I’m all for liberating Belgium but SC #4 I believe already has liberated Belgium thus making yours null as there’s nothing to liberate so to say.

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

Yay! It is Texas Saturday Breakfast! We are keeping it simple today with Sausage & Biscuit Saturday! We will have plenty of varieties of homemade Sausage (pork, beef, chicken, turkey, chorizo, hot, mild, sweet or sage) expertly-formed into patties and browned up to perfection. Our featured sausage is the House Special - a whole hog, Texas-raised pork patty seasoned with the perfect blend of sage, maple and chili flakes. Also on the bill are some sweet and savory chicken and apple sausages with or without onion. Don't miss our super spicy red chorizo chock full of chili powder and super-juicy, super-spicy all-beef sausage with jalapeños, thyme, and chili flakes. We even have a Mild Italian Bomber full of fennel seed, garlic, flat-leaf parsley and a hint of chili flakes for those who like breakfast a little funky. We will even serve it with our homemade Fresh Tomato and Caramelized Onion Jam. All these blends can be ordered fried or grilled. And the biscuits are to die for! Lovingly-made, homemade biscuits come in both buttermilk and flaky styles. We will be cranking out these luscious chunks of leavened bread today in sizes ranging from a silver dollar to a salad plate. The sausages will be sized accordingly. So, pick a biscuit size and style and a sausage style and cooking method and let us do the rest! To accompany these wonderful gut grenades, we will make sure The Juice Bar is stocked up with all the standard juices - Orange, Apple, Grapefruit, and Tomato. Today's Funky Stuff is Serrano Mango Lime Slushie! It doesn't get much better than this! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas coffee doesn't get much better. Enjoy Texas! You know you want to!®

***** Texas Election Reminder *****

In Texas Election News, the First Trimester 2018 Texas Election Week is almost over. If you haven't voted yet, shake a leg and head to the offsite and make your voice heard!

http://s2.zetaboards.com/Texas/forum/3000040/

Let's go Texas! Election Week closes Sunday, TOMORROW, at High Noon! Go, Vote, Now!

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours. The current record is a marathon fifteen hours forty-nine minutes starting on April 1, 2017, and ending on April 2, 2017.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is a great opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, we debate, we talk about the weather, we talk about stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff and more stuff. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and talking about the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates at the moment. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 684 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 13½ years! Check it out! Good stuff!

Too bad using one of those these days would result in a visit from CPS. Probably have a few less school shootings.

I just finished casting votes in the Texas election. I hope we all do well this year. If I get elected to anything, I'm sure NewTexas will be happy to help me get adapted to the new job. I can hardly wait for the results!

***** State of The Region Address *****

April 15, 2018

Greetings Citizens of Texas!

Texas Elections Voting Week is over. It is our great pleasure to present to the region, the brand new Texas Government!!!

***The Texas Government***

**The Texas Cabinet**

The Governor of Texas - The Big Tex Happy Taco Stands of NewTexas
The Lieutenant Governor of Texas - The Gigantic Frozen Igloo of Studly Penguins
The Secretary of Defense of Texas - The Social Republic of Indian Empire
The Secretary of World Assembly Affairs of Texas - The Progressive Union of Seeker Alpha
The Secretary of State of Texas - The Spring Nation of Trecdom2 & Lewisville texas

**Texas Representative Council**

The Barnes-Free Conglomerate of Ewing Oil Co
The Concordium of Independent Planets
The Oppressed Peoples of Issues Test Bed
The Serene Compassionate Utopia of Safj
The Southeast Texan Republic of United States of Woodward

**Texas Constitutional Update**

-- None --

The Great Region of Texas officially issues Congratulations to each and every nation that was elected, that ran, that voted, that viewed these proceedings! These were some great elections as usual. This Trimester, there were several surprises for a change. First off, our recently-returned Secretary of Defense went M.I.A. about a week before the Elections leaving the position open for a tight race between two current Cabinet members looking to make a move. Indian Empire of WA Affairs and Trecdom2 of State both went for it with IE ultimately taking it. We are sure he will do an excellent job. Meanwhile back at the Texas Department of State, Trecdom did not have such an easy job keeping his position and by the end wound up in a tie with Lewisville Texas. It has been a while since we have had a tie in the Cabinet, but we have one and both will serve. We cannot have enough people in the Department of State (would-be Ambassadors, contact Trec or Sarah). Sarah of Lewisville Texas was also running for the position of The Lieutenant Governor of Texas, however, longtime-incumbent Hiram of Studly Penguins proved to be a fierce contender, plus he passed out BBQ. We have a new freshman Secretary of WA Affairs after Indian Empire vacated the post to take over Defense. We would like to welcome Dale of Seeker Alpha to Texas Government in a big way. We hope he finds what he is seeking.

The TRC looks similar, but new this Trimester. With Sarah's move to the Joint Sec-O-State position, she remains in the Texas Representative Council, but her position opened up, and Shemiki and Gig Em declined to run and Narshtaph caught the CTE plague, so that leaves only Safj and Woodward as the remaining holdovers from the last Trimester and they both retained their positions handily. As for the new/old members, Issues Test Bed is returning to service as well as Barnes after a really long absence and Independent Planets is back after some time off. So, we have a full complement of veteran TRC members to represent and serve Texas and all will be valuable assets to Texas Government and we look forward to working with each and every one.

In Texas Constitutional matters, we had none. Once again, that is a tribute to the quality of our Constitution.

Please join us in commending all of Texas for their participation in this Trimester's Election! This Election was light in the participation again this Trimester, down from the previous one. We still do not get how out of 219 some odd nations (up 49 from 170 last Election), only 13 choose to vote (down 1 from 14 last Election). It is kind of sad. However, these jobs all require work, real work, not just role play work, so it is a tribute to those who did run. Texans are still very much alive, yet older, and are a dynamic bunch even after all these years! Kudos!

Big cheers to all the members of Texas Government!

Overall, this has been great fun and good times for all Texans. We look forward to seeing how the new freely-elected Government of Texas will make Texas bigger, better and greater than ever! Cheers to The Great Region of Texas!

The Announcement & Party is posted here:

Long Live The Great Region of Texas!

Congratulations to all winners of the elections! May you serve well.

If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was up on the last GA vote -- Ban On Statutory Limitations For Heinous Crimes -- which was passed after gaining 82.0% of the vote. <see the Security Council for full text and to vote>

Synopsis: The Security Council has one of their rare Roleplay Commendations going and as far as we can tell, most of this has played out in the NS Sports forum. We really do not know ol' Alasdair or The Holy Empire for that matter although they were founded only a few months after us. We will take the author's word for it and say Goal! Two Stars. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was flat on the last SC vote -- Repeal: "Liberate Femdom Empire" -- which was passed after gaining 87.2% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 3 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 3 FOR and 0 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All Texas WA Member nations please vote. Please make your Texan opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Thursday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 PM Texas Time on Friday the 19th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 10351 Votes AGAINST: 827

Welcome to the week before Earth Day!

I know you are all very excited to see what Forest has in store to celebrate the day which defines our regions heart and soul.

Well I am glad you asked. This year we are going to celebrate earth day with a special challenge to Forest, and our embassy allies. The challenge is simple.

Below is a list of activities that I and the community of Forest came up with that help our earth remain sustainable and beautiful as well as instilling a sense of connection to our planet. You will attempt to complete tasks on the list and submit pictures of the deed when possible. Completing each task will net you a certain amount of points. Completing all the tasks somehow will award major bonus points. Then, depending on how many participants we have there will be winners in Three different categories. Top Score - Individual, Top Score - Region, and Most Creative Submissions. We will also compile the photos in a later dispatch to show off how hard you all worked to keep our planet happy. And don't worry, while I will be on the hunt myself to show my support for the environment I won't be awarding any points to myself.

Scavenger List:

1. Plant a Tree or Tend to your Garden

2. Start or Maintain compost pile

3. Bike or Walk to Work

4. Start or Maintain Recycling in your home

5. Clean trash up in affected areas (Forest, Beach, Parks Etc.)

6. Invite someone not involved in Forest to do one of these tasks with you or by themselves.

7. Go vegetarian or vegan for one day.

8. Skip or Shorten your avg. daily shower time.

9. Taking pictures of nature on your hike, bike, walk etc.

10. Unplug devices which draw energy even when not in use. (Chargers, TV's, Game Consoles etc)

11. Use your own reusable straw, cup, or top when going to restaurants.

12. Line Dry Laundry

13. Use reusable canvas bags for grocery runs or other shopping.

How do I participate?

To participate, please go Linkhere and setup an account on our forum. Then post in the participant thread that you would like to be included. I will then create a thread specifically for you to post your activities in along with the pictures. Signups will end at 12am PST Saturday April 21st and you have a chance to rack up points

Competition not your thing?

You don't need a competition to help the earth, and you've already been doing all these things. Well go ahead and tell us all about it on our RMB! I will be keeping an eye out for posts relating to the environment and adding them to the dispatch at the end of the competition.

Happy Hunting and Happy Earth Day!

UPDATE: We have a winner!

Love and Nature posted the most tasks of their list during the competition period. Congrats to them! And just in case they wanted to flaunt it to the world, I made them a cute little signature image to show the world:
