In the US (at least from what I can find) you guys only have up to 91 grade, which is the Malaysian equivalent of RON 95, which is the cheapest type of gas (but diesel's cheaper in Europe) you can find in Malaysia and Europe. In Malaysia at least the highest I've seen is RON 100, which is about 94 US standard. Btw for 91 grade gas I pay 1.904 dollar per gallon back home.

I saw RON and I instantly thought of Romanian lei

RON here means the grade of petrol though. Also interesting fact, Ireland actually does not sell RON 98 petrol commercially

Timberwolves wrote:So, my current car.

My first time seeing what would later become my car was in 2016, when the local "homeless" soldier - call him M - rolled up in a slightly roughed up 2007 Dodge Charger. It should've been a red flag for both him and, by virtue of association, the car - but I was new to the unit, so I figured it was all the same. Later that year, driving home from across the country for Christmas Leave, he hit a patch of black ice, sliding his car off the side of a road. The front of his driver side came to rest against a tree; the rear end swung a bit further and took out a nativity scene, killing baby Jesus. After the car came to a stop, as there were no injuries or fires to call into Emergency Services, he called his chain of command to let them know that he'd killed baby Jesus, and also that he may miss a day of work while he tries to arrange another way to get home.
Hence the nickname Kratos, God-killer, slayer of children. Alt: Pontius Pilate, although it doesn't have a ring to it.

Now, this guy M wasn't exactly a mechanic. So, after crashing his car, getting it serviced to be road legal again, he parked it for a few weeks in his driveway, mid winter. He went back out and - lo and behold - it won't start. So he makes a mental note to fix it...

...And buys a brand new, 2015 Dodge Challenger, all white.

Now, about a year later, mid 2017, the lease on my old home is up and I'm looking to move somewhere closer to base, since I had no car at the time. Of course, M offers to split rent on his place, since he's living 1 man in a 2-bedroom house. I accept the offer, and move in. I ask a couple questions about his Charger, and after a bit, he offers to give it to me. Without a reason to say no, I accept, and end up doing a bunch of minor repairs on the car just to get it running again, adding the name Kodiak to be less edgy, and slightly more feminine.

I swap the battery, dropping in a fresh one, and BOOM. She starts up like a charm. Now, because I still lived with M, there was no reason to drive my Charger much of anywhere. So she sat, mostly untouched, for a while still on his driveway, until M got posted, and I had to find a new home.

Mind you, at this point, the car still had a number of issues, which I can reference a mechanic's defect list for:
-Driver's side front window is held in by zap straps
-Passenger's side front window has no power
-Heater/Fan occasionally fails
-Front brake discs are not aligned to wheels and show excess wear
-Park brake doesn't work at all
-Extensive body damage
-Driver's Control Arm is loose
-Rear suspension is riding low
-Alternator nonfunctional

Eh, I'll finish the tale of my car at some point.

No one gives nicknames like the armed forces, do they

No, they do. I got the nickname Simba, because nobody can apparently pronounce my 2-syllable name correctly, and I'm also (as discussed) more ottermode than anything, which isn't the typical build.

He never got a nickname because his name was easy enough.

Like in my Det alone, we've got Street (because his last name is a "St.", and he's clearly not a man of God, so it must mean "street") and Black Lightning (his idea and choice, but also 100% a race thing).

We also have Roddy (whose actual Colombian last name has about 17 syllables and 3 words, along with way too many silent letters, so we just shortened the "Rodriguez" part to "Roddy"), Ronny (whose actual name literally doesn't contain "Ron" anywhere in it, but he 'looks' like a Ronny), the Twin Towers (two very tall soldiers who arrived at the same time, showed similar interests, and looked surprisingly similar), Building 7 (who showed up a few months after the Twin Towers, looks quite different but is still tall as fvck), Cheech (who perpetually looks goddamn BAKED, but apparently looks more normal when he gets high), Vanilla Morpheus (a slightly shorter, 115lb kid with glasses literally a quarter inch thick, who as you may have guessed spends 90% of his time on a computer), Tina (one guy who looks, sounds, and acts like Tina from Bob's Burgers, much to his irritation), and my favorite, one soldier who deserves a post of his own due to the sheer number of nicknames. I'll also include another fun one, but I'm 90% sure I've already told his story.

Man, typing it now - I can't give HALF of his nicknames without explaining his actual name, which I'm not about to do. Damn.

And I have a thing for it's Urban location. But a part of me is also beginning to feel like I should put some space between myself and here. Just get away, even if it's only 2 hours.

Yeah, trust me, that space is nice, because it's not too far to go home when you need to, but it's far enough to excuse not coming home if you don't feel like it. And you won't be tempted to move back in with your parents.

Omg, listen to Boombayah, it’s seriously the littest song you’ll ever hear.

I think I've kinda made up my mind for UO. I feel I need some separation from my family, as much as I love them. I need to get away from the drama. UO will give me the space to have my independence whilst also being close enough to where I can go to them if need be. Dealing with all the issues is tiring, and UO would give me space to solely focus on myself

Sounds like a good plan :)

It is good.

I sort of have a new crush, not really, but I think he’s bicurious, he actually slapped my chest. He also slapped my back, but I think that’s just a guy thing, or he just wants to touch me.

Yeah, we’ve been at 27,000 for 224 days now, I was looking back and some times it took us about 20 days to post 1,000 pages.

Perhaps the national guard is still an option if I want to serve somehow 🤔

My 2011 Kia Rio has 131,000 miles and runs about 100 miles a day on average. Still running smooth no problems at all.

Joining one of two Air National Guard units to cover my tuition so I only have to worry about flight school.
