So I was encountered by many telegrams to join many different regions and one of them was based off of Rome and said you could conqueror other regions. How does that actually work?

There is an aspect of NS where people can invade other regions. Naturally, people have grouped together to fight against this to defend regions who are being wrongfully invaded. The process involved electing the World Assembly (WA) delegate.

When you join the WA, you can endorse other WA nations. Twice a day, NS counts up everybody's endorsements, and whoever has the most becomes the regional delegate. In the RIA we elect our delegate every 3 months. Some regions don't have a system like that, and many regions don't have a Founder nation anymore.

When a region doesn't have a founder, the delegate is by default the executive authority in a region. They can suppress posts, change the World Factbook Entry (WFE), kick nations out of a region, and even lock things down with a password.

Raiders and invaders organize to move into regions to take them by force. In the RIA we don't think that's right, so we're what is referred to as Defenders - if we notice an invasion, we move to the region and try to endorse a native there. If there's no native, we endorse our own lead with the goal of removing the threat once our guy is the delegate. Sometimes we move in to a region that is under raider occupation to liberate it, and we help the natives learn how to better secure themselves in the future.

It's a very interesting process that adds a lot to the game. If you're thinking of helping us, we're always looking for people to join us in fighting the good fight!

Question from a noob: How do I endorse someone? I'm already in the WA, so that's not an issue.

The northern cresent

Go to their nation's page, and you'll see "endorse this candidate" on it.

Just go to their nation page and click "endorse"

Thanks a lot!

Okay, I'm not sure where the endorse button IS now. I can't find it for some reason.

Right above the "Send Telegram" button

The person you're endorsing has to be in the same region and in the WA, then it's at the bottom of the page.

Ah, THAT was my issue! I was trying to endorse people not in the WA. Thanks a lot, once again!

You must have learned how to endorse. Thanks for the vote, friend!

I did indeed. Haha, my method is endorsing anyone I know, any leader, and anyone who appears powerful. I appreciate your vote!

We have the first bill discussion of this Citizen's Congress Speaker cycle.
It addresses the current system of CC membership, and tries to fix it. Shizensky had proposed it before but it failed. I think this time, now that the system has actually been used, its flaws are apparent.
