Somewhat random question. Had anyone used a paid resume writing service?

Trecdom2 wrote:Somewhat random question. Had anyone used a paid resume writing service?

No, Trec Buddy. I have never used a paid resume writing service. I wrote my own resume because I did not trust someone else to write my resume for me. You can have your family and friends go over your resume after you write it yourself and provide advice and suggest modifications to it. However, you should not trust someone else to write your resume for you. Whether you nail a job interview or not depends on how good your resume is. Therefore, by getting someone else to write your resume for you, you are putting your future in their hands and that is a bad idea.

you still got that video link? because that's eerily similar to a video I saw many years ago that was the first time I heard Only Time.

I just looked and it appears the network took most of the Sept. 11th content down. Most of the networks pulled those really intense packages and tributes after President Trump blocked the visas and immigration of Muslims coming from Nations hosting, or at best ignoring terrorists operating from their soil.

Guess they didn't want to remind anyone what happens when we fail to check out the people coming in across our international borders. God forbid those righteous bastards heading up all those network news operations, who all know what's best for the rest of us, leave any evidence the President might have a valid point.

The one I edited together showed firefighters and rescue personnel picking through the debris, removing the remains of firefighters and police officers, and subsequent funeral processions, unloading of flag draped coffins, bagpipers, grieving family and friends. To my knowledge my piece is the only one that used "Only Time."

Perhaps someday I'll dig through the tapes sitting on the shelf and see if I still have it.

That is why there is a "dismiss the issue" button.

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

Yippee, it is Saturday Breakfast Time! Today is Fourth Of July Grilled Breakfast! It is a little late but close enough, so we are honoring the Fourth of July, we will be grilling breakfast today. We will start off with freshly-grilled, Texas-sized, cured, hickory-smoked Ham Steaks! Oh Boy, these babies are good and thick, super juicy and expertly grilled with beautiful cross-hatch grill marks. Top those bad boys off with skillet fried eggs right off the grill, or, have them scrambled. If you don't want to top your ham steak with eggs, top it off with great grilled pineapple slices caramelized to perfection. Just for fun, try some Grilled Texas Toast French Toast - fat slices of genuine Texas Toast soaked in a tasty cinnamon-vanilla egg bath and grilled to order. If ham is not your deal, there will be sumptuous sage country sausage patties on the grill right next to the super-thick slab bacon and sweet crispy apple slices. For the adventurous, we will be serving up plenty of BBQ'd back bacon to honor Canada Day, which, by the way, was also last week. Smoked Sausages are smoking and ready to be wrapped in tortillas for Texas-style Pigs in a Blanket. Orange Juice, Tomato Juice, and Lone Star Beer will all be on tap for your beverage pleasure. It doesn't get much better than this! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas coffee doesn't get much better. Enjoy Texas! You know you want to!®

***** Texas Shout Outs *****

@ Fort verden - Get well soon, Buddy! Texas cannot do without our Iron Man for long. Leia, little help, please!

@ Grays Harbor - Did everyone see the News, Texas' own World Assembly Curmudgeon Extraordinaire, GH has succumbed and has become a member of the General Secretariat of the World Assembly policing Proposals for all our protection.

@ Boozylvania - We agree with Issues Test Bed, but we can one-up his Dismiss Button, just do not click on the Issues link at all. We have gone five or even seven hundred days before without clicking that sucker.

@ Trecdom2 - Like others, we have never used a resume service either. We found the trick is volume. Try to send 10 a day. And, think outside the box. Apply for something you might not think you are qualified for or think you can do. You may be pleasantly surprised. And, go for ancillary industries. For example, we know you are a teacher, you do not have to have first-graders in front of you, you could be a corporate trainer. That is just a couple of thoughts on job searching from someone who has only had 3 jobs in the last 35 years. So, your results may vary.

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is a great opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, we debate, we talk about the weather, we talk about stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff and more stuff. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and talking about the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates at the moment. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 746 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 14¾ years! Check it out! Good stuff!

Indeed. It’s basically the knife-crime capital of Europe at the moment. And the media get more outraged about President Trump pointing it out. Apparently London is now more dangerous than New York (which is, in fairness, at least in part because New York is much safer than thirty years ago - thank you Rudy Giuliani).

I go to the University of Cambridge. I love it, on the whole, but it can be pretty tough to be a conservative traditionalist Christian there sometimes - mainly because of the lecturers rather than my fellow students.

From the Kitchens of Cajun winterfell, a delightfully mouth watering aroma saturated the atmosphere as Cajun Winterfellian cooks labored to prepare a sumptious buffet for everyone in Texas. Grab those red, white, and blue streamers, fire up the grill, and make sure you're fully stocked on berries. It's time to throw a star-spangled party and today's special is an Independence Day Banquet. Eat all you can!

Maltese Pizza

by Maltese pizza

Ingredients:

100g tomato sauce
1 Maltese sausage
4 – 5 sundried tomatoes
½ an onion
Handful black olives
1 gbejna
100g mozzarella
Handful rucola

Method:

1. On a floured surface open up the pizza dough with your hands. If you are confident enough, throw the dough into the air to make 12-inch diameter circles.
2. Pour a ladle-full of tomato sauce on the centre of the pizza base and spread outwards in a circular motion until the entire base is covered.
3. Top with mozzarella cheese.
4. Remove the meat from the sausage skin and discard the skin.
5. Place Maltese sausage around the pizza followed by onions, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and chucks of gbejna.
6. Cook in a hot oven at 250°C for 20 – 25 minutes.
7. To check if the pizza is ready raise one side of the pizza. When the bottom surface is light brown the pizza is ready to come out of the oven.
8. Top with rucola and serve.
