**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Preventing Unjust Warfare
A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.

Category: Global Disarmament Strength: Strong Proposed by: United Massachusetts

Affirming the fundamental truth that not all armed conflict is just"...

<see the General Assembly for full text and to vote>

Commentary: The General Assembly, yet again, is attempting to legislate war. Our longstanding stance is that we do not think the WA should be allowed to write the Laws of War. War is war and each conflict varies from the next. There is no "perfect" war that can be run by a book such as the one the World Assembly is attempting to write. Sure, it would be great if every war was scheduled and signed off on before it began, but then again so would world peace and free milk and cookies every day. While this Resolution is well-meaning, we thing the WA should stay out of this activity. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was flat on the last GA vote -- Protecting Personal Privacy -- which was defeated after gaining only 43.7% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 2 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 0 FOR and 2 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All Texas WA Member nations please vote. Please make your Texan opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Monday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 AM Texas Time on Tuesday the 30th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 1993 Votes AGAINST: 5834

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Condemn Kyrusia
A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

Category: Condemnation Nominee: Kyrusia Proposed by: Marilyn Manson Freaks

Recalling the fabled creation of Kyrusia"...

<see the Security Council for full text and to vote>

Commentary: The Security Council has a Commdemnation going for a Role-playing nation - Kyrusia. They have been around on and off since 2007, yet we have never met them. It sounds like they have done a lot of stuff, yet not all that much good stuff. Additionally, it seems they some of their judgment calls in Osiris were questionable. We just don't know on this one and are going defer to the side of caution. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was flat on the last SC vote -- Commend Auralia -- which was defeated after gaining only 20.8% of the vote. Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen of Texas,

I have great news! I have been moved to the Cardiac Ward and I am extremely happy to be discharged from the ICU. I hope I will be discharged from hospital soon and not be taken to hospital in an ambulance or wind up in the ICU again this year. Being hospitalized and ending up in the ICU is one of my greatest fears since the first time I ended up in the ICU as a 10 years old boy. Also, four ambulance rides to hospital in the same year are four too many. :(

My deepest gratitude to everyone in Texas from the bottom of my still recovering heart for your greatly appreciated prayers and support.

Howdy Vince Buddy, from exactly 100 days ago when Frist Trimester 2019 Elections were over:

NewTexas wrote:The Great Region of Texas officially issues Congratulations to each and every nation that was elected, that ran, that voted, that viewed these proceedings! These were some great elections as usual. This Trimester, there were zero surprises in the Texas Cabinet races. That is nice. All of our Cabinet Secretaries ran uncontested for their positions and each won easily. Sadly, there was one vote of No Confidence, but that is ok. Now, the Texas Representative Council was a different story. With three new candidates in the race, something was bound to happen. And it did, actually, several things did. First off, two incumbents lost their seats to first-time-to-Texas Government candidates! Woo! And secondly, there was a three-way tie for the third position, meaning we will have six TRC members this Trimester instead of five. Woo! That is awesome! That is good news for Texas as we will have a full complement of veterans as well as three newcomers holding up the mantle of Texas Government. We could hardly ask for a better contingent to represent and serve Texas. All will be valuable assets to Texas Government and we look forward to working with each and every one.

I just finished "Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court" by Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino.[1] I remember much of what they write about in the book, especially that part they refer to as "journalistic malpractice." But there is much, much more I missed or forgot about. Everyone should read this book. Left, right or center, it shows where we have allowed our society to go. It does not bode well for the future.
