The Catholic State of Eire wrote:The Jesuits would have a bit of presence here, but I think most of them are either in Dublin or Galway, none in the North of Ireland that I know of. Perhaps they may have 10-15 priests here. Vocations I think they are having trouble compared to the Dioceses and Orders, so I'm sure they are eager for anyone who's interested. Anti-clericalism is rife in the south of Ireland, and distrust is of course down to the abuse crisis, which scarred the Church terribly. Of course this is also the result of a more secular culture as well.

Thanks for the prayers, the Passionists is a small congregation in Ireland but they have five students, four for priesthood and one training to be a brother. I'm told that there will be, I think, five others at this vocation weekend so I'd say the Passionists are doing well, all things considered.

Here's the Irish Jesuit Website if your more curious about them: https://www.jesuit.ie/

Are they largely orthodox however? Thanks for the link btw!

Okay, well let's pray you'd make it then! They sound like a fine bunch. But say, would you have to go to the south for that?

UM is destroying the region with the gay agenda. This is exactly what Peter predicted.

Well, I've never had personal experience with them myself so i'm not sure, I'll try and find out from someone who has first hand experience with them though.

Thanks, i'm just back from the retreat there and as always very spiritually uplifting and edifying. The priests there are extremely knowledgeable, personable and holy men. In terms of where you'd be educated their student residence is actually in the north, in saying that they are headquartered in Dublin.

Fully automated luxury gay space communism. That's what you let happen.

Truly, that is a Catholic's worst nightmare!

Well when things go wrong the only thing to do is to scapegoat, so United Massachusetts, I blame everything on you and deny any responsibility for all of this.

"All of this" is progress. Also, ready to add that "liberal" tag? And the "socialist" tag? And the "LGBT+" tag? I am.

That works for most people whose tweets I don't want to read. Apart for Donald Trump, as the news insists on telling me about his tweets all the damn time.

Hard disagree with Bishop Tobin here. Of course, as a Catholic, I cannot promote certain sexual activities, but I also see a value in going out of my way to show LGBT+ people that they are seen, that they are God's children, and that they should be proud -- yes, proud -- of the way God made them. This is particularly true of youth. LGBT+ youth are one of the most at-risk demographics in the United States (four times more likely to commit suicide than their heterosexual or cisgender peers), and oftentimes, this comes out of a feeling that they are not welcome, or are some how wrong for being who they are and liking who they like.

If my little show does even the slightest thing to tell LGBT+ youth that they are welcome, particularly in this region, then that's a good thing. Also, I'd encourage those who have a little bit of change to consider donating to the Trevor Project, which does amazing work preventing suicide among LGBT+ youth.

Death to Twitter and an end to those who report on it like its news!

Or it comes out the lifestyle they follow, which has always prided itself on its socially deviant nature and is accordingly "at-risk" by nature.
Just ask Oscar Wilde, or Aesthetes, or Hippies.

Homosexuality and anything that is apart of the LGBTQIA+ is complex. In my opinion it is unnatural. Non-Heterosexual behaviors are a result of hormonal changes in the human mind and body, so nobody was born that way. However,Transgenderism starts in the minds of children, and it is most likely cause from social alienation and the idealization of the two genders(that most people believe). A boy that is socially alienated and mistreated may want the sexual attraction and attention seeking of a Women. A Girl with gender dysphoria may want to be a boy base solely on the perceived ideals of a strong and independent male.

I believe that Homosexuality and similar behaviors need to be researched more, and perhaps we can remove the idealism of the people that mindlessly love or hate it.

I admit, I've never even gone on the site.

Mind you, I'm often tempted to set up an account that basically tweets criticisms of twitter. Stuff like:

"Nothing worthwhile was ever said in fewer than 281 characters."
"This tweet sounds meaningful, but is not."
"Mumble mumble... something about transgender GM foods... retweet this!"

I had a twitter but deleted it after I found myself always getting angry whenever I hopped on. I even limited it to hockey twitter at one point and even then, garbage.

How is a natural sexual attraction unnatural?

This really is a tremendous oversimplification. The biological genesis of homosexuality is pretty much unknown, but we can establish one thing -- being gay is not a choice. When did you choose to be straight?

Even a quick Wikipedia search proves that this is at the very least a vast oversimplification and probably more properly an outright lie.

Regardless, the reality is that we live in a society where LGBT+ people are discriminated against at nearly every turn. Regardless of our opinion on certain sexual activities, it's worth reaching out to people and reminding them that they are loved and accepted for who they are. That's the point of "pride" -- to destigmatize the marginalized. Gays and lesbians are called to chastity in just as we are, but that doesn't invalidate their very real attractions. It doesn't make those attractions unnatural. And it certainly doesn't mean they've done anything wrong.

There is reaching out to people and assuring them that regardless of who or what they are, they are loved. It's another thing to encourage a culture which is fundamentally encouraging homosexuality. Having pride in your sexuality is a vanity because it's not an achievement, and using sexuality as an identity is nonsense.

1. Well, it isn't natural. Not because it's disgusting ,scary or "Evil", but because it is significantly smaller than the more common heterosexual relationship. Sexual organs, sensations and other behaviors were made by nature for the sole reason of reproduction.

2. There are theories that assume that homosexuality is of hormonal cause. It's not a choice, but that means nothing to me. Most people are heterosexual because puberty was suppose to bring them to that type of orientation, homosexuality is a simple deviation. The "Goodness" or "Badness" of the deviation depends on it's consequences.

3. It is true that the transgenders are disowned by most societies(except in certain isolated communities), but their self desires are base on idealizations of gender norms(gender norms that vary and change). In Iran, they take on the habits of women, in obedience to men, and in Thailand they are treated like Sexual Objects for sex slavery. So, they sacrifice many things for this idealization, which is harmful. Though, the homosexual is only denied because of the values of reproduction in many societies. Societies base on pro-natalism tend to reject it. in terms of western society, we should do more research into it. Examine it, and try to removal all problems associated with it. I will say the LGBTQIA culture encourages questionable behaviors, and that is part of the problem. especially with the embrace of libertine sexual behaviors.
