we going to watch any of them tomorrow? I'll probably watch and hope for wins from UK and LSU.

Ahem you forgot mention AP #25/CFP #20 A&M v Auburn. But here's my picks

Bama v LSU: Bama
Georgia v Kentucky: Kentucky same margin as my A&M v Auburn prediction
Michigan v Penn State: Michigan
W Virginia v Texas: W Virginia
A&M v Auburn: A&M by one to three touchdowns

I know what you mean lol. but the aggies aren't exactly hot right now. Auburn's rebounded a bit since that loss to Tennessee.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal: "Right To Self-Defense"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal  Resolution: GA#448  Proposed by: Imperium Anglorum
Category: Repeal Resolution: GA#448 Proposed by: Imperium Anglorum

General Assembly Resolution #448 "Right to Self-defense" (Category: Civil Rights; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out"...

<see the General Assembly for full text and to vote>"

Synopsis: The General Assembly is attempting an Insta-Repeal™ of the recently passed Right to Self-Defense. Apparently, the GA doesn't want everyone to have the Right to Bear Arms or Arm Bears either (probably). This would be a shame, but not a major deal because if it is repealed, you can simply enact the legislation in your own nation should you so choose. So, it is up to you. One Star. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was flat on the last GA vote -- Right To Self-Defense -- which was passed after gaining 55.9% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 4 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 4 FOR and 0 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All Texas WA Member nations please vote. Please make your Texan opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Monday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 PM Texas Time on Tuesday the 9th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 6357 Votes AGAINST: 1419

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

I second the movement against repealing the Right To Self Defense. The fatherless fascists at the WA have every reason to want us disarmed. That means we have every reason to remain armed.

If you are a WA member, I strongly recommend a vote against repealing the Right To Self Defense.

Welp, UT lost. Two straight. Wonder what's gonna happen to Herman after this season. If we lose to Tech and Iowa State, he is definitely done for (especially if we lose to Kansas). We only lost by 1 pt so that should be okay. 3 to Ok St and now 1 to WV at home. We'll just have to see what happens...

I feel you there A&M had a second chance to turn the game with 1second left and what does the qb do he goes and gets tackled. The last three games for us are (Ole Miss, UAB, and LSU) the first two I know we can beat I'm hoping we can finally beat LSU.

I would think he's safe. I've followed College Football since Cam Newton's Auburn days (that's how I am an Auburn fan 😝) and this is the best Texas team I can recall.

Wait, the liberals are trying to repeal the right to self defense! What kind of liberal propaganda is this?!?!

Yep. Mack Brown was only a good coach because he had a good quarterback with Colt McCoy and Vince Young. Herman transformed a Houston team out of nothing. Imagine what he can do for Texas.

That's my thinking here. This is pretty good given that many of the Juniors and Seniors are still Charlie Strong's guys. I do think they'll be even better in the next few years. Worst case would be he levels off- even then he's made enough progress to be happy with his tenure. Maybe they eventually move on to try for a bigger fish (like Lane Kiffin) but the Big 12 isn't as huge of money as other Power 5 conferences are and getting one of them isn't going to be as fortunate for them as it was for the Aggies. Ultimately I do believe they'll stick with Tom Herman long term.

I’d have to say that that is a strong no, but Texas has huge odds against them in a neutral field and they beat Oklahoma. Who knows??

Is it a confession from the Right admitting they do actually believe in global warming?

Trecdom2 wrote:Is it a confession from the Right admitting they do actually believe in global warming?

Remember Trec Theres is no such thing as Global Warming it's now "Climate change" even though the climate changes on the earth no matter what we humans do.

Not hardly. We on the right don't buy into con games.

Global Average Temperature from 1880-2018: http://www.jhelvy.com/uploads/2/8/6/9/2869377/noaa-global-preview_orig.png
Global Carbon Emissions from 1900-2014: https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/styles/large/public/2017-04/fossil_fuels_1.png

and you're telling me there isn't a correlation between carbon emissions and climate change?

Possible solutions to the problem:

-Regulate Carbon Emissions. Quite funny, actually, the GOP used to believe in this and actually supported measures doing exactly this before Obama became President. (SOURCE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzDjjUAt3zc )
-Plant more trees. This is quite inefficient since we would need more trees and one individual tree at a time wouldn't have much impact. Even if we did plant more trees we would still need to use the first idea in the following decades because these trees would need to actually grow.
-Actually do our part in the Paris climate agreement- because we are leaders and we should lead by example. The US, China, and India are pretty much the three biggest world polluters, making up essentially half of all world carbon emissions. By cutting ours, others are sure to do the same thing. Even then we would need to use the original idea of regulating/eliminating Carbon Emissions to attain this goal.
-Build factories that emit CO2 on Mars. Okay, this is too far out now- but might actually be a serious idea long term if we want to terraform mars, where if we plant trees on mars with the factories we could thicken the atmosphere and release oxygen at the same time. :P

Next, we would need to look into where these carbon emissions in the United States are coming from. Three quarters of allCarbon Emissions in the United States come from three main industrial sectors: Transportation (28%), Electricity (28%), and Industry (22%). (SOURCE: https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/styles/medium/public/2018-03/total_ghg.png )

To cut carbon emissions by about 75% in the United States, usage in these three prongs would need to be primarily tackled first. Let's look at each individually:

Electricity- we need to move on from coal, natural gas, and other non-renewable power resources. These resources are projected to run out within about 100 years anyway, so we would have a problem sticking with these long term regardless of whether they are causing climate change or not. It's better to reduce and eventually eliminate our use of these sources rather than dealing with an energy crisis down the line. President Obama's "Clean Power Plan" enacted by the EPA in 2015 would have cut the use of carbon pollution by 30% by 2030, per his statistics anyway. It would also increase investment in renewable sources such as wind and solar power. I think wind would be a nice go-to, seeing that it booms out west and there are initiatives to build farms of wind turbines out to sea. I believe it would bring a competent amount of power without the same "clutter" many recognize with wind turbines or the same pollution problem from coal & natural gas. California also has a new law requiring solar panels on the roof of every newly built home. Given that California is one of the sunniest areas in the country and possibly the world, this should generate a lot of power for them.

Transportation- we need to eliminate emissions from vehicles. Currently, we don't really have a good way to do this- gas powered cars come from polluting sources, emitting smoke as CO2 into the air when burned by the motor. Electric Cars aren't entirely a solution as it stands either- you are simply moving your power source from the gas pump to a coal factory. (SOURCES: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQLbakWESkw and https://www.trutv.com/shows/adam-ruins-everything/blog/adams-sources/adam-ruins-going-green.html )
The best ways to reduce our transportation carbon footprint currently are: travelling public transport, carpooling, walking or biking when possible, etc. In this sector, not much can be done to reduce carbon emissions until emissions in the industrial and electrical sector are addressed.

Industrial- This seems to be the sector that gets the most attention in the climate change debate. I imagine this used to be a much larger sector of emissions but has declined over time due to the movement of the American economy away from industrial jobs and towards jobs in service. Regardless, it still produces twice the emissions of commercial & residential in general, so it's still a large enough sector to need to address. Factories emit pollution, and we need to address that. One of the primary ways to do this would probably be to push towards powering factories with renewable energy. This hinges on attacking the usage of coal and natural gasses as power, and on eliminating these as power sources. We would need to start here with strict regulations, requiring a yearly energy audit to hone down where the factory is wasting power, requiring yearly inspections to seal places where power could escape, and overall using this to make factories more power efficient, thus minimizing the carbon footprint.

Point is: Global Warming/Climate Change is real- and all the main solutions lead back to doing something to cut carbon emissions in numerous sectors of the American Economy. Even if you do not believe in climate change, despite the overwhelming evidence suggesting so, it is for the better to move away from non-renewable resources such as coal & natural gas before these resources run out entirely. And the entire solution to doing this revolves around regulations and initiatives to make the American Economy Greener. President Obama made progress with this, working on things such as the clean climate plan and the Paris Climate Accord. While neither of these were entirely perfect, they were steps in the right direction. And what did President Trump do to them, you might ask? He got rid of them- which effectively places us back at square one. Being 12 years out from this trend being completely irreversible per IPCC reports (SOURCE: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/08/global-warming-must-not-exceed-15c-warns-landmark-un-report ), it is frankly disgusting that Trump wants to send us back to square one tackling this problem because a few corporations got pissed off about it.
