DAILY QUESTION!
I chose the optional one
OPTIONAL:u can put something (like a book or pot or oven) or carve something (like u can carve the explorers names) in a cave that is about to be explored BUT u can time travel 20000 years back before the save is explored
(confusing ik im stoopid so don't judge)

I would put an amogus plushie in the cave so when they look at it they will look at each other and be very concerned because that means amogus is real and has been around for all time. I would also put a tangerine in there to make scientists think that tangerines have been around even longer than oranges (even though tangerines did come before oranges already).

SORRY. AN UNEXPECTED ERROR HAS OCCURED. WE HAVE DELAYED THE GAME TO 87789. WE ARE SORRY. PLEASE TURN OFF THE GAME.

Oreos just dropped the new Aquarium Gravel flavored cookies.

POV: it's 2030 and twilight is still making games for a console from 14 years ago.

Fans are hyped for the new console coming out in 2023, Starlight.

Lava knight: The movie 2: The sacred realms has just released in June.

Survival of the palms, a survival game, has been released.

let's say ur in 2020 and you could
time travel to 1054bc or something like that
what would u bring
(note u can only bring an item that u can carry/drive(exp:u can get a big dumpster truck and fill it with uh poop i guess))
OPTIONAL:u can put something (like a book or pot or oven) or carve something (like u can carve the explorers names) in a cave that is about to be explored BUT u can time travel 20000 years back before the save is explored

I would leave a copy of Lord of the Rings but retitle it "Recent History" in a cave to mess with archaeologists.

An’eth’ara, na lethall’en!

This is the official post for our regional map, from now until whatever unforeseeable end eventually becomes us. For as long as we inhabit our current corporeal forms, we can look upon the following set of images as proof that not only were we here in this time and place together, but that we did it while residing in large quantities. Refuge Isle has prepared for us three images of the map, which will automatically change when there are updates. These images show not only the state locations and names, but also culture groups and regional alliances or treaty groups!

Want to join this cool map club? If you're a Member State in Refugia (sign up for the world assembly, and also be in the region for at least a week), all you have to do is telegram the application form to Sylh Alanor. While map updates will happen monthly, they may happen more frequently if time allows for it. The most recent update is listed at the top of this dispatch and will be changed every time something is changed. Furthermore, updates will be posted in the RMB when they occur. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me over the RMB, telegram, or Discord. I will respond as soon as I am able.

As of January 17, 2024, we have a new Culture policy for the map. As cultures are shared, learned behaviours, we are requiring at least two nations be a part of any new culture before it will be added to the map.

  • Nations may only apply for a placement on the map if they are a Member State.

  • Describe nation size as clearly as possible, including borders and map landmarks.

  • As cultures are shared, learned behaviours, we are requiring at least two nations be a part of any new culture before it will be added to the map.

  • Nation size will be considered relative to its time residing in the region, with some considerations made for nations with large populations. New nations will be expected to start small.

  • Nations that Cease to Exist will be removed from the map.

  • Nations may expand over time with growth.

  • Capital can be included even if your nation population hasn't unlocked that option yet.

  • Applications can only request existing landmasses. We will not raise new islands from the sea.

  • Colour can be listed as a description or hex code.

Hoi Refugia! A bit late on this like always, but we've got a new thing in the General Assembly at vote! The resolution is titled "Peace And Sustainable Development" and you can vote on it here. You can find the debate thread here.

Peace and Sustainable Development seeks to discourage "unnecessary armed conflicts" through a variety of aid supplements in key areas like education. It regulates the process of distribution of humanitarian aid to recipient nations and encourages a comprehensive education on sustainable development and sapient rights. Furthermore, it institutes the World Assembly Peace Prize, a Nobel Prize-esque award that recognizes a person or a group which contributed to the prevention of conflict resolution and prevention, and outlines its requisite procedure.

...nope, absolutely not. I categorically oppose any resolution that seeks to create a Nobel Prize-esque award in the WA and think that there far more better things to legislate things on than a useless prize that achieves no practical purpose apart from providing a new avenue for political self-pats. I get the intent of this, but there are far better ways to promote peace and stability than awarding a prize to supposedly deserving people with no fixed objective criteria to judge just how deserving they are. Also, most of the clauses written here either ineffective in nature or isn't strong enough to do something real about the concerns it raises and I really don't like the implications the definition of "unnecessary armed conflict" brings to the table.

What do y'all think?

Hello friends!

Forest's seventh annual Photo Contest is beginning, and as has been the case in past years, submissions are open to anyone from our embassy regions. We'd love to see some submissions from y'all! :)

Forest Photo Contest 2021

The seventh iteration of something is about the point at which one starts really feeling like it's been around for a long time. That's especially true of an event in NationStates, a game where few communities last that long, let alone the traditions they start. When then-Culture Minister Frieden-und Freudenland introduced the first Forest Photo Contest in 2015, they wrote of their hope that it "will one day be referred to as an annual tradition." Well, here we are, with not just any annual tradition, but perhaps the most widely-known event in Forest's calendar. So let's keep that tradition running: it's time for the seventh annual Photo Contest!

Here's what you need to know:

🌲 We have four categories once again this year:

  • LinkTrees (this category is permanent each year)

  • LinkMicro (close-ups, tiny subjects, and other photos that show things bigger than life-size)

  • LinkMacro (grand landscapes, wide views, and other large subjects - macro in the sense of "big", not "close up", since that's Micro!)

  • LinkWater (photos that display water in any of its forms)

🌲 You may submit up to 12 photos total. You may choose how to divide those among the different categories, but please do not submit more than 12.

🌲 Please post your photos in the appropriate thread on our forums, located Linkhere. You may also submit photos via a link to an image hosting site in a telegram to Mount Seymour.

🌲 The photos must be taken by you, but can be taken at any time (not just during the contest).

🌲 Anyone in Forest or in a region which has an embassy with Forest may submit photographs for the contest.

🌲 Timing:

  • Submissions will be open from December 6 at 20:00 GMT (3:00pm Dec 6 EST) to December 23rd at 23:59 GMT.

  • Voting will begin on December 24th at 23:59 GMT and end December 31st at 23:59 GMT, so that we will select the winners in the first minutes of 2022!

🌲 Voting will take place on a Google Form. Needless to say, please no puppeteering!

🌲 The photographers with the top three photographs in each category will have their photos acknowledged on our RMB, on our World Factbook Entry, and potentially in our next foreign update. A banner will also be created with a collage of the top photos to applaud the winners, and participants in the competition will be encouraged to add it as their nation's custom banner. Forest's flag will also be changed to the 1st place photos in each category for a week after the Contest.

Now it's time to head out and start photographing! Good luck to everyone!

Any questions about the Contest should be directed to Mount Seymour.
