There are things I have to learn and want to learn.
In school I feel like I have to get good grades to be allowed to keep going. So since I’m focusing on grades, I don’t feel like I’m learning or remembering anything at all. Especially when I also have to work, so I feel like I lack time.

Mammo wrote:To top it off I have 0 social skills, can’t meet new people unless they start first so there’s a foundation I can build off of, otherwise, what do I speak to you about?

Friends tell me, “go talk to her” or “say hi to him” and I’m like okay. Then what? After I say hi then what? I don’t know what to talk to them about.

Mammo wrote:I feel lost and like I’m not learning anything in college at all. I don’t know if this 1,500$ I spent on this semester is worth.

But I do feel lost, just everyday is the same, I haven’t met anyone new since high school ended, and I don’t know what to do with myself and lack the motivation to do the things I tell myself I should do.

It's very similar for me in college oof

I can't really help you though, since in my cause there are some bigger issues at play, but I am seeing a therapist and it's been helping a little.

You should certainly try to think very well whether that college really is for you. I know that the situation in America is a bit more complicated due to the high taxes, but well, this is a question that only you can answer.

You also shouldn't completely focus on grades. They're certainly important, but you need to try to strike a balance between college, work, and doing things you enjoy.

And I don't know how to talk to people either, sadly

But try to find people you might have interests or hobbies in common, because once you do get a common talking ground, it gets a bit easier.

I also probably shouldn't give people advice seeing as I don't have any any idea what I'm doing with my life, oh well

We're all in this together. What I've found that helps is to try and accept the process. It may not be going as fast as you like, you may not yet be where you feel you should be, you may not be seeing as much improvement ad you want, but you are moving in the right direction. It is okay to feel upset about where you are, just as long as you acknowledge that whatever state you're in isn't static. Progress is progress, no matter how hard it may be to see. Focusing on even the smallest achievements goes a long way, I find. And before you know it you'll look back and see just how far you've really come. I dunno, that's just what I've been taught.

Fück it, I’ll start learning Python.

Max Berry, taking inspiration from the NBA, should cancel Nationstates due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Anyone else feel like a beloved celebrity catching a potentially deadly virus sounds worryingly close to a Plague Inc event?

Remember when I said 2020 was gonna be lit? I take that back.

Crumstain wrote:Max Berry, taking inspiration from the NBA, should cancel Nationstates due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

We got the virus talk at work today and with everything in the news it has been weirdly anxiety mashing.

We have to disinfect our cubes at the start of every shift starting tomorrow and we're roughly at the same protection measure as the military.

Michigan Tech has cancelled all face-to-face instruction until mid April due to coronavirus. This should be interesting.

Python is extremely easy to learn, you should have no trouble, especially if you are already familiar with programming/scripting.

Rhodes down here in Memphis did the same apparently. They're also trying to empty housing as much as possible.

My experience with programming stops at

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;

int main()
{
cout << "Hello, World!";
return 0;
}

Welp it's the end of an era, I have my flight booked to move outta Japan now.

If at all possible you should try to learn some programming. It’s a pretty useful thing to know in the modern world.

When we met it wasn't awkward or anything though, and keep in mind that I have Asperger's

Yeah, but the issue is that I'm the one who always feels weird. And also sadly enough, my social anxiety became a thousand times worse throughout highschool, so I'm going to have to take medication for it.

But the two times I met people from NS were both nice xD
