Interesting statement.

Best of luck, Trec.

Lol

In regard to the poll, I guess it depends where you are living in the US (or wherever) to determine if DST is good or not. I will say going to school in Alabama where the sunsets at 4:30 in November isn't nice, so the hour forward to make it set at around 5:30 is nice. It's even better back home in Western NC with DST where the sun sets at 8:30 in June giving you time to mow and do yard work after you get off work.

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

WooWooWooHootie! Today's Saturday Breakfast is brought to you by The Big Tex Happy Taco Stands of NewTexas and is the super-yummy Chorizo & Egg Taco! This is no Gringo Taco, this twangy little baby is the real deal. Chorizo is a spicy sausage made in Mexico, Spain, and Portugal. The European varieties are hard and cured like salami. The Mexican variety, is fresh and ground like Jimmy Dean but is stuffed in casings (natural or not). While, like Jimmy Dean, it is made from ground pork, it diverges there in that chorizo is marinated in vinegar and chili powder. Today, we will be removing it from the casing and frying it up in the skillet. This produces a rich, reddish grease that is mostly drained after the chorizo is fully-cooked. We then crack fresh Texas Grade AA brown eggs into the skillet and scramble. The result is an orange-ish, not-so-fluffy, yet very eggy, very spicy heap of breakfast goodness that we are going to pile into homemade flour tortillas! A whole egg in every taco!® We also have plenty of refried beans if you want them on the side, or, if you are just not feeling eggy today, we will make you a Chorizo y Frijoles Refritos taco. Not into refrieds? We just so happen to have a big ol' pot of spuds going and can make you a Chorizo con Papas taco that is diced potatoes and chorizo. You know you have a good chorizo taco when you have orange grease running down your arm and dripping off your elbow. That is our promise for your taco! Today's Salsa Bar includes staples like Pico de Gallo, mild traditional red salsa, tart and tangy green tomatillo salsa, pickled jalapeños, limes, and cilantro. The specials today include an expertly-prepared fire-roasted red salsa, delicately flecked with little, charred bits and the extravagantly hot and sweet mango habanero chunky salsa only to be tried by the exceptionally brave. It is Free Cheese Saturday, so be sure and ask for some mild, cheesy, Longhorn Jack on your taco today! Remember, breakfast tacos are served at any time at The Big Tex Happy Taco Stands! The Juice Bar is open with all the standard juices - Orange, Grapefruit, Apple, and Tomato. The funky one today is a Cilantro/Chive/Spinach Smoothie. Try "The Suicide" - we dare you! If fresh fruit is not your bag, we will be stirring up Tang on request. Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas coffee doesn't get any better. Enjoy Texas! You know you want to!®

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours. The current record is a marathon fifteen hours forty-nine minutes starting on April 1, 2017, and ending on April 2, 2017.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is a great opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, we debate, we talk about the weather, we talk about stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff and more stuff. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and talking about the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates at the moment. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 680 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 13½ years! Check it out! Good stuff!

Survived the 'fun' Uncle Sam threw at me. I'm a bit sore and tired, but I'll live.

With regard to the poll, if all my church going friends are right about where I am going after I die, and if there is any justice in the afterlife whatsoever, I will spend all the rest of eternity torturing the party or parties responsible for Daylight Savings Time.

(I get really cranky when someone takes an hour of sleep away from me.)

Doesn't seem like many of them will get far from what I've been seeing. That's unfortunate.

***** Texas March Madness Announcement *****

Texas, March Madness is upon us! Texas, and guests from our friends and allies, we have a new game in town. It is an old and familiar game to most and Texas is proud to offer it again for the fourth year in a row. It is March Madness 2018 NCAA Bracket Picking! And, best of all (to some), there is absolutely NO WAGERING! This is just going to be good clean fun for bragging rights. It is just for fun and not for profit. And speaking of those bragging rights, The Galactic Empire of Gig em Aggies currently holds them as Winner of the 2017 tournaments! Let's teach him about giggin' Texas!

We have updated the web pages we used last year. It is located here:
http://texasregion.net/brackets/

Like Texas Chat, participation is open to all Texans, friends of Texans and all our allies as well. The more the merrier! Please use your nation name when you Create Bracket!

Note: Brackets Are Open! Sign-up and bracket picking will end just before the tip-off of the first game on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

PS: For those unaware, Stephen F Austin is a Texas University located in Nacogdoches. So, there are 5 colleges and universities in with a chance at 6.

Congratulations Tex for being the leader of this region for 14.1 years! For reference, kids born fourteen years ago would be in 9th grade now. For further reference I was in 3rd grade fourteen years ago and boy howdy that just hit me. Once your nation hits 15 I'll buy you a beer, I reckon.

What about this? You say as our region's official standard: "No one-nation regions, no new regions, and no raiders or friends of raiders." If you don't want us being friendly with raiders, why not condemn them?

Texas tends to view condemnation of radier nations as a badge of pride for them.

You know what'd be nice? If TBH had both of their condemnations revoked because they like having them.
