Hello! I’m reading the Wiki of our region and I found it very interesting!
Wouldn’t it be fine if we add more nations to that list?

Nominations are now open to run for the Delegacy of the region for the next six-month term! To run, you must be an IDUSA member. Candidate nominations are here: https://theidu.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1976

Hey everybody I'm still working on the issue that I was creating, so if you have some feedback on it it can be found in the IDU forum in the Issues Whiteboard section or the NS forum here - viewtopic.php?f=13&t=464285

Feel free to sign up and put some information in regarding your nation, it would be nice to expand the lore of the IDU a bit! Sanctaria created and runs the wiki. There are many nations including Laeral, Lauchenoiria, Sanctaria, Libertas Omnium Maximus, and myself who have expanded several articles on the wiki that diversify the site! I like to click the "Random Page" button on the side just to see what turns up!

Hey Laeral, you never told us that Tanvi Misra has a part-time job as a writer: https://www.citylab.com/authors/tanvi-misra/

Wow, I didn't know Tanvi Misra was a real person! I suppose she's getting restless at only having the Foreign Affairs Ministry to manage now. Did you come across her by accident, or were you specifically looking her up?

I just randomly noticed her name while reading articles on the site and thought it was funny.

For me, googling 'Tanvi Misra' comes up with a variety of results. Sadly, Laeral's Tanvi Misra is only the 47th result.

Assuming the heatwave doesn’t make me sick and unable to do it, the results of the second and final round of the Lauchenoirian presidential election will be on Sunday. The results of our parliamentary elections have already been up for a couple weeks if anyone is interested:

Edit: Xiomera, I read your articles on the forum, good to see someone else getting involved in RP!

Alrighty... here is the deal... the Olympics are running way behind schedule. We are having a bit of an issue with the sports list. With the best interest of the Olympics in mind here is my ultimatum: Unless any new changes are decided upon by next Monday, I am taking our previously approved list and opening submissions right then and there.

I don’t want to rush things at the expense of the Olympics but I do know that the Late July-Early August time slot is when the most people seem to be active so I would like to make the Olympics fall in that time period.

Right now (for those of you following at home) we have tons of great sports already approved such as archery, gymnastics, and tons of others. At this point I can state for certain that these Olympics will be great!

Sounds like classic IOC mishandling.

We should probably create an impenetrable bureaucratic committee to open a lengthy and overly-intrusive investigation into the various causes and possible solutions. The results of their open-ended investigation -- which should only take two or three years -- should be compiled into a weighty tome of a report and presented before a legislative body which will deliberate and debate for months on end, eventually kicking the can down the road for another couple of years until consensus can be found that something absolutely must be done. At which point, the hearings can begin.

We should have this all wrapped up in no time at all...

Thanks! I have a few ideas for potential RP (both current and historical) that I plan to launch when I have some free time. Jumping in with the news articles was a quick way to begin though 😁

News articles are a great way to begin for any new player and are equally great for seasoned veterans. They are easy to make and provide insights into the life of indeviduals of your nation while not being as labor or time intensive as a full scale RP. I would encourage any new player to post some articles on the forums, it is a great way to break into the RP aspect of The IDU.

I like the idea of an underground democratic movement. Your nation looks interesting - does it have Mesoamerican influences?

United New England wrote:I like the idea of an underground democratic movement. Your nation looks interesting - does it have Mesoamerican influences?

It does. The short explanation of Xiomera would be "What if the Aztec Empire avoided being conquered, survived long enough to go through its own version of the Meiji Restoration, and became a modern state led by a meritocracy instead of a nobility?" It's perhaps a strange concept, but I am fond of such what-if scenarios.

Nominations for the elections for Delegate are now closed; Trive 38 and Lauchenoiria will be the candidates. Voting will open on the forums for all IDUSA members on Monday. In the meantime, would either candidate like to post about their platform?

Xiomera - I love the XIN/XUN idea for your news articles. Very good!

An intriguing concept...

Elections for the role of Delegate are now underway on the IDU forums. All IDUSA members who have not CTEd are eligible to vote.

Before I vote I would like to see both candidate's platforms.

I have a text which I'll be posting shortly here.

Yes, I look forward to the platforms.

Alright everyone, not very good at speeches but here goes.
I'm not exactly one of the founding nations of the IDU, but I speak as one that had their nation settled actively here for almost all of its existence.
I've come to see this region as a great place for a new nations to safely settle in. The company of my regionmates has been great through this time here.
I'm running for the WA Delegacy because I'd like to help this region improve, more proactively.
One of the issues I consider important are the amount of apolitical RPs. This type of roleplaying is, in my view, a very important part of the region, as to not limit the region to politically-based RPs, and appeal more to the new nations that arrive with easier settings to RP.
On that, I propose the creation, alongside of our IDUOC, the creation of region-wide bodies for different sports, as to hold national team and club tournaments with our nations.
Alongside that, I would also propose we start considering seriously the possibilities of inter-regional RP's with like-minded regions. This would possibly also come along with a bit of an easing on the restrictions we have on Regional Embassies - something I'm thinking of bringing to the IDUSA's attention soon.
Speaking of the IDUSA, I believe that it's within their right to appoint our new Ministers.
That's pretty much all of what I consider of utmost importance - feel free to TG me if you'd like to know more.

Sorry for sending the text this late - I had an important test today that I totally aced... And it took some time.

Do any candidates support the creation of a regional currency to be put on the IDU Factbook and optional for national adoption?
