Ho Ho Ho!

Merry Christmas everyone! First, let me excuse myself for not speaking Filipino, I'm not well versed in the language and my translator is on the fritz. Luckily that doesn't stop me from handing out presents to all the good boys and girls of your region! Sorry I can not stay and chat but I'm a bit behind schedule and I can't just stop time to give me more of it, well, sometimes I can't.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

P.S: I do hope that that super typhoon heading your way does not ruin your Christmas!

Had three bottles of beer, and slept before I could finish my fourth.
Now I've woken up, and I see that half-finished San Mig Flavored Beer at my bedside... Should I finish it lmao
Anyway merry christmas bruvs

Well, there was the anniversary of the CCP. But it's understandable that it's not an official holiday. Lol. :)

On the same note, no one celebrates the founding of the Katipunan, another revolutionary institute.

Of course! It was a day of infamy. Most Manila media and so called human rights groups have so long overlooked their attrocities against the peolple in the countrysides. I came fom a place where it suffered so much from their Kangaroo court and purges. I just hope they come back to our place... and this time we will not be passive... We will eat them alive. We have learned our lessons.
I agree that the country must move on but any agreement with these political dinasours must be subject to plebiscite like what has been done in Colombia.

Tama, dapat may historical celebration rin para dun. Or irecognize man lang na importante rin ang July 7.

The regrettable purges should not have happened had it not for military assets planted among the ranks of the NPA reaching up to its leadership organizations. There was also the wrong political line being followed which promoted an institutional weakness which allowed for the infiltration.

A lot can be said which will not bring back precious lives lost. But something was, and is being done to rectify these mistakes. Not only lessons were learned, trust also needed to be regained. It is an ongoing process and old wounds cannot be expected to heal over quickly.

A successful peace agreement between the GRP and the NDFP will change both: the NDFP will lay down its arms only if the GRP has implemented the socioeconomic reforms that will be agreed upon under CASER.

Sigh.

Two probable reasons:

1.) Rizal is placed in a pedestal that he has become unrelatable to Filipinos, especially students. We teach his life and his supposed heroism, we sometimes forget that he is human. He is a face on our coins, a big avenue, a brand of matchsticks, but in the imagination of people he is as human a cold block of marble standing on the plaza grounds.

2.) Rizal is bourgeois and his reformist advocacies reflect his social class. He does not want to replace the status quo during his time, he wants to fix it; convenient because his social class partially benefits from the status quo. The revolutionaries, gaining nothing from the status quo, wants to abolish it and replace it with something that favors the lower classes. Rizal did not agree to this, seeing the revolutionary movement as counterproductive to his advocacies.

His love for his country is undeniable, but he is betrayed by his social class through his reformist tendencies. Reform, however, is useless when the enemy is entrenched politically and economically. His death because a rallying cry for revolutionaries, but it rang empty because he on the first place was never in their favor.

Lipservice celebrations that mean nothing. The status quo wants it to remain the same. Who.wants change when you are benefiting from the current set up?
