WHAT!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? YOU NEVER GET BETWEEN A NORGIAN AND THEIR AGRICULTURE. YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS IN BLOOD OR OTHERWISE!

At least we still have Basket Weaving.

Have you been talking about the roleplay thingy?

We opened a channel on discord to discuss organization and planning for roleplay. Nothing substantial yet, but considering none of us have any experience with RP, I'm pleased with how it's going.

If you can't or don't want to access discord, you can either telegram me questions or thoughts about it, or else bring them up here on the RMB, whichever you prefer.

Hello Glabo, welcome to the region.

Please accept a complimentary lei, island drink, and massive stone Easter Island Moai statue 🗿 The giant statue is now your responsibility, and we ask that you please do not not leave them in the reception area.

Thank you and enjoy your stay with us.

I see you there, now. I previously struggled to figure out who you were, as I am not very savvy with the platform. I'll get you set up now.

But Easter Island is in East Pacific.

hoo-boy, you should read the lengthy argument we had on discord when discussing a new map for the region, trying to determine what exactly constitutes "South Pacific" and where the other pacifics domains lie.

Personally, I favor anything encompassing the general Polynesian region, along with Australasia, Melanesia and much of Micronesia. It's a kind of cultural grouping. "Oceania" can be one definition for the geographic area. "Pacific Islander" can describe some of the peoples.

Johan found a clever solution in something called "Wallace's Line" which basically determines where marsupials begin to be found. But that's only for its northern extent, and not it's eastern.

It's difficult, given this:

I’ve got another cup for you if you so need it ☕️

If you kill me during Hunger Games there will be many many more cups.

Dear Panther,

The relationship between the South Pacific and South Pacific has been strong for a number of years. As compatriots by name and by style, we are committed to protecting each other. We have shown this time and time again - when South Pacific was most recently raided, we were a part of a civilian militia that worked to free you from occupation.
However, these ties have most recently been broken over something that may look insignificant to you, but certainly isn't to us.
South Pacific Iced Tea is a cultural hallmark of the South Pacific. Enshrined in our laws and culture, it's customary to greet nations, new or old, native or foreigner, with a nice, cold glass of SPIT. Because of this, South Pacific's decision to ban SPIT is greatly insulting.
Panther, tear down this embargo! Do it for the years of allyship! Do it for the cultural compatriotship! Do it for your South Pacific brethren! And then, our relationship will go back to being one of the tightest bonds across NationStates.

Sincerely,
Prarie
Prime Minister of the South Pacific

Tensions continue to rise in the south pacific seas, as the prospect of trade war brews. The whole affair
occurred seemingly from nowhere, and citizenry on both sides of the conflict remain baffled as to its origins
.

We at the Current reached out to Panther, who provided a brief response to our inquiry:

"It's a bad name, is all. 'Spit'? It yucks me out. I don't want to hear people walking around talking about drinking spit."

When asked if there was room for compromise, the regional leader was adamant:

"Absolutely not. No way, no how. No siree bob. I stand by my actions. And I won't back down. Hey, I will stand my ground. No, I won't back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down."

Pressed further, he offered a possible solution to the crisis:

"Well, maybe if they put those little green "Mr. Yuk" stickers on every bottle...I guess that could work. Because that's how I feel when I hear about their drink: Yuck! And if I feel a particular way, the advertising around me should reflect that."

That's some intense emotion to be feeling. Great song, thanks for sharing. I'd not heard any of his music outside of film scores.

Happy New year! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I'm gonna guess it's for the start of the school year, I don't know where Riv's from but here in the UK I've just had my first day back. It was nice to be back in school physically, but also ... lessons 😭

Heard that Zimmer tune live. It’s good, but not as good as this -

Ah, cool. So the academic year starts @ September, in the UK??
Here, in IND, all the academic institutions start operating in mid-June.
Well, this year has been a bit different, with the pandemic and all that. We are having online lectures, instead of normal college.

Yeah, it's started as usual here in September with everyone full-on back in the building. That's interesting that you start in mid-June ... is it something to do with the weather? I know that for example in Italy they restart school a few weeks into September because any earlier it's way too hot to be productive.
