will drop off line like dominos falling because there is no more headroom.
And that, boys and girls, is what you get when you start turning off generators with absolutely nothing waiting in the wings to replace that capacity. Oh yeah, states like New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts are prolonging the problem by focusing on non 24/7, unreliable (especially up there in and ice and snow) green power generation rather than allowing gas turbine plants. And building nuclear power up there? Hahahahahaha... no.
This explanation of the 2003 cascading failure kind of explains what happened then and why it is such a pain to recover from. Take what this man is telling you and then apply it to a situation where your list of options is limited to one or two unreliable alternatives.
