You need to unlock the option to have a national leader, which is possible after answering an issue which you recieve once you've reached 250 million inhabitants. Then there will be a checkbox under your quote asking you if you want to quote to your leader.

Haibarians are so happy for being included in Refugia's map that all towns are throwing big parties today. Great day for the country's history, thank you everyone.

I am pleased to report that I have pushed the latest update to the map files.

Welcome to the latest additions of Allokyus, Imperve, Haibaria, as well as the return of the venerable Floofybit. Please let me know if anything appears not the way it should be with your nations.

An’eth’ara, na lethall’en!

This is the official post for our regional map, from now until whatever unforeseeable end eventually becomes us. For as long as we inhabit our current corporeal forms, we can look upon the following set of images as proof that not only were we here in this time and place together, but that we did it while residing in large quantities. Refuge Isle has prepared for us three images of the map, which will automatically change when there are updates. These images show not only the state locations and names, but also culture groups and regional alliances or treaty groups!

Want to join this cool map club? If you're a Member State in Refugia (sign up for the world assembly, and also be in the region for at least a week), all you have to do is telegram the application form to Sylh Alanor. While map updates will happen monthly, they may happen more frequently if time allows for it. The most recent update is listed at the top of this dispatch and will be changed every time something is changed. Furthermore, updates will be posted in the RMB when they occur. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me over the RMB, telegram, or Discord. I will respond as soon as I am able.

As of January 17, 2024, we have a new Culture policy for the map. As cultures are shared, learned behaviours, we are requiring at least two nations be a part of any new culture before it will be added to the map.

  • Nations may only apply for a placement on the map if they are a Member State.

  • Describe nation size as clearly as possible, including borders and map landmarks.

  • As cultures are shared, learned behaviours, we are requiring at least two nations be a part of any new culture before it will be added to the map.

  • Nation size will be considered relative to its time residing in the region, with some considerations made for nations with large populations. New nations will be expected to start small.

  • Nations that Cease to Exist will be removed from the map.

  • Nations may expand over time with growth.

  • Capital can be included even if your nation population hasn't unlocked that option yet.

  • Applications can only request existing landmasses. We will not raise new islands from the sea.

  • Colour can be listed as a description or hex code.

If y'all click on the map factbook you'll find out the answers to your questions and figure out the proper process to get on it.

On the map application form, it lists several wanted attributes for the map; however, the "Culture Group" section is not very clear. What should I do to fill out this part?

Also, what counts as a "Member State"?

A member state is a nation that has been a World Assembly member in Refugia for at least 7 days.

The Land Named Bob wrote:On the map application form, it lists several wanted attributes for the map; however, the "Culture Group" section is not very clear. What should I do to fill out this part?

A culture group is whatever the culture of your nation is. Irish, Greek, small furry cat people, etc.

My culture group is Refugi. You can see what other people have in the middle map of the dispatch.

Hi y'all, sorry for being late on this, but it seems like the General Assembly has sprung back to life, with this thing coming up next. The debate thread can be found here.

"Repeal GAR#357" do exactly what it's advertised as, which is to repeal the target resolution, which seeked to encourage a switch to clean energy sources (like solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy, geothermal energy et al.) and decrease reliance on fossil fuels (like coal, natural gas and oil) to an absolute minimum, on the grounds of being insufficiently detailed regarding the steps to take to facilitate this transition and failing to solidify international cooperation among member nations regarding its execution. It's a competing proposal against Imperium Anglorum's proposal, which recently failed to make quorum. The author intends to replace the repealed resolution with a better, updated version found here.

Overall, I'm in support of this. The arguments which the repeal makes is convincing, if a bit less substantial than I would like, and I consider the matter of clean energy sources to be of such importance that any and every loophole in the enforced legislation would end up being costly for the health of our multiverse. This repeal seeks to pave the way for a better resolution to take its place, so that the members of the World Assembly can continue its eventful existence and not have it end by an inevitable natural super extinction our real-life world is heading towards.

However, I won't pretend there aren't some problems here. The grounds for repeal, as pointed out by myself above, may seem insufficient to some (YMMV) and I'm not convinced that the replacement draft is quite ready yet, as there are some blatant loopholes that still needs to be addressed. Furthermore, there's an argument which claims that the issues of GAR#357 raised by the repeal have already been solved by GAR#445 "Greenhouse Gas Cap And Trade Program", which makes it look like the author's aiming to fix what are essentially non-problems. I don't believe this to be an adequate reason to lean against this proposal. If GAR#445 did indeed fix the problems GAR#357 had, then it makes GAR#357 useless in nature, thus making it more sensible to repeal and replace it with an updated resolution that compliments GAR#445 too. No need to keep an useless GAR, which only serves to encourage the authorship of future resolutions to cover its shortcomings, on the books then.

What do y'all think about this?

SUPERB CIVIL RIGHTS! Yes FINALLY, I have been waiting for 2 weeks! :D

Dacay wrote:What do y'all think about this?

Having just read 357, I see a lot of urging, imploring, encouraging, and only a single extremely vague "requiring" which doesn't isn't even seem enforceable. I don't see anything of substance here being lost.
