This guide will give you easy ways to help you start RPing in IoC, along with some helpful tips and tricks to make your RP game better!

Before you can join RP in our region, you have to have land on one of our maps. In order to get this land, you should contact the current cartographer through telegrams or through the RMB. You can find the maps here: page=dispatch/id=1557811
Note: You must follow map rules. This is mainly for the Moon, Venus, and Mars maps.

You will have to give them your claim, which should be of an appropriate size, i.e not a massive landmass, to the cartographer. If it is approved, you have land!

For RP, there are a few factbooks you may want to make to have information or other things for your nation in our RP for player reference.

These kinds of factbooks are as follows:

• Overview of Nation

• Character Information

• Military Information

• Leader Information

  Overviews generally have information about your nation as a whole, and can be beneficial for future reference. A good template can be found here: Template

  Character Information factbooks generally have information about your nation's characters. You can find some examples by looking at some of our nations.

  Military Information give general information about your armed forces. Note that all military have to abide by the stats we use.

  Leader Information is a factbook about your nation's current leader. A good template can be found here: Template

Characters are who you RP with in our region. They can include, but are not limited to:

• Your leader

• Leader's Family

• Government Officials

• Others

Generally speaking, it's good to include a few stats and a picture with your characters. Things like age, health, gender, relationships, and other things can be used as stats for reference.

For character pictures, a good place to find some would be here:

Most images on this site are NS-rule abiding, and you can find plenty of character images on here.

Not content with those? Thats fine, you can also look up other resources or search for images directly on your search engine.

To upload images, use the [img] and [/img] BBcode text, and between them, put the URL of the image.

For image hosting, which you'll need to get a good URL, use ImgBB.

Depending on your nation, you may also have different layouts or amounts of information for your characters. Look at some other factbooks to get some reference if you need too.

In IoC, we use some of the NationStates stats in our RP. These stats are, as follows:

1. Population

2. Average Income

3. Industry: Automobile Manufacturing

4. Scientific Advancement

5. Economy

6. Industry: Information Technology

7. Health

8. Lifespan

9. Economic Output

10. Human Development Index

11. Government Size

12. Industry: Arms Manufacturing

13. Public Healthcare

These stats determine what your nation is able to do in RP. Stats are increased and decreased by answering issues. A guide to all the effects of issues can be found here.

Arguably, the most important is Scientific Advancement, or SA. Use this factbook to determine your tech level:

SA determines what technology you have, on a few different areas, mainly for your military and citizens.
