Welcome to the IDU!

Khomaliah wrote:Hello everybody

Welcome to the IDU! I assume that from your flag and national information that you're a Middle Eastern-inspired nation?

Bears Armed, huge favor to ask. On the forums you were doing ecological profiles for people’s nations a while ago (1 year I think). Is their anyway you could do one for Libertas Omnium Maximus and her islands when you get a free second? It would be much appreciated and would help me to lock down some ecosystem facts for future role playing details(you’ll notice I have it as being both a pseudo-Norwegian climate in some posts and a temperate climate in others).

If not that is totally cool too. We all have busy lives and I more than understand that (Final Exam prep is a nightmare). Thanks.

To the like 10 people who just joined the IDU, a hearty welcome I give you! I apologize that you aren't seeing us at 100% active. You are catching the IDU at an unusually dormant time (probably because of Finals and Exams) and I can personally assure you that stuff picks up over the summer.

If you haven’t already, join the IDU forums. They are located at https://theidu.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&p=18828#p18828

Clicking that link will take you to our Immigration desk. You should sign up (you will need to input an e-mail and probably use the name of your main nation as the username) for the forums when you get onto them. Afterwords, go back to the Immigration Desk and there you should state your nation (your main preferably) and your wish to join the forums and Sanctaria should do all the techie-and-way-above-my-paygrade stuff to get you masked as a citizen promptly.(which gives you full acces to the forums).

You can also join our discord to hang out with the chill people of the IDU who have a discord account or further world build your nation using our Wikipedia style IDUwiki.

Final exams... those were the days.

What can I say...?

The Government of the Dominion of Sensumia is proud to unveil its new flag.

The blue represents the sky above the Dominion.
The green represents the ground of the Dominion.
The red star represents the Dominion Capital Territory.
The white stars represent the four provinces of the Dominion.

The flag has been replaced at all government installations and buildings this morning. It is recommended citizens replace their previous Sensumian flags (which were unfortunately not unique) as quickly as possible by bringing in their old flag at their local Sensumian Citizen Services branch to receive a new flag at no cost.

Nice flag.

I'll look into it if & when I have the time, but RL is being a bit awkward at present... and the change to the map's scale, no matter how desirable that might have been in terms of giving people more space, has made some of my earlier ideas about such matters inappropriate for various reasons (including, but not limited to, the associated changes in nations' latitudes).

Absolutely no worries! Thanks anyway!

I hope the strike doesn’t affect you too badly. But I’m excited to see what you RP!

Neat. I too came up with an epic RP idea. Granted, this was at 2 AM last night. I still have to refine it though. Anyone who is interested in having a big part in it blast a TG to me whenever ya want. I am not having this thing until summer anyway.

I'm going to start a new nation as a rival to my main. Anything I should be aware of other than the obvious "don't join the WA a second time" rule?

Why is your school striking?

Don't apply for the IDUSA with the alt. It is limited to one membership per user, not nation. Other than that, don't be like me and not develop your alt at all for 6 months.

And don't be like me and continue creating new nations to the point where you can barely manage them :)

Bolsonaro thought it would be fun to cut spending on federal schools by 38%
said schools were lacking funding since 2011

So I can move it to the IDU but only my main is in the SA. Got it, thanks!

Yes. You can have as many nations in The IDU as you like. Only one nation per user can be in the states assembly/executive position.

Another IDU logistics detail is up for for vote on the forums in their usual spot. I would be grateful if y'all would vote for those who are eligible.

We'll see you at the games!

The Holy Theocracy of Spiritumia is proud to join the IDU.

Our flock fled Sensumia for our current lands many years ago. While we do not believe in the decadent and demented democracy as practiced by our cousins in Sensumia, we believe in Holy Democracy as practiced by our Holy Order of Priests in the Spiritumian Assembly, who are divinely invested with the knowledge to move our great people forward.

Greetings!

Election due?

Writing about ‘Hogwings’ has prompted me to think about the nation’s other schools too, only three of which I’d name before this. Basic educational systems vary from clan to clan, and I’m not going to go into that much detail yet, but there are some places (mostly boarding schools) with wider reputations and I’ve started to make notes about those _
FeastingField College (situated close to the old ‘Royal’ capital city), Deerpark College (an all-girls school); Yarrow School (near the north-western edge of the modern capital city), Tommbrauh College (in a more rural area; the place where rules for ‘Field-Ball’, historically the nation’s most important team sport, were codified), Holy Ternian’s School (for “adventurous” girls), the ‘Greyfurrers’ schools, and a handful or so more. Feel free to guess at RL counterparts for these…
