Sometimes whether they're hitting too hard or not hitting hard enough you can just tell the person has no idea what this would actually feel like and it's almost insulting to me to watch them pretend lol. I need my movie joy, sadness, anger, whatever, to be full and real. It's just so obvious when it's not.

Yeah definitely, fake feelings are the worst in media. ;-;

She was raiding! Not the rejected realms, but once a raid is finished nations either leave or get booted to the rejected realms so the raider leaders can refound the region.

One has to Vanish to dramatically re-appear at the right time.

Nineteen Lights wrote:Question of the Day!

What is the most important part of a movie to you? Characterization, cinematography, plot? None of these?

I think the most important thing has to be some kind of deeper message or conflict below the surface level events that are occurring. I think without this you get that sense of pointlessness or dissatisfaction when you've finished a movie, like "what was the point?", and when you do have it you feel like you've learnt something or at least like your life was enriched in some way.

Question of the Day!
Do you feel like art or media have a responsibility to be delivering an important message through their medium? Does art need to be profound? Does art for art's sake have a different purpose?

I feel like art delivers a message even if it's just for art's sake. It's created by people, and because of that people put little things into their art that conveys a message, emotion, feeling, or idea. There is a difference between something created specifically to convey a message and something that is created for the sake of creation, but both still contain some idea the artist communicated. There's value in both.

Not nessecarily. Art can just be whatever, a message will come if it's what the creator desires.

Little bit of an announcement:

Simulacrum is going to shift away from trying to be a traditional region to a region that is primarily focused on being super casual and working on our bimonthly magazine Rogue. Because of that, you're likely going to see nation counts fall as we stop trying to recruit like a traditional region. There's a few reasons for this: ROGUE has been our vision from day one, at least mine, and is really why I started to think of the idea of Simu being an artist collective in the first place. Second: none of our regional leadership has the time to foster the growth of a traditional regional community. It's unfair to people to rope them in and then not provide what we promise in the rec TGs. That being said-- you're free to keep your nations here and chat as we always have. And you're free to join the discord and hangout as well.

I know it's weird, but ultimately I think thgis will still allow us to fulfill the initial idea of the region and eventually branch out into some other goals. Thanks for all of the support you guys have given us so far. <3
