If I recall correctly, the film is based on a book which is based on a real event.

Specifically this was the inspiration for it: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_frigate_Storozhevoy

Sweet option no. 4 won, we are using golf rules for the run off (I wish). God job to however made the winning design. Glad both of mine (option no. 4 and option no. 6) got to be in it and option no. 4 could have been the new one. I will share the other designs I made for this contest in the art chat on the Discord Server [you can get the invite through the W.F.E. (World Factbook Entry; or the thing you see when you first click on the region)].

the real event was really inspired by the book not really based on any historical context. they added a science fiction element, which I recall failed the science fiction field. okay so the subclass submarine part yes they added silly things to it

Warm Greetings,

Today I want to discuss the RCN map and our regional RP.

First off thank you to those who have posted roleplays, we encourage you to post when you are able. And thank you for our wonderful map Furby and Fluv!

Now I know not everyone is into rp, it's okay, I get it.
Some of you have busy loves and others just are unsure how to rp or don't know how to. That is ok. No one is being asked to rp if they wish not too.

However for those of us that do rp, we know there are many nations not currently on the map;

The world is in chaos...
With the lingering effects of COVID-19 and flaring tensions over a multitude of issues, the nations of the world are on the road back to stability -- or are they? Will your nation be led to health and prosperity, or will it falter and spiral towards ruin? Apply by using the application at the bottom of the factbook! You must post your application on the RMB to be valid, but you can send your claim however you want.

Coming Soon

  1. Don't make a tank of a nation. Make your nation reasonable. RPs are not fun with 10+ superpowers.

  2. It's okay to not be a first world country.

  3. A larger military means a smaller economy. If 5% of your workforce suddenly stops working that's a big hit to the economy.

  4. Don't take up half the map with your nation.

  5. RP in proportion to your land size. Don't take a huge landmass if you aren't posting more than once a month.

  6. Write more than two sentences in a post, but don't write a novel either.

  7. If you are taking too large of a land claim, are too OP, or have a large economy and a large military your application will get rejected.

  8. Please give exact numbers, or even fairly good ballpark figures. "Economy Size: Big" doesn't mean anything.

For the sake of community and to assist those on the map, im asking all those who call RCN home to stake out a claim on the map.
It allows those who rp a better vision of the nation's around them and allows them to mention you even if you don't wish to contribute. It also helps build our community.

You don't have to rp, but at least stake out a claim on the map. Signing up takes less then 5 minutes. If you are unsure, ask the many people on the map for assistance.

If you don't care about how much land you have or other details, tag Fluvannia and state you wish to be added to the map as default.

He in turn can organise a small tract of land with your name on it. It's a win/win for everyone, as I would love to see all RCN nations on the map whether you choose to role play or not.

Also here is our World Building thread, give it a read. You don't have to write novellas, even a small paragraph helps to keep the role play alive and moving in a great direction.

III. Each Clan was a reserved army that they can raise whenever they wish (made up of the men that is, at least, 18 years old, of their lands that is not in the Royal Military.
IV. There has been some debate on whether to end the clan system and go with provinces, even though their is no hostility between the clans anymore. One of the more popular options among the people is the Uchel Brennus creating kingdoms and duchies, while the Uchel Brennus becomes an emperor.
V. The Constitution of Athyncoill (which would be linked here) says the basic freedoms of the people and tells how the government works.
VI. Young King Revan III Scardonet has yet to be married and he is not wanting to get married anytime soon (could lead to a crises in the future).
VII. Each clan's army is made up of weapons that the clan can afford and/or weapons that the people own.
