I think this goes over my beliefs pretty well

Othelos wrote:The military is much larger and more organized than individuals or private militias. Not to mention that these people would have the most to lose from a rebellion. I don't think this line of thinking is accurate.

If we end up in national rebellion, I think we have some much greater issues. That being said, it must be noted how effective guerilla groups are against more established military forces.

EstRADia wrote:All that being said, owning a firearm is a massive responsibility and requires great care. Possessing something with the capability for committing great violence. Because of that, I believe you are responsible for the proper handing of that firearm and ensuring that only those with access to it are equally responsible and knowledgeable on how to use/respect it. If you consiously make a decision that puts others at risk, then you should be on the hook for the consequences. Besides that, you shouldn't be on the hook if your firearm is stolen or otherwise is used unlawfully without your knowledge. I also think that requiring all weapons to be under lock and key within a household is an overstep, as it can be a grave obstacle when it comes to you protecting yourself, your family, and your dwelling.

It's a very deep and complex issue, and I think how it's been gone about doesn't lend respect to it's complex nature.

Yet 4 rules.

Hmm?

The 4 rules are:
1. Always treat a firearm as if it was loaded. Even if you just cleared it. Once it goes out of sight, act like it's loaded and will fire if the trigger is pulled.

2. Never let the muzzle cross over anything you aren't willing to shoot. No matter who/what it is. If you don't want to shoot it, don't point the gun at it. Always be aware where your gun is pointing at all times.

3. Don't let your finger touch the trigger until you are ready and willing to fire the firearm. If you don't want to shoot, keep your finger away from the trigger.

4. Be aware of what's behind and around your target. Don't fire at anything if you're unsure about where your bullet will end up after you fire

I'm just happy that there is no firearm debate in Romania. Or an important firearm debate in Europe.

Hell, even Switzerland will be using EU regulations now

At least in TN you're also fiscally responsible for any damaged from a bullet that leaves your gun.

Interesting. Could you explain more?

If you're bullet for example shatters a window after you shoot through it, you are liable to pay for that windo you broke.

Is that nondescriminating based on the scenario? Like, you pay whether its because of negligence or self-defense, etc? Either way, that's kinda neat.

Guess that's up to yall. Kinda odd though that Romania would be the one who's tough on guns.
