Secretary of WA affairs?

Mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Post self-deleted by Gig em Aggies.

Question: If I get the Sec of WA Affairs could I still be on the TRC or would I forfeit the TRC spot by default if I became the Sec of WA Affairs?

Hello their fellow Texans I Gig em Aggies have been a part of this fine Region for many years I am also a Native Texan living in this fine state in IRL for 27 years and counting. I if chosen to be the new WA Affairs Secretary will hold this position to the best of my ability as I am in my last semester of college and work part time, I will bring the same effort I had in the past several TRC posts over the last few years to this new position.

2 Trimester Election Texas Representitive Council 2017
As you already know, I'm running for re-election for the Texas Representative Council. Before I start, I would like to say good luck to my fellow candidates for the Texas Representative Council, I would like to represent all of you again this trimester and contribute my strongest dedication to our Representative Council. As your representative, I will voice your ideas and insight to the council as well as make my own contributions to the region. I believe I qualify for this responsibility for a few reasons.

First of all, I am an extremely dedicated person, and am willing to cut out whatever time it takes, whenever it is, to make Texas a better place. I am also organized and responsible, and I can stay in complete focus that I will convey your opinions and my own to the council as well as inform you of anything you should know. Ultimately, my goal is to help everyone live up to our regions motto by being a part of the council, As you are informed, I was elected representative last trimester and have gained valuable experience for the Council. As your Rep, i am willing to sacrifice my free time multiple times during the year to make Texas a better place to be. I believe that i am qualified for this role because I am a Leadership kind of person. I will be ready and willing to listen to the ideas of others and am not afraid to voice my opinion and stand up for what we believe in.

Although i cannot promise you that i will be successful in this election who knows i might not win but that is something I'm not worried about, I can promise you that I will work my hardest to be the best representative that I can be! And although I haven't been here for a long time, it's been long enough for me to feel part of our community. And as being a part of our community, I would like to help out around the region and help change some things to make Texas a better and safer place to be in. That is why I am seeking re-election for my Incumbent position in the TRC.
I do not want to be an TRC to be popular, get out of work or receive publicity - I am genuinely willing to give up my time to help you! I will listen to what you have to say and will take all your ideas and requests seriously, hopefully making them a reality.

I am an honest person - I always tell the truth. Leave me in a room by myself and nothing would be missing or out of place.
I am kind to all people whether or not they are in my friendship group - never excluding anybody for any reason.
I am organized - I have everything neat, tidy and ready for action, never forgetting anything. I am resilient - if something I do doesn't turn out right, I don't give up, I keep strong and try harder. I have a passion for being re-elected to the TRC - to help.
I am not lazy and I will try my hardest to help our great region in every way I possibly can.
I am patient - listening to other people rather than myself.

I do not interrupt and I am very well mannered. I am confident and i will stand up for what we all believe in and I am not afraid to speak to a large crowd. I treat others and their property with respect. I do not break anything or use anything without permission. I am nice to all people no matter what skin colour they have, country they're from or their beliefs. We are all different but equal.
I am really determined of getting this re-election back into the TRC and putting 100% into the work I do. With your help I can receive this honor and promise to use it wisely. Thank you for listening to my speech and I hope you may consider voting for me.

The Texas Representative Council is comprised of the members of the Texas Cabinet and an equal number of Texas Representative Council members. At this time, the are 5 Texas Cabinet Members, therefore, there will be 5 more Texas Representative Council members elected, bringing the total membership of the Texas Representative Council to 10 members. Together, they will shape and guide the direction of The Great Region of Texas.

So, Gig'em, no you will not "forfeit the TRC spot" provided you win a Cabinet position. And, on the other side of that coin, if you lose the Cabinet race, you can still win at the Texas Representative Council race. And, anticipating another question, if you win both, you get to pick which position you prefer. Of course, per the above, by selecting the Cabinet position, you would also be getting the Texas Representative Council position as an added bonus.

Clear?

Like FuF said, please ignore the troll. Anyone who scrolls to the bottom of their nation's page can see they've been in Forest for less than 30 minutes.

Greetings and welcome!!

If I am following this correctly we just have our forum, but we also have a Regional chat every Saturday at Noon CDT. NewTexas can fill you in on more details as he handles the chats.

Greetings Y'all

It's almost been five years since we first got up here and gave a speech asking for your faith and vote as your Lieutenant Governor for this great region. Now once again I am here humbly seeking your vote once again. Being your Lt. Governor has been and still is one of the best honors and privileges of our time in NS.

In the last trimester we seen the Texas recruitment initiative go into full swing. We had good success as the population soared over 200 nations for a while. In the next go around we are seeking new ideas for not only recruiting, but to get these nations to want to stay here/or stay active once they do arrive here. Also it's been great to see the TRC continue to become more and more active and we hope to see that continue into the future.

Thanks again for all of your help and cooperation over the years and look forward to continuing to serve you all!!!

Yes and no. Yes, we have a Discord server, but, no we do not use it as we have a custom Chat Board. Texas Chat is every Saturday @ High Noon Texas Time. It runs from anywhere from an hour to, well, the record is fifteen plus hours. We average 3 to 6 nations with upwards of 10 to 12 over the course of Texas Chat. We have the Discord server as a backup and use it only occasionally.

While we are running for 2 offices, we'll just post one speech.

As a long time Texan we have worn many hats. Sec. of Space, Sec. Def, TDF Member, TRC member, and also diplomat to 3 of our allied nations. We're grateful to once again have the chance to be a member of the top levels of Texas Gov.

Texas is Awesome, vote for Trecdom!

Hey guys,

Shemiki here. This is my first time running for a seat on the Texas Representative Council. I'm a fairly new member of the region, having joined it back in April. That being said, I've been a visitor and friend since 2012 when I came here as part of an XKI field trip and had a lot of fun. I've always liked this region and the times I have spent here have always been memorable.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what to expect as a member of the TRC should I be elected. Nonetheless, I promise I will do my utmost to best uphold the duties with which I am charged. I hope to do my best in serving this region and bringing the viewpoints of both myself and other citizens to the table.

I wish best of luck to my fellow candidates and hold this election will be as successful as all the ones that preceded it. May the best candidates win.

Howdy, fellow Texans.

As you are aware, elections are fast approaching. I am honored to have been a messenger for your voice in the Texas Representative Council. I am also honored to be an ambassador for the goodwill of Texans in the world. I am here once again to ask for your continued support. As proud as I am to be a leader in many categories in the world, I am even more proud to be a member of our fine region. I have been apart of NS for nearly 13 years, and spent time in many regions, but Texas is the only one that has made me feel at home. Texas is a compassionate and welcoming region, that stands up against the evil in the world, and gives a voice to those that are powerless. These are virtues that I believe all of us should continue striving for, in the face of a world that can be cruel and unkind. I am asking for your vote, so that I may continue to represent these values not only in Texas, but in all of NationStates. Thank you.

Now let's go get some Whataburger.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal: "Reproductive Freedoms"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal Resolution: GA#286 Proposed by: Dobrobyt

General Assembly Resolution #286 "Reproductive Freedoms" (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out"...

<see the General Assembly for full text and to vote>

Oh Boy, we have a Repeal! And, it is an old and very contentious GA one no less. When this one came around in March 2014, Texans disliked this one by a vote of 3 for and 6 against. They tried to repeal it recently in June 2017 and Texans liked that by a vote of 5 for and 1 against. As a nation, we disliked it for very similar reasons that other Texans did - it was/is not an international issue. If you want to have an abortion in your nation, fine. If your next door neighbor does not want to allow it, fine. If Outer Testlandia wants to make it a capital offense, fine. There is no good reason for abortion to be legal in all 22,086 nations of The World. As a reminder, the issue here is the REPEAL of the existing law. A vote AGAINST this Resolution means you are in favor of the existing law and do not want it repealed. A vote FOR this Resolution means you want the law off the books. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was up on the last GA vote -- Repeal "Enabling The Disabled In Academia" -- which was passed after gaining 73.7% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 6 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 3 FOR and 3 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were totally split. We exercised our delegatory tie-breaking power by voting For.

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently, a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect the opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Sunday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 AM Texas Time on Monday the 14th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 1618 Votes AGAINST: 8357

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!
