The market dropped several points today after news that the Austech Union was planning a strike Thursday night at midnight, if no deal was met with union members and company management. Asutech is one of the nations biggest information technology companies and has struggled with union negotiations for years now, but new management has said, "enough is enough." The union is asking for a 20% increase in pay over three years after more than six years of no wage increases. The company has blamed the economy and international trade laws for the budget cuts company wide. This strike would be the second biggest strike to hit the nation after the teacher strike during the Walker administration. However, more concerning, is the impact a strike could have on an already struggling economy. The President has stepped in, hosting negotiations at the Palace tomorrow in an attempt to end the stalemate.

John Williams the head of the independent investigation into the President's affair with a Palace staffer has come to an end. Williams announced that the investigation turned up no evidence of law breaking on behalf of the President or his staff. In his statement, Williams said, "We have found no evidence of the President breaking any laws or violations of his oath of office. We have also found zero evidence of collusion with any foreign government to win an election." The Presidential Palace echoed William's statement and urged the nation and press to move on from the story. The Justice Council will release the entire document to both Houses and the public in the coming weeks.

Cedar Mayor Josephine Marcus announced her candidacy for president, making this the third person to join the race and the second to look for the UFP nomination. Marcus is new to government, but has been a force on the trail and in office, being the first UFP member to win in the mostly conservative Cedar city in over twenty years. Marcus's campaign is looking to bring respect to the Palace, especially for woman. Marcus's famous line of, "Cleaning off the stink in the Presidential Office" has catched onto many who are looking for a fresh start in politics.

The blazing sun reflected on the gleaming sand, a shining orange sea. Where the sands met the salty blue coast there lie a mountain of concrete and glass. The heat made the towers little more than a hazy grey in the distance. In the center of the bustling city was the historical palace of the royal Al Sathumi family. Two blocks away, a large modern tower stood above the rest in Rahtiba. Glistening steel above the crowded sandy roads below. This was the home of the Al Sathumis, the center of power in Rahtiba.

King Abdul was a dying man. He founded Buqayah when he was 21, and over sixty years later he remained the primary seat of all power. He sat in the throne. He sat at one end of the long dark hall lined with golden torches and royal servants, by the engraved golden doors at the other end, two of King Abdul's sons. Faatin bin-Abdul al Sathumi and the younger Jabir bin Abdul al Sathumi. Faatin had been the favorite, he was next in line for the throne, he would lead Buqayah if things progressed as they should. Jabir was the second prince. Smarter, more well versed with the world, he knew the way the state was turning. King Abdul Brings Bugayah to the International Stage

The most gracious King Abdul gave a speech from Al Sathumi palace, announcing that the royal family would be hosting an International Gala for the elite of other nations to meet and discuss the relationship with the Al Sathumi family and Bugayah. This announcement came to resounding applause from thousands of eager onlookers. This is the first outreach since King Abdul liberated the people of Buqayah with international help in 1938, and later the development of Buqayah's industries. Experts agree that this gala will improve Buqayah's economic growth, which has stagnated since some partners of Buqayah turned away from our fledgling country. Once again, King Abdul has shown his evergrowing mercy and love for the people of Buqayah and continues to protect our nation.

The National Weather Council has issued a hurricane warning for all of Perth, as what was a tropical storm has transformed into a category 2 hurricane. The storm is currently producing winds of about 80 mph, with very heavy rainfall. Experts believe that the storm could likely strengthen into a category 3, maybe even a category 4, before reaching land. A main concern for residents is just how slow this storm is moving, just under 20 mph, mixed with the heavy rainfall, can mean extreme flooding. Voluntarily evacuations are in place, and multiple schools have been transformed into emergency shelters. Perth Power and Light warned that power could be out "for an extended period of time". Mayor Hanlin has also ordered all major canals to be drained.

The campaign field nearly doubled in size today as three more candidates entered the race. The first to announce was Leavenworth Mayor Thomas Raston, a hard core liberal candidate. Raston is the third candidate looking to win the UFP nomination along with Hoynes and Marcus. Raston has a mixed reputation with the electorate, with some in his party calling him "a man who gets things done no matter what" and others calling him corrupt. The other candidate looking for the UFP nomination is former Head of the House and Special Investigator against the President for having an affair, John Williams, who announced from his former high school. Williams is running on education and healthcare reform and, "to bring back leadership" to the Palace. Challenging the President for the Conservative primary is business executive Madalyn Sharp. Mrs. Sharp has criticized the President's handling of the economy and for endangering millions of AUS jobs through multiple new trade deals. Madalyn stated, "In this economic crisis, we don't need a politician. We need a successful business owner who knows what she is doing." Sharp is the CEO of one of the nations biggest communications company, Entity, worth nearly one hundred and fifty billion dollars.

Hong Kong

"Hong Kong... has changed so much" Mingyu said as she stared around.
Large neon signs lit the paved roads, now shaking with the busy coming and going of cars. Lights lit the buildings, which there were those which remained built in the Hua style of wood and roofs which curved gracefully upwards towards the orange sunset sky. However many were modified buildings, glass, metal, and concrete showed in the traditional styles. On the ground, crowds of people came and went. Half wore the fashion of Feng's Hua race. Flowing robes and floor length skirts with wide sleeves, and long uncut hair tied into various styles. There were others though, who wore western clothing and began to cut their hair. In the distance the Yongming Palace, the Palace of Hong Kong, loomed.

The three ladies walked, gazing at the city. “Hong Kong, the city of light” Zhengzhu murmured “The union of tradition and modernity. Anyway, we really need to get to get to the terminal. How are we going there, taxi?” Seeing an available cab, they hailed.

“To the ferry terminal please” Lianxin said, lifting her skirts as she ducked through the taxi’s door.

****

The ferry terminal was as busy as the rest of the city. “Did you hear?” A nearby girl said to her friend. “There’s a business party in TW-1. There’s a cooperation from the United Kingdom of Miotia-Candor called… Yotsubishi I think?” A short distance from them, Lianxin, Mingyu, and Zhengzhu hovered nearby, gazing at the terminal. There, they saw the ferry that headed to TW-1, and the guards checking the tickets. “Now, how on earth are we going to sneak aboard?” Mingyu asked. Lianxin was about to reply when the three all felt a tap on their shoulder. Startled, they quickly turned around.

Rahtiba, al Sathumi Palace

The delegates from nations around the world arrived in the so-called Oasis of Man as the oppressive sun rose. They were driven on roads absent of other cars. Along the roads were the crowded paths populated by thousands of Buqayahi citizens. Palm trees lined the tops of the paths, a rare showcase of green in the sands. When they arrived in the large square surrounding the sandstone palace, they were let out of their cars to take pictures with the royal family. Many would comment on the smothering heat, many more on the scorching sand that blew into their face. They were then led into the palace of the Al Sathumis.

It was night when the servants led the delegates into a dimly lit room. Deep brown wooden panels lined the walls, a golden exterior delicately carved bordered the white and green ceiling. The delegates were led to white-clothed tables where they would then be brought drinks and food. The bright lights focused on the stage, empty except for the golden carving of a sword and a torch crossed under an falcon on horse, the emblem of the Al Sathumis. Minutes passed before Crown Prince Faatin bin Abdul al Sathumi came on stage.

Prince Faatin wore a white keffiyeh and thawb, his eyes covered by black sunglasses. Applause roared from the room as he waved and walked to the mic. After an informal introduction and welcoming the delegates to Buqayah, he began his speech.

“As many of you know, the worldwide economy has begun to take a downturn. We are beginning to see the effects of this in our own country, and our gracious king, my own father, King Abdul al Sathumi has decided that we must work with our allies to combat this. Our kingdom has developed its industries under the guidance of our benevolent king. Our oils, gemstones, and textiles are now facing harder markets to internal industries in countries we held a monopoly over. We know this problem isn’t limited just to our nation. That is why I represent Buqayah and our gracious King Abdul al Sathumi in asking you, representatives of East lismore, United Kuzikstan, Bhayawala, Universalius, Feng Dynasty, AusValia, and any other nations visiting today, to join Buqayah in promoting mutual trade and economic ties. We ask only that your nations invest into Buqayahs growing industries, and allow them markets in your borders, and we will do the same. Without our cooperation, we are sure to fall. Thank you for visiting our kingdom and hearing our offer. May Allah guide you home safely.”

With that, Crown Prince Faatin walked off stage and began one on one discussions with many delegations. The gala would end hours later and the delegates sent to hotels or on flights home.

Jabir was the second prince. Smarter, more well versed with the world, he knew the way the state was turning. The Kingdom of the Sands would be in one of their hands soon and they would decide the future of the nation.

The USNE would love to attend the Gala, and would also like to have good relations with the Kingdom of Buqyah and their king. John Frost o, Head of INA, will be going with 2 guards.
