ADU Declares War
Late yesterday a declaration of war was received by our Ambassador that stated within 24 hours war would start between the ADU and the Union. As a result all forces have been put on condition Orange.
Condition Orange is full readiness for anything from a hostile nation. Once war starts in earnest then it will be uped to condition Red.
Meanwhile our allies in Ireland prepared all there forces for what they expect will be a full invasion. The Irish President has issued an order that all fighting age people are to be called up if possible. To form militias as there will likely not be enough time to train them properly.
Furthermore, the US issued this warning that should the ADU attack any of its allies it will result in war. Furthermore, after the declaration was issued the Solar Alliance issued this statement "we implore both sides to come to the table and discuss their issues rather than go to war."

The Empire of Parakka has said they will look at issing sanctions on the ADU for their declaration of war against

Occitania and Gaul back ADU Allies!
The Occitan People's General Staff and Prime Minister Adrien Blaise announced today that Occitania and Gaul would support De anglo dutch union in the upcoming conflict in Northern Europe. The OPGS said that "The ADU will receive some of our finest men in the Foreign Legion to fight on their side..." and that "The Occitan Navy will be fully mobilized and the Occitan Air Force will be available on reserves in worst case scenario..."
Additionally, Occitania and Gaul have issued a stern warning to the United States Government: Cease the encroachment upon Occitania and the UK's assets in North America and rescind support of Parann or risk dissolving what little European respect the United States has."
In the naval department, men and women are hugging and saying goodbye to their families in order to board their vessels and planes. For the most part, the Occitan navy has been on the backburner of Occitan mobilization, but due to the war with Equatorial Guinea and the tensions rising all over the world, the Occitan People's Navy was massively mobilized into their task forces, trained in their patrol areas, and dispatched to ensure Occitan assets. The OPGS said, "Occitans and Gauls of the overseas territories, do not fear. The Occitan Navy is always present. You will be as safe there as you will be on the Hexagon. To our Anglo-Dutch allies: The same."
The SPO Alsace was met with applauds and a crowd today as it sailed into port in Bermuda, ADU. Normally, this would be seen as an act of war, but under these circumstances and with recent events, the Alsace will most likely call Bermuda its home until further notice.
In response to critics arguing over Occitania's presence in the Americas, Prime Minister Blaise spoke, "Our presence in the Americas is necessary. It is necessary to protect our assets and the ADUs assets in whatever may follow. We will protect and patrol our Economic Zones and our territories and will turn away any unauthorized ships. That includes Federalist ships.
Unfortunately, the OPGS has not released any other statements at this time.
Equatorial Guinea Forms First Communal Government | Central African Confederation Goes Silent
With resistance and peace coming to Equatorial Guinea following the war earlier this year, Equatorial Guinea has formed its own, local legislative body respectively called "The Commune." To align with Occitania's wishes and those set by the Treaty of Naifang, the representatives will vote on limited local maters and will be allowed to represent Equatorial Guinea in The Commune and Senate in Occitania.
Occitania also dispatched a Provisional Governor to Equatorial Guinea: Izba Vanquene. He is an Occitan natural citizen and half Fang--the largest demographic in Equatorial Guinea. He is a member of Parti Altruisme Occitanien and plans on rebuilding Equatorial Guinea and making it a bastion of Socialism for Occitania and the world.
The Central African Confederation also has seemed to quiet down in response to Occitania's continued presence in Equatorial Guinea. We have reports of infighting over the next step so this may spell the end of the Central African Confederation as we know it.
Preparations are Being Made For Communal Day
With Communal Day fast approaching, many Occitans and Gauls who aren't involved in the current mobilization are preparing the nations for Communal Day which celebrates the union between Occitania and Gaul that was signed into legitimacy in 1871 following the continued existence of the Paris Commune founded earlier that year. Reports say that there will be a three day festival and many bands both local and foreign will be playing at concerts.
Diebolde Incorporated buys out Israeli Innovations
An agreement was signed today between Diebolde Inc., a private Gaul tech company and partially state owned Israeli Innovations where the Diebolde would assume full ownership of II and its assets and subsidies. The agreement was reached over a staggering 455.88 million Occitan Francs estimated to be approximately 80 million USD. This is expected to benefit the Gaul and Occitan economies greatly in the long run.
This also means that Diebolde has acquired the new processor put out by the Israeli company: the X64-86. We'll see what this acquisition brings in the future.

The clouds were dark and it was raining on this cold November night. It was pretty normal but ironic nonetheless. As if the earth itself knew what was coming and was reacting to it. This did not stop the Men on the airfield from doing their job.
20 Tornado’s where taxid to the large runway and each of them was put information. This was to make each Tornado take off as quickly as possible after the one before them took of. For a moment all that could be heard was the sound of the Tornado’s their jets warming up. Then the deafening sound of the Tornado putting its full afterburners on became louder and louder.
The first Tornado took off, then the next, then the next, then the next, until all of the Tornadoes wherein the air and flying in formation. They flew over the North sea staying relatively low to avoid radar and civilian air traffic as much as possible. They flew over various Royal Navy formations in the North sea heading to their targets.
50 Km from their target they began their attack run by increasing their speed. for a moment silence as they came closer and closer. Their final call in came the call that would say if it was a go or they would abort the mission.
The light on each of the pilots and their weapon officers turned green this was the sign operation Valkery was a go.
They breached airspace around Bergen. They went lower and close to Bergen military airfields they dropped their payload. they payload consisting of Air-to-Surface fire and forget bombs went to their pre assignment coordinates. The Bergen airfield, The explosions of runway destroying bombs, and Ammunition and oil deposits being destroyed, as well as large hangars and aircraft on the runway. lighted up the sky as alarms around the city went of... but they where already getting the hell out of there
The same was happening in Sola with its military Airbase destroyed at the cost of 1 tornado which was hit by Surface to air defence missile and crashed in the mountain. But at the cost of the entire airfields runway its runway being unusable. This was happening with various other Airbases on the coast of Norway that posted an immediate threat tot the UK.
In Denmark 4 RAF strike squadrons that took from the Netherlands towards Denmark avoiding Germany her air-space and moving into an attack position. The Danish bases of Karup, Vandel, And Skrydstrup. all 3 of them were hit with by the squadrons with vwrying levels of succes. Destroying their forward operations and fuel depots. as well as communication and radar towers preventing a complete lock on, only for a small moment,.
While the Norwegian attack went rather well all things considered. The Danish group didn’t have as much success. Due attacking a far more urbanized area it was quickly intercepted by Surface to air missiles, with the Karup base mission only being a success barely.
All Squadrons involved in operation Valkyrie as soon as their missions where completed moved back to their bases as fast as possible. As they retreated more jets got in the air to make sure no Parann jets tailed them.
Of the 36 planes total send 5 where outright destroyed by AA fire, 2 had to abort their attack runs, and 10 Where damaged
Ireland theatre of operations general overview set up
At 04:16 Royal Navy Ships that that surrounded Ireland began their coordinated strike missile on Known Irish defenses, and Key wartime industrial capacity.
The Casement Aerodrome home of the Irish Air Force was hit with By multiple Surface to air missiles, destroying the Air field. Haulbowline The Irish Navy her home port was hit as well the small island going up in smoke so to speak as its fuel depots where hit. The missiles hit radio and radar towers providing temporarily causing chaos.
At 04:27, 20 Harris Transports, 8 Troop and 12 Sky cranes, And 10 Apache Attack helicopters, launched from 3 Troop transports and landing docks. The group split up one group Landed in the fields of Ballydwan, deploying their Ajax scout variant. While the other group landed in Rathnure, deploying their Ajax’s as well.
The same was happening around Clonea beach as 10 Harris transports delivered their cargo of Ajax scout variants.
The area seemed to be clear… as in both locations The troops first sent I. Started to secure the area as best as they could. Given both were sparsely populated and with Burmahon 10 KM removed from the nearest town the job was done relatively quickly the Apaches providing round the clock close fire support and potential armor busters.
They began scouting the area for possible troop movements
At approximately 04:45 the Air and sea around Burmahon and Clonea became more busy then they had been in decades. If you looked from the coast you could see dozens upon dozens small landing craft approaching the coast and Several larger landing craft. Harrier Jump jets launched from the Amphibious assault ships. Flying inland and starting to do reconnaissance.
On both beaches several large Amphibious landing craft lowered their ramps, the dozens of smaller craft unloaded their cargo.. Royal Marines. All of they began to set up an area of operations and connecting the two landing posts to each other.
By 05:21 they had managed to establish a proper beachhead, with several Light artillery, Rapier missiles, and Warrior IFVs. With more reinforcements being holded in, they had secured the area around Clonea easily encountering little to no resistance. But With sun slowly rising the soldiers that had digged in knew they had a long day ahead of them.

Norway & Denmark Front
With the recent attack carried out by the ADU, some how managing to get past the air and naval patrols the attacks in Denmark where more of a success than in Norway seemingly. However both Sola and Bergan cities and military installations where hit killing at least 15,000 people with the majority being civilians. Or so the report had read this morning, one good bit of news i suppose was the death of one of the heirs to the Danish thrown. That will certainly change their view to the war.
As a result we had launched three squadrons to attack RAF base of Merrywith Hill the attack was a success destroying the airbase but we lost two out of the three squadrons. Furthermore, eight squadrons had been deployed to hit the Royal Navy Bases of Moray Firth in Scotland and Edinburgh. Again both strikes where a success though the attack on Edinburgh was restricted to government and infrastructure targets only. Though again only a couple of squadron returned home safe. Meanwhile a large naval battle was under way in the North Sea, at present the battle seems evenly matched but it would only be a matter of time till the ADU gained the upper hand especially if Occitania provides naval support.
Air Patrols had been increased around Norway and Denmark, with the aim of trying to fortify the main positions here in the Union where possible in order to allow no further breaches in our defences.
Ireland Front
Clonea - 0630: The decision had been taken by Irish Command that it would be best to keep the Dutch at the beaches or if not possible to do that then to make them bleed and so that was General O'Neal plan. Looking throw his binoculars he could just make out the ADU forces mobilising and building fortifications, it seemed to the General that this was going to be their beach head or at least at the moment. Will that wouldnt do he thought to himself, before turning to his communications officer "Tell Command to fire two missiles on there position..." He looked at me for a moment stunned and replied "General are you sure the imp..." "I just gave you an order Soldier, Command knows we cant hold them off forever but we need to make them bleed and bleed they will" i snapped.
Moments later the two missiles flew overhead and landed on the ADU position and destroying it in its entirety, i took a deep breath and smiled for a moment "that will slow them down for a bit" just as a couple of ADU planes flew overhead seeming heading in the direction the Missiles came from.
Burmahon - 0712: It had been decided to deploy the Irish 3rd Brigade, along with three armoured Regiments, along with support from the Irish airforce or what remained of it to try and halt the tide here in Burmahon. Unlike General O'Neal in Clonea who was happy to blow up his home land, i wasnt i decided. Thus i had brought my forces closer to the invaders and would meet them head on. Command had been clear that the Army, Airforce and Navy's main job was to make the ADU bleed whilst Irish Special Forces spent time forming resistance cells for what we all knew would be the conquest of Ireland.
Rathnure - 0718 Reports had suggesd that the ADU had managed to land forces here or at least thats what had been fed down to the local militias, thus it fell to us to try and route them out... not that we would succeed much given that we had very little training and most of us couldn't even shoot a gun strait but we knew if we wanted a Free Ireland then we had to fight for it and that was why the majority of us would do what we had to do, or so i told myself as i lead my group east of where the supposing landing was. There was a hundred of us in the Rathnure Militia, so we had split into three groups to look for these invaders. Personally i wasnt looking forward to the prospect of having to kill someone and i still wasnt sure why i had been named leader, maybe it was the hope of others that i would be the first to die when the shooting started. Who knew, but i intended to survive... I had to survive for my little girl...
North American Front
The attack on Bermuda had met a lot of resistance but we had the numbers and thus had managed to devastate the military assets on the island, we had also begun landing US Navy Seals and other teams on the island, it had already been decided that we would try and take the island. Though we knew when the Occitania and Gaul forces arrived that might change things, though by then we hopped to have the island under our control or at least most of it.

Spain refuses to join the war
The Spanish government have refused a request by Parann and Ireland for their assistance in the war sighting "This war is a no win scenario for your nations and we are not going to participate in something where we have no hope in winning. However, we condemn both ADU and France for their actions and thus will be placing economic sanctions on their respective nations which will see business assets seized and given to Spanish companies"
Death Tole Rises
With the attacks in Norway and Denmark being carried out in the early hours of the morning, the original estimate was thought to be 8,000 people, but now officials have said its around 15,000. A local Government official in Norway said "This is the greatest loss of live we have ever seen in our nations history." A spokeman from the Danish Royal Family said "We can confirm that both Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife Princess Marie of Denmark who where second in line for the throne where among the casualties in Denmark" This is the first time in a long while the Danish have lost a member of the royal family to war.

The Imperial Government of Japan and the Imperial Government of Icositania recently agreed to begin accepting applicants to live in each other's nations for a period of ten years. Up to 10,000 applicants will go through a strict check to ensure that they will not be any hazard to the other nation's people and society. This is the first such programme that Icositania has participated in, and it hopes that the programme will open new doors for the nation.
Icositanian Pop-Star Found Dead in Occitanian Hotel
Icositanian pop-star Fatima Sakurai et Jeunici was found dead Sunday night in her hotel room in Marseille, Occitania while on tour. Occitan police say that she was found by her manager, after she didn't show up for a tour of the arena and wasn't answering calls. Occitan police have concluded she died from multiple stabs to the throat and chest with a machete. Police have not found the murderer, while the Imperial Government of Icositania continues to put pressure to find the killer.
Fans have gathered outside the headquarters of Šorisštreye Entertainment, Sakurai's label, in Kongšetainye, Icositania. They bring flowers and gifts of remembrance to the front of the building.

Two Days After Invasion of Bermuda
Captain Seyres looks out over the ship from the command deck. Off approximately ten miles from the fore of the modern Multipurpose Frigate lays Bermuda. He was ordered to keep a safe distance from Bermuda as the Alsace and Foch Militarie were the only two Occitan ships within range of Bermuda. The Federalist Navy had struck quickly. Formidably. Despite landing in Bermuda before the invasion, the Alsace went on patrol and the Federalists struck and won before the ship was able to return to Bermuda. Now, through the telescope, one could see a handful of Federalist ships on the horizon between Occitania and Bermuda. A communications officer turns from his console,
"Captain, word from the Charles de Gaulle, their ETA is three days."
"Three days? Copy. Ring up the Foch Militarie and the ADU squadron; we'll be organizing a counter attack soon."
"Aye, aye."
Bermuda. What a pity. From what intelligence he's gathered, Bermuda was all but completely annihilated. A small band of UKSF specops--Royal Marines--were providing information for the counteroffensive. I'm not sure how they could let such an island go so quickly...but its our job to retake it...damn Anglo-Dutch, leaving us to do the real work out here.
"Sir, the Squadron of ADU ships are en route to our position."
"What about our ships in the Caribbean?"
The Communications Officer presses a few buttons, "Nominal, sir. They've met no Federalist ships and all bases are currently on Yellow."
The Captain nods, Smart Federalists... Seyres pulls a microphone to his mouth from the console, "Lieutenant Lecerf, please report to the Captain's ready room." He puts the microphone down then addresses the Communications Officer, "Lieutenant, you have the bridge." Seyres moves to his ready room.
Lecerf meets the Captain a few minutes later, "You wanted to see me, Captain?"
"Yes, Lecerf. You work with Undertow, right?"
"Did, sir, yes."
"How many of them do we have right now?"
"Only five, sir."
"How much is Aeronaval bringing?"
"Enough for a well made invasion."
Captain Seyres nods, "Good. We'll have to run interference until then."
Lecerf nods. Seyres addresses Lecerf again, "Any tactical information you want to bestow upon me?"
"Well, from intelligence, the Federalist navy is small, but formidable--for us. They have nearly their whole navy out there, it's like a beehive. Their one Aircraft Carrier is somewhere between Bermuda and Maryland escorted by a task force. Federalist Navy Seals and infantry are currently entrenching Bermuda for our counterattack, but with support from the Charles de Gaulle, it should prove interesting."
"And we're sure we plus Aeronaval will dislodge the Federalists?"
"Straight against, yes, but without the extra support from our subs, it'll be costly--it may even cost the Charles."
"So we interdict them?"
"Interdiction and base strikes."
Captain Seyres nods, "Well if we keep a close eye on the Federalists we could probably pick them off with the help of the Anglo-Dutch."
"Yes, sir."
"Good. Dismissed."

The Occitan People's Foreign Legion is prepared for your orders. It consists of 30,000 men and women and they will be equipped with standard Occitan equipment. They are regular-trained troops and will need minimal training to use ADU equipment. Colonel Newman begins. He pulls down a projector screen from the presentation side of the room. He grabs a remote and clicks a couple times and slides appear with intelligence pictures of the Occitan Navy. "Gentlemen, this is the current Occitan presence near Bermuda. Our intelligence suggests that there is one other ship somewhere in the vicinity but we have been unable to locate it. Intelligence also suggests the Royal Navy has a squadron in the Caribbean and that they may be en route to meet up with the Occitan ships."
A general perks up, "Why don't we go ahead and sink those French ships? There's only two of them."
"Their ships are faster than ours, and the Independence is unable to provide aerial support because it is currently receiving more planes in D.C. If we followed them, they'd separate us and those ships would be in a dangerous position."
"So send the subs after them."
"Their frigates have SONAR and detection planes, we'd have to have them preoccupied for our subs to strike."
"So what the hell do we do?"
"I suggest we continue on our path: we have enough escort ships to protect our supply ships for now until the Occitans and Anglo-Dutch reorganize. If we utilize this time, we should be able to fortify Bermuda enough to withstand their attacks."
Suddenly, an aide barges into the meeting room and hands the Colonel a folder and promptly leaves. He reads it for a moment, then slams it down on the table.
"What's the issue, Colonel?" President Gore asks.
"We just got reports that the Occitan subs deployed, and the Aeronaval group is closing in on Bermuda."
"What does this mean, Colonel?"
"Means we're running on borrowed time. We need the Independence. Now. I don't know how you gentlemen feel having nuclear ballistic missiles pointed right at every one of our cities."

Scandinavian Fleet Routed
The Scandinavian Fleet has been routed and has been ordered to regroup around Norway and Denmark, and help sure up the defences there to prevent any further attacks on the Union Mainland. Admiral Lund said "We are badly outnumbered and have suffered serious loses in this war, despite it only been going on for less than a week" when we asked the Admiral about the decision to pull back the naval forces she said "... personally i think we need to be out there doing a hit and run attacks but with the sheer numbers amassed against us it would be pointless... i guess the best thing we can do is help sure up the union borders."
No official figures have been posted as of yet but it is estimated that one third of the Union Navy has been lost or still deployed somewhere in the Mediterranean. Furthermore, whilst the Army for the most part remains at full strength, the same cannot be said for the Airfoce, who took heavily losses defending our airspace and attacking the ADU.
However, this morning report from local media suggest that Parann airfoces launched a number of strikes on Afsluitdijk and Oosterscheldekering in addition to raids being carried out on Leeuwarden Air Base and three power stations where hit in England causing power cuts for thousands of residence. A spokeman for the airforce said "These attacks are about diverting ADU resources from the war into protecting their civilians. Waterford Ireland To Fall?
ADU forces are said to be within 5 miles of the City of Waterford, it is thought -though not confirmed - that the city has suffered some bombing from ADU forces. Meanwhile civilians are said to be fleeing the city in their thousands to the City of Galway which is said to be where the government have retreated to along of where the last main elements of the Irish forces are stationed. Though again we are unable to confirm any of this due to the communications blackout that is in effect due to the war.

My forces in Rathnure didnt survive long, we were either cut down or captured by ADU special forces that were operating in the area, luckily for me, i and five others managed to escape in time to warn our families. however, upon our arrival back in the village it was already well under ADU forces, so we hid and watched as people were rounded up and into the village square and made to sit on the wet floor under guard.
An old man i knew to be Joshua who once served in the military, stood up and said to one of the soldiers "Let us go we have rights" the Solder turned and said "Sit down old man before i make you sit", i stood where we were in our hiding spot watching as the scene unfolded. Joshua just stood there still and defiant, so the the ADU Soldier said again "Sit down" and again Joshua just stood there, it was quicker than i thought, the solder brought his riffle up and smashed the butt of it into the Joshua face, and he went down blood streaming from his nose. The women who were there started shouting in outrage, whilst the kids, in particular the younger ones started crying. quicker than i thought possible the situation just deteriorated, the solders turned their weapons onto the crowed and ordered them to stop, when they didnt and started to heckle the soldiers and become more and more unruly three of the solders opened fire.
I stood routed to the spot, transfixed on the scene before me as 8 women and children were shot dead for nothing more than angry words. The rage that i was feeling was unbelievable and i took out my gun and ran forward towards the guards and opened fire. One, two and three the guards were down dead, my other companions were following me and had shot the other 4 guards. I shouted "Flee now! Run! before reinforcements turn up" at that the crowed broke up and ran in multiple directions. My companions where standing next to me urging me to move but i looked down and saw the face of my little girl staring up at me with her mother for a knew that hair colour laying on top of her trying to shield her from the bullets. I knew without checking that thy were both dead, and a part of me at that moment had died with them. i kneeled down and picked up my daughters teddy bear and took of my wife's necklace carefully and then got up and ran, my companions following me.
At that moment as i raced down the street i vowed to kill every last Dutchman i came into contact with, innocent or not. I would avenge my family, and the other innocent people killed...

In what seems like another cowardly attack Parann forces have attacked the Afsluitdijk causing a hole of 200 meters in its section closest to Friesland. This has caused the salt sea water and lakes to fuse causing untold damage as well as risiking over 3 Million people to flooding should a storm break out.
Prime minister Lancaster called the attack cowardly and in the same statement said the following.
“While I can say our forces have tried to avoid civilian casualties as much as possible in this war… it seems Parann has no such doubts. Attack the Afsluitdijk and power stations in England.
While I am happy to say their failed attack on Leeuwarden was quickly ended by the brave men of our Air Force.. in their continuing series of what seems to be civilian targets be it Edinburgh, The Afsluitdijk And what we thought was an attack on the Oosterscheldekering but which was quickly dealt with, then their attack in the English coast.. it again shows what kind of enemy we are really fighting.”

Irish front is steady
While in general news from Ireland has been sparse due the high intensity of combat right now, Parann news channels have reported that the Irish Government has fled from Dublin to the west of the country in fear of our advance.
Already the battle for Waterford is well underway and Local media reporting that there is heavy fighting around Cork but That is unconfirmed. While other reports say that the 6th Airborne division has been deployed to Ireland reported in the north of the country.

The war in Ireland was going well all things considered, while the remainder of the Irish government has fled UK forces are gaining more ground and have achieved Air superiority over the country and started strikes on key Irish infrastructure and military positions. This achieved the breakout of the UK forces out of their positions and are now facing more and more guerilla attacks as they move deeper and deeper into the countryside and are heading for Clonmel only that has not been confirmed.
Meanwhile Irish forces are being pushed back more and more with the 11th Air assault Regiment having been able to capture the City of cork after intense street fighting that costed 34% of the regiments overall strength. While the 6th Airborne division has landed Londonderry securing the city after limited fighting. This allowed for the 5th Division to move into ireland in full force.
However despite the success of our forces in Ireland, some parts of ireland are defended heavily. and losses are getting higher with an estimated 1781 soldiers already being killed in combat, with the Erasmus class light frigates HMS Brathford, and HMS Flying shield being sunk as they tried to attack the city of Galway from the coast against orders. Their crew has been rescued, with 23 Death total on both ships.
Nordic front
Royal marines with support from the Royal Navy have begun Taking over various oil and gas platforms belonging to norway, in the North sea and nordic sea. Outside of those operations no major Operations have taken place outside of the occasional skirmish in the air. But now casualties have been reported so far.
The Royal Marines and Royal Navy have reportedly dubbed the operation Water Nymph, however that has not been confirmed. The operation is meant to either capture or destroy Norwegian oil and gas assets to take away the ability to replenish their oil and gas reserves.

With the opening of the Afsluitdijk.. To prevent it from flooding over het Ijsselmeer and thus endangering 5 million people. It is done to relief pressure of Dike ring 14 thus preventing floods should a large storm hit the netherlands.

Moskodovnyan Navy deploys forces into the Baltic Sea. Admiral of the Navy claims a military exercise is underway.
Approximately 12 hours ago, the Moskodovnyan North Sea Fleet, which remained largely unscathed during the War was deployed in a so called 'military exercise' in the Baltic Sea. Included in this deployment are the Aircraft Carriers Admiral Kuznetsov and Saveliy Miron, which are practicing Anti Submarine Warfare, assisted by several cruisers and destroyers. Moskodovnya has also announced the construction of its newest aircraft carrier, the Mikhail Kalinin, which is due to be complete in mid-2000 and in commission soon after. This will be the second Nuclear Powered carrier of the Orel-class, after the Boris Moskodov-Nikolaevna was sunk during the civil war.

It has emerged this morning that the president of Finland has been discovered dead, by his aid Aava who has been described as a rising star within the civil service. President Martti Ahtisaari is one of leaders who signed the Scandinavian Union Treaty of Parann which brought together Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Despite the war Finland’s Government have decided to take a three days in morning at which time in accordance with the constitution of the Scandinavian Union Article 45 paragraph 18, which states:
During war time and should the leader of a member nation die then the civil service takes over the running of the nation till the conclusion of the war. Unless the political parties of that nation are opposed in which case the office of The President of The Union will take temporary control of that nation until the war conclusion.
The idea of this is to reduce the chance for civil unrest within a member nation during a time of war in these situations where the line of succession isn’t clear cut.

Waterford
It was raining, raining hard as the rain splattered down on the land making the ground muddy and wet. Sometimes a flash of lightning illuminating the area, Dark outlines of the IFVs, APCs, and hundreds of troops lighted up for a moment showing steely eyes and grim faces. Their gaze fixed upon a city, a city that stood in the way, a city that could become a blooth bath for both sides.
The small city of Waterford was from its south and west side from one river bank to the other completely surrounded. Surrounded by the 34th Brigade that was dug in 3 KM from the city itself, behind them their AJAXs and Warriors ready to attack, And 10 KM behind them stood 12 pieces of Artillery of the 4th Welish infantry battalion all aimed at the city. The city that was at either the eve of a battle that would go down in the history books as bloody or a peaceful occupation.
Rain, thunder all made for a grim setting, far away the sound of artillery firing could be heard, of a battle close enough to be heard but far enough not to form a problem for them.
Colonel Cooper Hudson stood in the field between his lines and that of the Irish, only 2 soldiers flanked him acting as his “Guard”, This was unusual it might have been in a trap but if that where the case Waterford would be in more trouble than before.
He walked towards the city quittely, the rain made his trenchcoat soaked but he did care for he had something much more important on his mind. Peace his peace, he thought to himself that it was funny, people talk about but they always forget one man's peace is another man's defeat.
He walked past the Irish lines but he did not look at the soldiers that where dug, for he knew how they looked, Anger and sadness would likely dominate their facial expressions, He looked ahead and walked into the city limits. The 2 men that flanked stayed quiet their faces half covered but their eyes showed that watched..
He then saw the man who was intended to speak with, Commander Finn Griffith, He wore the typical dark green uniform of Irish officers with the orange ribbon on his left shoulder. He stood there flanked by 10 men, and like him, all of their clothing seemed to be soaked to an extent.
Hudson gave a simple salute to Griffith, who saluted back and for a moment it was quit nobody said anything. That was until Griffith spoke up first.
“Lets talk” was all he said and he held his hand out, it pointed to a small house on his left. They all walked to the house and entered it. It was clear this used to be the home of someone but he put this out of his mind for now.
Hudson looked at Griffith and could see the pain on his face for what he was about to do. Griffith began to speak his voice in a thick Irish accent, and almost sore.
“How will we be treated ?”
He sounded reluctant to ask even, and the fact that he had to ask felt odd to Hudson but in the end they where the invaders so he could not blame him.
“You and your men will become prisoners of war and be relocated to the Isle of man. There you will stay for the remainder of this conflict and be cared for by the laws that govern the treatment of prisoners of war, And the international red cross will assist and monitor in you and your men's treatment, and care.”
Griffith nodded simply he was silent for a moment, seemingly contemplating his future choice. Hudson kept his composure not really knowing what would happen next but he had to keep calm. Griffith spoke up again.
“What I hold you captive what will happen then ?”
Hudson had expected this question and per standard protocol, in these cases, he had prepared accordingly so..
“Then my men will attack the city and I hope to avoid this battle, we both know it will not end well and with the bridge destroyed your civilians are trapped and we do not want to harm those. You might take my words or say I am bluffing but know that I and my men want to prevent a slaughter for both of us.”
Griffith was silent again looking at Hudson trying to read him. His voice did not betray what he felt and Hudson spoke up.
“You fought bravely and in the end, you fulfil your task you are protecting the civilians, And I guarantee you personally we will treat them as is required by international laws regarding occupation.”
Griffith stood up slowly not saying anything and now he looked down at Hudson, Hudson's men stood silent their rifles in front of them and fingers just above the trigger ready to strike if needed.
“I will be called a traitor. But I will have done my task, You can guarantee it that after the war my men will return home ?”
He asked showing to Hudson what he carried about. Hudson stood up as well looking at Griffith, “Yes” he said simply. Griffith held out his hand for Hudson to shake, And he did.
“Then I surrender this city” His voice showing a hint of regrets. Behind Hudson, a soldier spoke over the radio, “Charlie go”.
Griffith gave one of his men a signal to communicate to the lines and forces in the city to put their weapons in the city centre.
And as Hudson began talking the final details of the surrender, Irish troops laid down their weapons for they knew this would likely happen. Commander Griffith did not do this without the consent of his men. Most of these men just wanted to go home they were not majority Regulars,, they where militia or reserves they had families and jobs to get back to.
As UK forces moved into the city slowly but surely. They began moving all the Irish soldiers into one place outside the city separating the officers from the normal soldier for security. And as the Irish flag was lowered from city hall and the Union flag was raised.

With the fall of Waterford to the ADU, the Irish President has ordered the consolidation of forces, in what has been described as Operation Last Stand.
"It is clear to me know with the fall of Waterford its has become obvious that we cannot win this war by going toe to toe with ADU forces. As such we will begin the organised consolidation of our forces. Commando and Grillia teams will still be in operation outside of the consolidation zone." The President said this afternoon.
We understand that military forces as they are being withdrawn will also look to destroy key pieces of infrastructure such as bridges and roads all with the intent of slowing down ADU forces.
Meanwhile in Dublin and Belfast loyalist forces to Ireland have vowed to remain in the cities and fight the invaders. One unknown commander spoke to one of reporters earlier and he said "we will use whatever it takes to drive out the invaders including chemical weapons and dirty bombs..."
Most well know that Ireland have a ban on all chemical weapons and was among the first signatories to sign up to the Solar Alliance Chemical Weapons Disarmament Treaty. This means that the our nation does not use or sanction the use of chemical weapons that are rumoured to be in use by ADU forces. Though that is unconfirmed.

Today it has been decreed by King that the Strait of Sicily will be closed to all traffic that is going to and from the ADU. This decision will only be in effect whilst the ADU are engaged in their unjust war.

Nuclear Weapons Tests Prove Successful
Reports are sketchily but unofficial sources within the military claim that the Aegean Empire has successfully carried out a nuclear weapons test in an under ground facility in Turkey. If this is true that means the Empire would have the technology and capability of building a nuclear weapons stockpile. However, protest movements have started on the back of this speculation, as they fear by another would power having nuclear weapons will only lead to the worlds eventual destruction.
