Depends on how you define right.

Also I just put out a proposal saying that the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

a right as in something a human deserves to have

did you write it out in the appropriate persuasive format?

Hopefully. Here's the link, I guess you can decide if it's persuasive or not.

maybe you should compare it to some other proposals and get an idea for what GenSec thinks is good

no lmao, the tories are about to repeal the human rights act and replace it with their 'bill of rights' which essential disallows britons the right to protest and speak out against the government

Bull fertilizer.

The biggest flaw in your argument is the phrase "human rights." Got flash for you, there's no such thing. The ONLY rights you have are those respected and enforced by the local, state and federal government where you happen to be standing at the moment. Everything else is a construct the Marxist clowns on the left keep repeating in hopes it might catch on.

Here's an example: Picture those morons being pepper sprayed, being intimately introduced to Mr. Baton, given a free lightning ride from Mr. Taser, and then being carted off to jail on physical interference charges for attempting to "unarrest" someone. All of this happening while those idiots are screaming about their "right" to stop an injustice.

Yeah, the judge thought it was pretty funny too. Six month prison terms, 500 hours of community service,

The Hazar Amisnery wrote:a right as in something a human deserves to have

Hahahahahaha... Whether or not someone deserves something does not have any bearing on "rights." (See above.) Why is it people on the Left are always making "rights" up out of thin air? It is getting to be quite comical.

Let's try this out: I have the "right" to get laid by an attractive, OEM female whenever I feel the need. Hmmm... I kind of like this whole making up rights out of thin air thing.

However, that brand new "human right" is equally as valid as the rest of that list of "rights" the idiots on the left insist all humans enjoy.

So pep wrote:they’re about to do that over here..

Does Great Britain have a bill of rights? I didn't know that.

Us of-a wrote:You mean leftists are about to scream in Britain?

The leftists in Britain scream almost as much as our own homegrown idiots.

So pep wrote:no lmao, the tories are about to repeal the human rights act and replace it with their 'bill of rights' which essential disallows britons the right to protest and speak out against the government

Show me a link to the text of the proposal. (Is that called a "bill" over there?)

Us of-a wrote:I thought the Tories were the conservatives. (Sorry, my understanding of British politics is limited).

Don't judge yet. Keep in mind So pep has posted numerous other things as fact, that were in reality filtered through his central control collectivist socialist dogma. Wait till we see the bill before you judge.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind our First Amendment being refined so that the speech must be true and that free speech does not include forcing others to listen, intimidation, impeding others in their travels, vandalism, rioting, etc. Alas, any attempt to tweak those words at this point would almost certainly go wrong. So better it be left alone.

Just because the government doesn’t enforce it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. You have the freedom of the internet and speech but in the outside world there are other “rights” enforced by other federal governments. Your police beat up protesters because shooting citizens goes against the human “right” to protest. You do have the “right” to get laid whenever you want so it wasn’t just made out of thin air. All these “rights” were “made out of thin air” by the UN (which would’ve involved your America) 80 years ago so idk why you seem so negative to the word “rights”

Man I am having fun right now! I am having to explain to the mods why my proposal shouldn't have been discarded. They discarded my proposal because it quoted much of the 2nd Amendment verbatim. Yet this is not technically illegal. The GA proposal standards do say I can't make real world references, but I never specifically mentioned the 2nd Amendment (though I did quote it). Additionally, the rules on copying/duplicating/plagiarism only say that I cannot copy/duplicate/plagiarize another player's proposal/resolution. It says nothing about quoting real world documents.

Not at all. Just trying to keep you honest and improve your education.

Cool. Thank you sir.

I read through most of that. Perhaps it is that I am unfamiliar with English law, but nothing is really jumping out at me as a problem.

Help me out here. Which part is going to limit or take away from what you are free to do right now?

The Hazar Amisnery wrote:Just because the government doesn’t enforce it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

That is the precise definition of "rights" as used in this context. You may claim a human right to shelter. But unless the law enforcement and courts in the location you claim that right are going to go along with it, squatting in someone else's house is going to get your Progressive butt thrown in jail.

The Hazar Amisnery wrote:You have the freedom of the internet and speech

I do here because the US government follows enforces that right guaranteed under the US Constitution. (So far) But go to China and post something unkind about the Chinese government and see how long it takes for you and your "human rights" to disappear.

The Hazar Amisnery wrote:Your police beat up protesters because shooting citizens goes against the human “right” to protest.

Not hardly. Our police beat up rioters resisting arrest while illegally protesting the death of someone, who in most cases needed shooting. Try to keep up here.

But you are making my point for me. Those protesters have the absolute right to free speech. However they artificially extended that freedom with the fiction that right extends to blocking traffic, vandalism, busting windows, looting, arson, assault, etc. Exercising those made up "rights" gets them arrested if the police bother to step in.

The Hazar Amisnery wrote:You do have the “right” to get laid whenever you want so it wasn’t just made out of thin air. All these “rights” were “made out of thin air” by the UN (which would’ve involved your America) 80 years ago so idk why you seem so negative to the word “rights”

I believe you are being intentionally thick. The example I gave meant the government was to provide me with the woman under my newly invented right.

The UN has no jurisdiction in the United States. Once again, and I cannot overemphasize this point, the ONLY rights you have are those the local authorities are willing to uphold for you.

You may have the "human right" to walk through the dirt streets of a middle eastern Islamic city screaming bad things about Muhammad, but unless the locals are willing to step up (they won't be), you're going to get a righteous beating. You may not even survive.

Try again?

I'm not an admin in this region. However, if I were I would slap you upside the head with the ban hammer for recruiting or otherwise promoting another region.

Bad nation. Baaaaad nation. No biscuit.

Wow, that is really cool. Other than that wasted space and effort on greenhouse gas, I wish the US legislatures would do this. Way to go Britania!

While reading this, I came across the following words: "This could see more claimants taking cases to Strasbourg." Is that Strasbourg as in the one in France? If so, how is it the French have any say on English law?

And I have to go do work things.

I'll finish reading it later. However, as near as I can tell, the English government is trying to regain sovereign control over domestic human rights litigation. Looks like they are wanting to kick some folks out of the country too. (We have that problem as well.)

I don't don't blame them. I'm not sure why any nation would submit themselves to the judgement of a bunch of foreign socialists whose very job depends on finding human rights violations.

I'll keep reading later and get back with you.
