**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Commend the Rejected Realms
A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

Category: Commendation Nominee: The Rejected Realms Proposed by: Cepcecic diplomacy

CONGRATULATING The Rejected Realms on achieving a stable and safe democracy"...

<see the Security Council for full text and to vote>

WooHootie! Another of our friends is up for a Commendation! This time the Security Council wants to commend The Rejected Realms. Despite the quantity of riff-raff constantly being sent to TRR, there is also a lot of nice peeps who have chosen to call NationStates' dumping ground home. It has a rough place to live. The constant turnover rivals that of the Feeder regions. If it were not for the dedicated stalwarts who call it home, it would be a difficult region in which to make friends. Those leading TRR are truly commendable for putting up with all the nations that The World decides they do not want in their region. We wholeheartedly support the commendation of The Rejected Realms. The author of the Resolution has a lot of other good reasons. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was way flat on the last SC vote -- Commend Forest -- which was passed after gaining 74.2% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 4 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 4 FOR and 0 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Sunday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 PM Texas Time on Monday the 24th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 2826 Votes AGAINST: 4323

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

Indian Empire and Pahayokee

Thanks, Big Tex and Indian Empire!

Also, interesting piece on San Jacinto Day. It's telling that ten years later Texas would once again help kick Mexico's ass, proving once again you don't mess with Texas.

I am voting FOR the resolution to Commend the Rejected Realms as well.

I am FOR the resolution.

Sapnu we do have a region only thread but those are on our own Texas Forum offsite. We don't need to create another one here on NS unless BT the Texas Cabinet and the TRC approve of one.

We don't actually allow region-only discussion threads. You can have a recruitment thread in Gameplay, or dedicated regional roleplay threads in the Diplomacy forums, but you can't have a generic Regional thread anywhere. That's what offsite forums are for.

As for having separate RMB boards for the region, that's not technically feasible. Sorry.

Maybe we should go right to the heart of the problem. Sapnu, just what posts are you not liking - ones with more than 168 characters? Our friends over in Renegade Islands Alliance absolutely have a conniption if you post a "Wall of Words". (oops: 241 characters with spaces)

TL;DR: What's your prob? :)

FUN FACT: The 2nd leading cause of death in Safj is becoming lost in the wilderness. It's killing a whopping 40.2% of citizens!

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

Wooo! It is Saturday breakfast time again! And it is one of our favorites - ToastFest! For your fine dining pleasure, today will be toast, toast, toast and more toast! Oh Yeah! For the ultimate toast experience, we will start right off with traditional white bread, soft and spongy right out of the plastic bag! This is the stuff toast dreams are made of. These pillows of bready goodness are toasted until golden brown on one side, slathered in farm-fresh, Genuine Texas Angus butter, churned freshly daily, and then lightly toasted on the other side just until the butter bubbles and browns giving it a nutty deliciosity that is unmatched in any other breakfast treat. For the health conscious, we have brown whole wheat bread. For the gonzo health nuts, we have Seventeen Grain Nut Loaf with all kinds of healthy grassy things ground up made into a bread of sorts that can be toasted. Of course there will be thick slab Texas Toast either toasted in the oven or grilled on the flat top. We also have super-yummy cinnamon toast and cinnamon-raisin bread toast. For the funky-inclined, we have rye bread toast, pumpernickel toast, rosemary bread toast, Challah bread toast and English Toasting Bread toast. That English Toasting Bread is really good stuff and comes highly-recommended for the true toast connoisseur. The chefs just keep popping out so many various breads, if you don't see something you like, just ask. Onto the toast toppings! Woo, we are swooning now. If you thought that was a lot of toast, there are almost more toppings for toast, glorious toast. Nature's Finest Food! We will just start listing them - plain ol' Buttered Toast (salted or no), Flavored Butter Toast, Peanut Butter Toast, Peanut Butter and Jelly Toast, Nutella Toast, Honey Toast, Cheese Toast, Applesauce on Toast, Peanut Butter and Banana Toast and Peanut Butter and Apple Toast. Jellies and other condiments include the ubiquitous electric-purple grape, strawberry preserves, banana compote, orange marmalade, blueberry preserves, blackberry jam, guava, persimmon and pomegranate preserves. Not into sweet toppings for your toast? We have cream gravy, with or without the chipped beef. Our friends in Wales even sent us some rarebits for Toastfest. The Abuelitas seized on that idea and are furiously whipping up pan tostado con queso! Not to be left out, our friends in Scotland sent over a very small batch of haggis that we will slice and fry up to put on some soda bread toast for a, um, real treat. The offerings are mind boggling for this wonderful breakfast food that is awesome any time of the day! The Juice Bar today features a new one - The Green Goblin - Liquified (mostly) Spinach, Kale, Parsley, Cucumber And Celery. Mmm! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas coffee doesn't get much better. Enjoy Texas! You know you want to!®

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours. The current record is a marathon fifteen hours forty-nine minutes on April 1, 2017.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is a great opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, we debate, we talk about the weather, we talk about stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff and more stuff. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and talking about the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates at the moment. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 636 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 12½ years! Check it out! Good stuff!
