Welcome to the region, which amazingly has seen many new faces as of late. It's good to see some life pumped back into this region again (although the upcoming 8th generation may have something to do with it, and at any rate, the 8th gen can't come soon enough IMO, the 7th gen being such a dud for me, and this is coming from someone that didn't really care for the 5th gen either, but at least that had B2/W2 to make up for what was ultimately a waste of time with Black/White).

Dresca, so I finally gave in and bought a Switch. Gen 8 looks so good, especially compared to what I feel was a complete waste of a generation with gen 7, that I had to give in for it. I'm really looking forward to playing Sword/Shield later in the year, although I'm not really sure I'll play one of the Let's Go games (having never played Pokemon Go). Also, I really like this group of starters, especially Scorbunny, even though it's probably going to be yet another Fire/Fighting type, but it would be really cool if it was something unexpected like Fire/Steel or Fire/Fairy. I almost always choose the Fire starter, and I also did that for Moon, but then I abandoned Litten in lieu of Salazzle mainly because Incineroar was so ugly to me, so I couldn't stomach the idea of training one.

Aww yeah!! I'm getting Shield myself and Scorbunny too! Rabbits are my favorite animals so I'm super excited this rabbit looks like it's gonna be worth using! I liked the other bunnies too but they're not usually viable and Lopunny's overly sexualized design doesn't appeal to me.

I've got my fingers crossed on Fire/Steel or Fire/Electric. Steel makes the most sense because the bottom of his pawpads seem like matchbox top. :o But I'd love for us to go opposites, Fire/Electric, Water/Flying, Grass/Rock or something like that.

Let's Go was enjoyable but it was for a much younger demographic than me. Since the hype has calmed down, I doubt it'll have much replay-ability. Check out Pokken if you get a chance!

Is this region remotely active?

Desert flygons

More than a lot of regions, though that isn't saying much.

It's as active as you want to make it. Post something, try to start a discussion, hope that others join in. It's at least more active than it was a couple of years ago, so that's something.

About my ongoing discussion with Dresca, I actually gave in and bought Let's Go Eevee (because seriously, Eevee is way cuter than Pikachu), and it's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. Granted, the way to gain experience mainly by catching Pokemon instead of just battling them is pretty annoying, since the difference between a nice/great/excellent capture can be rather large, and even excluding that, I'm sometimes mystified over a capture getting more experience than it should have, but with so many variables going on, I guess that's not too surprising, but still frustrating. And by extension, how that means that most of the money I'll be spending will be on balls is pretty messed up, since I usually use my money for much better things. That said, I've found out how to make a lot of money early on, and it's obvious why they put in that mechanic for this reason. Still, no breeding (despite gender still being included), no abilities (despite it being coded into the game according to Bulbapedia), and no held items is pretty hard to get by, seeing as how those have been par for the course since gens 2 and 3, and have been largely the reason why the games have been such a success ever since.

So I'm still looking forward to playing Shield in the fall, but in the meantime, the Switch has a fairly large library, and I've already bought another game, Ys VIII, for it, and I still have to buy Zelda BoTW of course.

I haven't played too many Pokemon games. X and Omega Ruby. Have been interested in Let's Go Eevee. I do have many of the other major Nintendo games for the Switch, such as Smash Ultimate, BotW, and Super Mario Odyssey.

I’m a more recent Pokefan too, Y was my first then Alpha Sapphire, then Moon and then I bought X just because I can’t wait for Sword and Shield and wanted to play my favourite again xD

Hello Pancham pancham, welcome to the region. Hope you enjoy your stay.

One thing I'll say about Let's Go is that a large reason why I enjoy it is mainly from the nostalgia factor. I've been a fan since Gen I, and this was the first new game featuring Kanto since the HG/SS remakes. That, and the fact that it only has the original 151. So although I know that it's geared more towards newer and younger fans, you may find it somewhat lacking compared to the Gen VI or VII games. The main thing I really like about it is that random encounters were removed to instead put the Pokemon right in the overworld. It makes traversing grass or caves way less annoying and makes the world feel more alive than it normally does.

Desert flygons

I've played Pokemon since gen 1, and have at least one game from every generation. Hoenn's probably my favorite region.

Haven't been here in a while. It's amazing to see that there are still 9 other nations here, although I only recognize a few of them. Anyway, still looking forward to playing Shield in a few months.

Hello my fellow Pokemon!

My nation has just approved public nudity.

Nice!

i had an issue where some people were complaining about child beauty pageants, so i chose having child fight clubs instead!

So our founder seems to not exist anymore, what can we do?

Balnkit
