Welcome, Wooos and Dfhssh.
After reading through all applications for the position of Minister of External Affairs, I am pleased to announce that Frogalicious has been appointed this post to become its inaugural holder. As well as this, Garahe ko will be working in External Affairs alongside the Minister, myself and the Legislative Body. Telegrams will be sent out in due time regarding roles and responsibilities. Thank you all for applying and congratulations to Frogalicious and Garahe ko.
Of our 5 MRPs, 3 Socialist Party MRPs vote Biscuit and, 1 Socialist MRP and the 1 Liberal Party MRP vote Cake for the JeffCakes Bill.
Democracy has deemed so
In a hearing from the Supreme Court of Khushvad today, where The McGites Company vs. Pengia Terrum has been taking place, it has been ruled that McGites' JeffCakes are a biscuit. McGites went on to lose the case for having failed to comply with laws within the region. Despite public demand, McGites did not classify whether JeffCakes are a biscuit or cake which lead to the debate being settled within the Regional Parliament where MRPs overwhelmingly voted 'biscuit' in accordance with the popular opinion in their constituencies. McGites found this unnecessary and was hence dealt with an iron hand in the realm of the law. The judge concluded the case saying: 'It is only fair to say that businesses within Pengia Terrum should respect the laws of the region and every country where they operate'.
Sagar Chandra, Khushvad National News
The Kingdom of Skhaggerstan will ban all imports of McGites' Jeffcakes and ban any businesses they may have in our nation. This will be done to keep our people safe, after hearing that Mr. McGites is untrustworthy and may pose a threat by not following safety regulations.
TNC's are pretty much already banned, by this I mean the tariffs for foreign goods (except for things we don't have) are extremely high, it's just this time that we are completely banning this specific TNC. TNC's are a cancer to my nation but sometimes they are necessary for things we do not have.
Also due to this, we will be implementing more checks on TNC's if they ever wish to sell anything (that we already have) to us.
I am flattered by that statement but id be cooler if my economy wasn't crumbling
A country with a tax rate of 70% is very hot!!! as far away from cool as possible, those poor people are boiling :(
However it is time to review and come back to the issue at hand since all the previous problems have been resolved
Yes, it probably is time to review the Joint-Defence Bill. Also thank you, Metaphysicus, but we don't need to pin my dispatch on Foreign Relations to Pengia Terrum lol. Also the first session of the Regional Parliament and my term as Council President has now come to an end which means that all of us as member nations are to vote for the next Council President, then the new Regional Parliament needs to be appointed. I should expect myself to write something on Discord.
I'm glad that we can begin to review the Joint-Defence Bill to ensure the safety of all nations within Pengia Terrum.
However, it saddens all the New Hyperboreans of Skhaggerstan to see an end to The Republic of Khushvad's term as Council President, I hope to one day see Khushvad return as Council Leader as he did an excellent job!
Aldrest has entered a period of Civil War an unrest after a group of Chiefs began fighting over the right of ruling over more than one island, with the remaining Chief's jumping in to avoid upsetting the delicate balance within the council. As such, until the situation has been resolved, Aldrest will cease all foreign contacts in an effort to stop this conflict as soon as possible. Trade will still be open but it will be limited to directly neighbouring nations and nations within the Pengia Terrum. Aldrest will also abstain from any diplomatic elections occurring within the PTCoC until the conflict ends. The Island of Dada, where the PTCoC parliament building is located has not been affected and is currently one of the few islands without any imminent conflict and as such, meeting may remain to occur, although the entire island will be on high alert and the country itself is on lock-down, so tourism is also stopped until the conflict is resolved. We understand that this may have caused certain inconveniences and Aldrest apologises for these and we will work to repay any damages caused by the conflict. We will keep you all updated as the situation develops.
- Karla Valerie Harrell, Regional Ambassador of Aldrest
