*sigh* someone let you out of your cage.

Ah, yes, you guys again. I wonder who actually wins the 1991 conflict. Too bad someone, ahem, Libertas Omnium Maximus, spends half the time he "devotes to nationstates" just looking at memes or chatting in the region's discord. Honestly, that guy is a loser.

(I am a puppet state of Libertas Omnium Maximus, for the confused onlooker)

I'm a puppet state of LOM, too. I also think he is a loser.

I intend to release a new diss-track on myself at some point in the coming future.

Real talk regarding the Bjeorg Conflict RP/Chaos on the Western Front (Formerly All Quiet On The Western Front),

I do really want to (and have every intention to) finish it at some point. It was really going great until during the summer and I appreciate everyone who has participated in it. At the absolute maximum, I will resume the RP around late June. Ideally, I'll post an update at some time in the near future. I've learned a lot from this first phase and can't wait to see precisely how it all wraps up.

Thanks for hanging in there everyone!

Congratulations to Lauchenoiria on winning the ‘Amicus Unio’ award for 2019. I didn’t vote, because the citations for both nominees seemed to be based heavily on the RP side of regional activity and — for one reason & another — I haven’t had much to do with that.

Talking of RP, my Bears’ football team unfortunately has not qualified for the forthcoming World Cup… but it wasn’t until the 16th of our 20 qualifying games that we were totally eliminated from the possible contenders, which was further than any others of the 22 other ‘Unranked’ sides involved — out of 165 entrants in total — managed. (For the information of any of you who don’t already know, success in these matches and certain other tournaments earns teams points that feed back into the ‘scorinator’ programmes used and thus improve their chances of future success, and all teams that have any points are ranked accordingly. The Bears’s team had actually climbed all of the way up-table to reach #2 in the world[s] at one stage in the distant past, but had already dropped quite some way back down again before I took a couple of RL years out from that side of the game and that break was then long enough for depreciation to remove all of their remaining points & rank.) We’ve done better than some of the ‘ranked’ teams, too…
^_^

What do people think the stadium in Democracity should be called, presuming that there is one? The obvious idea is something along the lines of ‘Union Park’ or ‘Union Field’, I suppose… Anybody?

A slightly belated “Happy New Year!” to those of you who celebrate it, IC or OOC, at the beginning of January. (The Bears’ IC ‘New Year’ falls on a date equivalent to somewhere around the end of March or beginning of April, depending on how the two calendars’ ‘Leap Year’ cycles interact, instead…)

"Union Park" could work. How about "Agora Field"?

Hi all, apologies for my recent absence, I have had some personal issues to handle, and some RL political stuff to deal with.

However, following the recent delegate election, it is time for a few slight changes to the delegate's council. New council will be as follows:

Vice-Delegate: Xiomera
Foreign Minister: Laeral
Co-Culture Minister: Libertas Omnium Maximus
Cartographer: Zamastan
Co-Culture Minister/Associate Cartographer: Gardavasque
Regional Ecologist/Hospitality Minister: Bears Armed
WA Minister/WALL Ambassador: Sanctaria

Done.
(B-A.)

Congratulations to Lauchenoiria on their re-election, and “Thank You” to Xiomera both for standing for office and for accepting the ‘Vice-Delegate’ position.
(OOPS! I was so busy with other stuff, in both NS & RL, that I somehow forgot to vote: I think that that’s the first time this has happened…)

“Hrarroom!” (= “Greetings”), and a hearty "Welcome to the IDU", for both Aranoff and Luxinpenn.

Yes, that could work as well.
(I originally suspected that “Agora” came from a word meaning ‘Field’, as in the roots of the modern English term ‘Agriculture’, so that “Agora Field” would translate as something along the lines of “Little-field Field”, but apparently that isn’t the case… although, of course, the resemblance in spelling still might lead some other people to think so… ^_^ )

In any case, the match has been played (Well, its score has been determined OOC…) and it was a 1-1 draw. I haven’t written a RP about this, yet, but think that it was a case of the ‘New Lusitanian’ players showing slightly greater technical proficiency [on average] but the Bears’ superior energy compensating for this…

Hello, IDU.

I will be absent for a few days due to recent developments surrounding a friend of mine who passed away. I will be traveling abroad to attend a funeral. If you need anything from me, feel free to DM me or ping me on Discord, or send me a telegram (the latter of which will probably take longer to respond to). I'll probably be in the need of a pick-me-up during my travels, and one of the best ways for that is to put more work into the map! If you haven't gotten a spot on the map yet and would like one, you can fill out an application here: https://theidu.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2089

Thank you, everyone.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, Zamastan. May you know peace and comfort in difficult days.

Back to Capitalist Paradise. Wow, that was easy to get out of and hard to get back into...

The World Census categories can be quite difficult to maintain, if that's what you're after.

Since you're still a rather young nation, I'll link a handy graph that you may not have come across which helps visualize them and how to move between them:

And here's an updated version from one of our friends in Forest, which better represents the present state of NationStates:

Thanks. Also, I bounced right back out of that category on the very next issue. Oh well.

Greetings peoples of the IDU. Is this a peaceful place?
We are a peaceful people looking for somewhere to cultivate tranquility.

Our delegate has been so kind as to remind me of winning last years film festival (what a year for the PUG). Tradition states that the winner hosts next years event. I will therefore briefly suspend my hibernation and make this happen sometime in the not so distant future. I hope all are doing well.

The Allied State graciously accept this gift, and look forward to helping to provide more prosperity for this region.

On my 'To Do for IDU' list: update the region's "Welcome" TG to account for the change of Vice-Delegate; finish drafting, and post, introductions to separate Ecosystem discussion threads for each of the region's continents; discuss possible changes for some nations' previously-discussed ecosystems in the light of the new map's size & coordinates.

Yes, this place is peaceful... unless you and somebody else actually agree to fight a war against each other. ;)
