*After long last the Kzarian scientists have successfully created a usable prototype with significant combat ability. The small backpack of this flame thrower carries two canisters, about 3 feet in diameter each on his back and is made of fluoride-treated Steel with strips of reflective copper plating on the outside to attempt to make it safer for the operator. Unlike most other flamethrowers in the experimental models of the CLF3-thrower there is no propellant gas because the fuel reacts violently with most known elements, instead the flamethrower acts more like a pressure washer which makes the model many times noisier. In field tests the weapon itself proved very effective, effectively burning anything it came into contact with, even substances previously thought to have already been burnt out such as ash and used-charcoal. Kzaria is offering to share the plans for this weapon in hopes it can be used against the Vraxi.*
Deathfall applauds Kzaria and wishes it all the best.
*The Vraxxi have changed tactics slightly. They are now raiding usually quiet nations in quick attacks. These attacks leave little dead, as the Vraxxi are actually abducting the humans, not killing them. Reasons for this are unknown*
As the stalemate prolongs, The Council is using the current status as a window to sneak spies through the border. However this may not be possible due to the recent tightening of the border security, especially on the Saxonian side. Unusual naval action and patterns are showing in the EEZ.
The contact was made to the council. The Council of Bridgman Leaders has accepted to communicate and manage things diplomatically. The Lowlands and Saxony's relations to the Bridgeman community is vital to increase the Bridgeman Border Popularity.
*All Byzantines get into the bunkers, and lock their doors for an indefinite amount of time*
"Economy rose from All-Consuming to Frightening" HAHAHAHAHA
Way ahead of you there, buddy.
With the Saxonian borders slammed shut at the moment that tensions rose, the chance of a spy entering over land is close to impossible. Even if a spy managed to row himself to the Saxonian shore in the darkness of the night, he or she would find great difficulty in procuring any information now that the Saxonian government and its people are experiencing tensions that equal to the period of the international pact. Nevertheless, the capture of a Bridgeman spy would greatly harm the Bridgeman position at the negotiating table as it would come across as hostile actions even though the Saxonian government has not returned fire in the incidental crossing of the border.
The Saxonian appointed negotiator opens the diplomatic sitting with the argument that it is odd that Bridgeview wishes to occupy the province of Brandenburg. The province is more use to the agressor as a trade partner than as rebellious, occupied land. Both the Duchy as Bridgeview are big and powerful economic nations and statistics show that they both prosper from trading with each other. Hence the argument that it is in the Bridgeman interest to have the Duchy as a trade partner, rather than a enemy.
OOC: I hope no one minds that I "jump in" as one of these quiet nations.
*After hoping to run through this situation mostly ignored, Babylatia now realizes that it cannot survive with this tactic.*
*As news circulates that Babylatia too has been attacked by the Vraxxi the populace start to panic, and local governments are loosing ability to coordinate with the Alliance.*
*Kaeto Ashwar, Emergency Governor of the Alliance, has urged the citizens of Babylatia to stay calm and remain in a safe place.*
That graph is a thing of beauty :O
Imgur and Reddit bumps?
Large artificial growth spurts due to some Reddit and imgur posts that spurred a lot of people to join NS.
Post self-deleted by Barren silver.
I was suggesting that they would be used again to draw attention to NS. Obviously, a marketting campaign not only helped the region but the whole site. So maybe we should start advertising again?
It would have to be through AskReddit, that's how it was last time. It was a question about free games to play and NS was mentioned, bringing a lot of people here. Just trying to drop the RIA in posts won't do a lot, and advertising on /r/nationstates doesn't seem to work for anybody.
I meant for NS as a whole and if you guys are still spamming those the recruitment tele's we will see people innevitably start to come in. But, doing it on reddit and all that is the only way, then just look for opprotunities while browsing.
I don't think that would be a good idea, there's no that many opportunities to sell the site on Reddit.
Redditors also visit reddit because they like Reddit not because they want people from other sites shilling for that site every chance they get. The fact that Reddit also requires you to make publically assessable account it would be quite clear that whoever shilled for NS was a shill.
Not necessarily. We could always get someone here with an already-active account and have them do it.
Would still be very annoying
Which I'm ready to finish any time you are.
I'd suggest waiting until the post comes up again on AskReddit. It's a fairly common one. If it does we can make sure to point out NS.
Also, we need to make sure we're prepared before we try to bring on a huge surge like that again. We probably won't be buying stamps again, so we need to have a full staff of recruiters who know the rules and can send invitations. The mentors will need to keep up. The RP mods were amazing last time, but knowing they have support would make me feel better. We need RP guides or something like that so newcomers can brush up a little on the regional lore and the way we do some things.
After the surge, what comes next? Do we have enough going on to keep them interested for more than a day? We obviously didn't last time, which you can see in the way that spike dropped off real quick.
The number is the smallest part of it, really. We need to make sure we're ready before we plan for the spike.
Gotcha, by the way, I was one of the people who were attached to this from the beginning of the spike. Might just be because I am a History/Political Science major, but I think people apart from that crowd would have lots of fun here. Hell, we are starting to make reforms to keep the people we do have interested. Alot of previously observor nations like L&S and Babyl in the RP has started to make posts and contribute to the regional lore. And if anybody that still isn't participating I would still like to encourage you to participate in the Alien RP. It is a regional thing, you dont need to ask just jump in!
