North trideshia

(( OOC )) Sorry for my inactivity again, I'll try to continue from where I left off with my RPs, even though a lot of time has passed. I got permission from Afsharid Persia to use his news agency for this post.

Border Clashes Between Ethiopia and North trideshia Continue

A total of 40 people have died in cross-border firefights again this week, as North trideshia and Ethiopia continue their standoff on the border. Social media has been abuzz with images of a North trideshian town being shelled by the Ethiopians, with the North trideshians claiming it had caused the deaths of some 20 civilians. At the same time, the Ethiopians are claiming a North trideshian missile had struck a bus filled with civilians. In the end, both of these stories had turned out to be fake. This time.

The tense situation began when two North trideshia Eurofighter Typhoons shot down an Ethiopian Su-25 plane that was skirting on the North trideshian - Ethiopian border. According to the North trideshian Ministry of Defence, the plane ventured into the "Trideshian Priority One Strategic Airspace T1R", a no-fly zone enforced by the Royal Defence Force of North trideshia in the Salaliyah Desert in South Rumaliah governorate, and disregarded all attempts by the North trideshians to divert it away. The Ethiopians stand by their side of the story, claiming the Su-25 was on a routine patrol near the border zone, and it was downed inside Ethopian airspace.

Both sides have seemingly been unwilling to stand down so as not to seem weak, while at the same time still not initiating any sort of offensive operations. So far, the deadliest confrontation was when a unit of the Royal Defence Force of North trideshia attempted to take over the contested town of Tishrun on the Ethiopian side of the border. The Ethiopian forces beat back the attack, with both sides suffering casualties. Otherwise, the clashes have not amounted to much other than occasional firefights over long distances or artillery striking suspected enemy positions.

Any political resolution to the standoff or "border war", as some like to call it, is unlikely as long as both sides think taking the first step towards a peace settlement would be to show weakness.

Sultana Nadiyya Visits Somaliland Amid Standoff With Ethiopia

Although the standoff between North Trideshia and Ethiopia has been going on for a few weeks now, Sultana Nadiyya has decided to leave for her previously announced trip to visit the capital of Somaliland, Hargeisa, and hold a meeting with the President of the internationally unrecognized nation, President Muse Bihi Abdi. However, due to the tense situation with Ethiopia the Sultana's airplane was escorted by a wing of Eurofighter Typhoons.

North Trideshia recognized the nation as independent from Somalia in September of 2018, during another of Sultana Nadiyya's state visits to the nation. The recognition came as a surprise to many, who only expected the Sultana to visit President Muse Bihi Abdi in hopes of co-operating on cross-border security, since the Jundallah terror group was still operating from across the Somalian border and the central government in Mogadishu was unwilling to lift a finger to counter it.

Sultana Nadiyya's visit to the country has been received very warmly by the population, with a large crowd gathering outside of the Hargeisa International Airport to express their gratitude, waving the flags of both Somaliland and North Trideshia.

We talked to Professor Ramla el-Khalaf, a senior analyst in the North Trideshian Institute of Foreign Affairs, about the purpose of the visit:

"In many ways, this visit is likely just a sort of... courtesy call, if I could use that word. There aren't any pressing matters that the two leaders, President Abdi and Sultana Nadiyya, necessarily need to discuss, but it's a reminder to the Somalilanders that North Trideshia is their friend. Regardless, I expect there to be some discussions of economic co-operation, like increasing trade and lowering tariffs on goods coming from Somaliland. The highway between Rumaliah and Hargeisa was just recently improved, so now it's likely the next focus might be a railway connection. And of course we can't forget that there is currently a detachment of the Royal Trideshian Rangers that are training the Somalilander Army, so perhaps some sort of military exercises could be on the table."

The meeting will take two days according to a bulletin released by the Office of the Sultana.

Alliance of National Salvation Begins Protests in Three Cities

Supporters and members of the newly established "Alliance of National Salvation" coalition of conservative parties have taken to the streets to protest the government "suppressing the opposition" and arresting the old leader of the Daljir Party. The protests are taking place in Tadjoura, Rumaliah, Marmoul, with the largest gathering of people in Rumaliah, where the largest supporter base of the conservatives lie.

So far the protests have gone peacefully and without any larger altercations, but the North Trideshian Police has deployed extra forces to all three cities in an attempt to prevent them from spiraling out of control. Photos of riot control vehicles have been also circulating in social media, mostly in and around Tadjoura.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs comments on the protests saying: "The protestors applied for a permit for the protests, and protesting is something that our constitution allows, and as such we will take no extra measures unless the situation warrants it. It should be mentioned, however, that due to the ongoing tensions on the border with Ethiopia, the government reserves the right to act within it's emergency powers should the need arise."

While the protests were started by the "Alliance of National Salvation", they seem to be less organized than the government had expected. Multiple smaller scale protests took place around Tadjoura and Rumaliah, with the police peacefully moving in and clearing them out due to their unlawfulness. Because of this unorganized factor, it is hard to say when the protests might end.

North Trideshia Scuttles Ethiopian Navy Ships Moored in al-Sardiq Port

The ongoing standoff between North Trideshia and Ethiopia has taken a new turn as the Royal Navy of North Trideshia has decided to scuttle the mothballed Ethiopian Navy ships that have been moored in al-Sardiq Port ever since North Trideshia gained independence from Ethiopia, and thus caused Ethiopia to lose it's access to the sea.

In 1996, North Trideshia purchased five of the remaining 20 ships, two Osa-II class missile boats and three patrol craft.

Out of the 15 ships that were moored in the port, the Royal Navy of North Trideshia scrapped five of the remaining Osa-II class missile boats and stored them as replacement parts for the currently serving Osa-IIs. The rest of the ships, consisting of mostly outdated patrol boats and torpedo craft, were towed out to sea and scuttled.

Likud Leadership Change
Longtime leader of the Likud – National Liberal Movement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stepped down from his position as leader of the Likud Party, due to his inability to form a governing coalition after the April 2019 and September 2019 National Elections in Israel, in order to give a another opportunity for the Likud Party to form a government in Israel.

It has been announced by the Likud Party, following his resignation as Leader of the Likud, that Benjamin Netanyahu will continue to serve in Knesset, and will potentially serve in the next government of Israel. With the resignation of Netanyahu, the Likud has announced that MK. Avigail Levinson Minister for Home Front Defense will be assuming leadership of the Party during this period of uncertainty.

Avigail Levinson, has said that her aim is to establish a Unity Government in Israel, so that they may address important issues such as pressing security threats. Levinson is set to meet with Avigdor Lieberman of Yisrael Beiteinu and Benny Gantz of the Blue and Whites tomorrow to begin discussions of the formation of a broad Center-Right Unity Government.

BREAKING: Governing Coalition Formed

After two nation elections in Israel, weeks of uncertainty, and rumors of a third election, a governing coalition has been formed. News broke early this morning after a meeting between the leadership of the Likud, Yisrael Beiteinu, and Blue and White came to it's end. Blue and White Leader Benny Gantz has agreed to enter into a coalition government with the Likud, lead by Avigail Levinson and Yisrael Beiteinu lead by Avigdor Lieberman.

It has been confirmed Avigail Levinson, of the Likud will serve as the nations Prime Minister, while Benny Gantz will serve as Deputy Prime Minister, and Avigdor Lieberman will take up the post of Justice Minister.

Little is currently known about the deal struck between the leadership of the parties, however a press conference featuring Levinson, Gantz, and Liberman is expected to take place following a joint meeting with President Harpaz. Interestingly enough it was also announced that former Prime Minister and leader of the Likud Party, Benjamin Netanyahu will serve in the new government of Israel as the Minister of National Defense.

Many reporters and news pundits across Israel are wondering just how this new and unexpected coalition will govern. It is expected that as the Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu are Right Wing, and Blue and White is Centrist, that the government will take up the mantle of a Center-Right Secular Nationalist Government.

Princess Ibolya Named Heir Presumptive

Budapest Courts Disturbed

The Hungarian parliament has today expressed its deep dissatisfaction with the King through voting a parliamentary request of restoration, a powerful but ultimately unenforceable demand for the king to revoke a recent decision. These recent disruptions in the world of Hungarian courtly politics come on the heels of a recent announcement from Gödöllő Palace, residence of the king, naming her royal highness Princess Andrássy Ibolya as heir presumptive to the thrones of Hungary and Croatia. Issue has been taken in all areas of the court as various factions of the parliament band together in protest against the possibility of a Queen Ibolya.

Rallied by the Queen's Faction, historically a staunch supporter of the King, Queen-Mother Maria led the call of parliament to have the Princess removed from the position of heir presumptive in favour of a more suitable candidate from one of the king's more distant cousins of the Andrássy lineage.

Since her childhood, Princess Ibolya has not been viewed favourably by members of the court and the wider Andrássy family. Numerous instances of outrage and scandal have plagued the princess with particular instances such as the infamous tarring and feathering of the Cardinal in Esztergom when the princess was 12 and her more recent obscene outburst in parliament several weeks ago. While the protestations against her appointment have been powerful, they have not been entirely united. As a decorated major in the Royal Hungarian Army who has won commendations for actions both on and off the field of battle, many of the Hungarian nobility of military background have displayed some grudging or even forthright support for the princess. Many have even cited her particularly professional behaviour and superb service record whilst serving as the third highest ranking officer in the MKH's 14th armoured brigade Egervári Hussars.

The criticism has not been limited to the princess, many opponents of the king have also taken this opportunity to attack the king's reign, some taking issue with his young age, and others criticising his close relationship to the Princess Ibolya. While the majority of these criticisms have been viciously beaten back in parliament by the Queen's Faction, the reappearance of anti-royal factions in the parliament, however minuscule in stature, has revealed a new weakness in the previously assumed solidarity of the Hungarian parliament.

Being that the Princess was absent on excuse of her military duties, there has been no comment on the issue from the Princess herself. Prince Andrássy Jenö of Szatmár, the primogeniturally next in line after princess Ibolya for the throne, however offered a comment to papers:

"I do not criticise my cousin's dedication to the crown. I just hope it never sits on her head. A fine military officer she may be, but even in foreign lands, her violent dislike of politics is well known."

Night after Show

Louis sat in his seat. He looked out the window. The hall outside was amazing. He loved the vocals and the way that voices could be sounded. He loved playing the trombone where he could be seen. It was a change in scenery. He smiled once more at the thought of him getting the final lines of the entire musical. "You're drifting..." a familiar voice said to him. He whipped his head around to see June sitting next to him. "What are you thinking about, Louis?" she said as she laughed. June was the actress of Suzanne Sainité Belair in the play. She loved the role a lot. Louis loved how supportive of the role he was.

"Freedom... Freedom comes. It won't be long, it won't be long..." she started to sing under her breath. Louis looked at her. This was the last song of the Suzanne Sainité Belair role as this was after she had been captured in the play. She sang herself to sleep on Louis's should before she was done. Louis took her hand as the bus went into motion after the whole cast and crew boarded. The bus made its way to the hotel. It took the highway, which only took around 20 minutes. On the bus ride, Louis had seen many trees out of the window as well as many buildings that he supposed were apartments.

When the bus had arrived at the hotel, it was a frenzy to get off. Everyone grabbed their backpacks from the overhead compartments and went into the hotel. June held Louis's hand as a signal for him to wait. He was getting anxious, but he did as his girlfriend told him to do. When everyone was off the bus, they got up and grabbed their bags and went into the hotel. Louis grabbed his trombone quickly and caught up with June as they went into the elevator that would take them to floor number twelve. They opened the door and Louis set down his trombone case. He took a seat on the window sill and took out his phone to look at the time. "22:45," he said aloud.

Louis rested his head on his head in the hotel bed he was on. "This is delicate..." he said as he hit the matress. "Louis, it is soft because it's a bed," June laughed from their bathroom. She got into bed a short while later. She had just recently taken off her makeup. "June, can we just rest tomorrow?" he asked. June smiled and just had him rest in her lap. She turned on the television as she looked at him once more. "We can do whatever we want tomorrow. No show tomorrow," she said. "We do have a tour, however." Louis nodded as he looked from side to side. June kissed his forehead once more before heading off to sleep. Louis followed her to sleep. "What is, what was, what is a goner," he sang aloud before he fell fast asleep.

            Deradicalisation and Further Advice
            Parliament House, Albury

A study by conservative think-tank 'Institute of Public Affairs' is under investigation after the Federal Government hope to 'de-radicalise' Australia, much to the dislike of some Australians. President Scott Morrison pointed out that, aside from the six years between 2007 and 2013, Australia has been under the guidance of National Republican leadership since 1996. Despite this, Australia has not been able to 'defend' itself from the left's attacks on Australian culture; specifically the indoctrination of young Australians through social media, activist groups, and 'hijacked' education.

Australia's education system, like many western nations, have been taken over by pro-socialist ideals. Although not as severe as, for example, the United States, Australia is still constantly mislead by false education and fake news. As a result, Australians have become greatly mislead in terms of issues such as homosexuality, climate change, and immigration. Australian President Scott Morrison has stated that, although the federal government can do little in terms of changing education, he wants to greatly balance the facts and opinions being given to young Australians, and to distinglish the difference between fact and opinion. Morrison stated at a press conference in Albury;

"There are two genders. That is a fact. The world will end if we do nothing about climate change. That is an opinion. It is important that we seperate fact from fiction, and that we stop presenting opinions as facts and vice versa to a young generation of Australians. School is a place to learn, not to be indoctrinated by left-of-centre ideas. We are not China, we are not the Soviet Union. We are Australia, a country where people are free to have and share their own opinions. However, school is no place for indoctrination. It is not fair to hound children with radical ideologies that won't do Australia good. We are a Judeo-Christian nation open to all people of all walks of life. We are not an Islamic, we are not a White-hating, we are not a radicalised LGBTI-based nation. We are a fair, free, independent nation, and it should stay that way."

In 2012, the Institute of Public Affairs published a parliamentary brief report titled '20 policies to fix Australia,' which included 15 polices the Coalition should impliment but will not, and 5 policies that the Coalition will impliment but should not. The 15 policies (1-15) that should be implimented and 5 (16-20) that should not are;

    1) Remove all references to race in the constitution
    2) Repeal Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act (1975)
    3) Withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement
    4) Implement a flat income tax
    5) Reduce the corperate tax below 20 per cent, in line with competitor nations
    6) Appointment of High Court Justices to be rotated between the seven states and the Federation
    7) Double the size of the House of Representatives, and halve the size of the Ministry
    8) Privatise the ABC
    9) Re-introduce debt celing
    10) Investigate the Bureau of Meteorology’s tampering with temperature and climate data
    11) Abolish compulsory superannuation
    12) Abolish the Renewable Energy Target and end all subsidies to wind, solar, and hydro-electricity generators
    13) Introduce a one-in-two-out approach to reduce red tape
    14) Repeal Fair Work Act
    15) Legalise nuclear power in Australia
    16) Do not hold a Referendum to divide Australians by race
    17) Do not raise taxes
    18) Do not raise spending
    19) Do not proceed with Snowy 2.0
    20) Do not introduce new anti-discrimination laws

Federal Parliment is set to discuss these recommendations on the house sitting next friday after the National Republican Party meet to discuss which ones they hope to follow through with. The Federal Government, with the help of the Centre Alliance and Katter's Australia Party, has already legalised nuclear development.

The wait is finally over! Across the country, the polls have opened, and over the course of today, the nation will decide the next leader of Krazhnoyevsk.

In Krazhnoyevsk’s bicameral legislative system, the lower house (Mazhilis) is elected through a proportional representation system, in which each voting district pledges a certain number of seats to the Mazhilis, based on its population. For example, Karaganda, with its population of around 1.35 million, pledges 45 seats to the Mazhilis, whereas Aktobe, with its population of around 750,000, pledges 25 seats. Within each district, the seats are split amongst the seven political parties, according to how well they each performed within the district.

Once the votes have been counted, the results for each district will be released in alphabetical order, starting with Akmola, and finishing with West Kazakhstan. After the results for the Mazhilis have been released, the 100 members of the upper house (Senate) may be appointed, in accordance with how well each party did the Mazhilis elections. The results will be posted as they come out in the dispatch below. (NB: It is far better to view the results table on a computer, as opposed to a mobile device)

Central America to modernize its Armed Forces
The war against drugs and gangs is urgently calling the country to modernize its armed forces to be a priority.

Central America needs to militarize itself to combat drug trafficking but for decades its has been the opposite due to the peace accords which forced the country to substantially demilitarize significantly which has affected the country defense institution. During the Morales administration, the national congress passed a proposal which would allow the country to invest millions of dollars in its armed forces but due to the peace accords not allowing the country to 'remilitarize' itself such action was never made, however due to the National Territorial Control plan the proposal was retaken by the current government. The current government vows to rebuild the country's military in order to fight crime by rebuilding the country naval, air, and army capabilities. Currently the country is searching for potential countries to buy equipment such Isreal, United States, Australia, and European countries, but has also been interested in investing in their own equipment such as the Armadillo APC and VCTA2 which is produced locally by the National Military War Material Service. Meanwhile ASTIMARCA is set to complete its yet to be revealed naval project next year. The country is expected to soon begin finding potential countries to negotiate with on such case, though it's not known when.

EU COUNCIL PRESIDENT HOLDS LECTURE AT ECONOMY FACULTY

EU Council President Kristijan Konstantinović held a lecture today at Faculty of economy of Belgrade University, titled "Concept of European unity and its implications on business". At very same faculty where he has studied, Konstantinović lectured for two hours, including time spent in answering students questions. Students interest was high and amphitheater was full of students from both that faculty and other faculties, as well as interested people who are not students. Lecture itself was not much interesting, although it gave some useful information from inside EU ruling circles about business, but what was interesting was Konstantinović's answers on student questions.

Student: Mr President, how is University of Europe going on in the rest of continent?
Konstantinović: Very well, thank you for asking. It is a stimulative project for European education that was accepted and pushed by majority of the EU member states. Currently we have around 20 universities all around the EU working under the same mandate. Those are the first days and I believe that there are numerous obstacles, but it is important that from the beginning they have started doing their job on a healthy basis and that results will follow. This is their first semester, so let's give them a chance before we give any kind of comment. For now, I am an optimist, as are all those who still work on making this project even better than what it is in a present time.
Student: What is atmosphere on a Brussels-Sarajevo-Ankara level?
Konstantinović: After a long period of deep crisis, I believe that we finally have something exact on the table in front of us. As situation in Bosnia is getting more normal each day, according to our High Representatives who are still in Sarajevo, so is our relationship with both Bosnia and Turkey getting back to its level before the crisis. We spoke with Turkish representatives and they gave us some assurances that their military presence in Bosnia will come back to a status quo in a short period. As their presence is getting lower, so is the EuroCorp presence on the Bosnian border getting lower, although everyone stopped speaking of them for some reason. After military presence on both sides of Bosnian border are minimized, I believe we may finally arrange the finalization of Turkish eurointegration procedures. And, I must say this, situation is far more serious in a positive sense of term seriousness after Prime Minister Kim took office. She's a woman with a serious agenda with whom I already had a chance to speak in Istanbul, and I find her a good negotiator who respects her people and their interests in an appropriate way, so we shall see how far is she ready to go when it comes to finalization of eurointegration for Turkey, which is of greatest importance for their side, as well as for our side.
Student: What about the UN reforms proposals we heard from a different world leaders on a latest session?
Konstantinović: If you ask me from a position of EU Council President, well, I must say that we haven't opened that topic on a EU level yet, so I can give you just my personal opinion which is of the low importance in executive sense. I think that reform is needed. Berlin wall has fallen and principles of Yalta are behind us - future is ahead. We need to adapt, or history will run over us all and offer new chances to those who are better in adapting. That's why I believe UN structure should be reformed. UN should, if I may say that in a bit immodest tone, look at the EU and learn from us how one should reform itself. Only permanent openess towards what is new is what keeps an international organization still alive trough longer period of time. I haven't spoke with Mr Guterres yet, so I don't know what his position is, but I think that he is a reasonable man who will understand the necessity of reforms in an appropriate manner.
Student: Is Green Initiative still alive in the EU?
Konstantinović: Yes, it is. It has a large source of ideas coming from the north part of the EU, constantly enabling us to come with fresh proposals regarding usage of plastic and similar stuff, but others from all around the EU are also involving. Currently, we are sponsoring the organizing of a large Think Tank composed of a plenty of relevant scientists coming from the EU, to give us some exact suggestions regarding this project. But, let us not be foolish, the EU itself is already doing much for a greener world and our levels of determination to do so are higher than in a rest of world. That doesn't mean that we should stop and rest on that path, but that we should offer a hand of help towards the developing nations who are some of the largest sources of polluting on planet. If we make them questioning their own economic future in terms of eco-friendliness, we have done our job in a best possible way.
Student: Are you already getting tired of your position?
Konstantinović: No. Are you already getting tired of me on my position? (smiling)

Prime Minister Ayla-ah Kim addresses the Knesset

"Speaker, Deputy Speaker, distinguished members, I am honored to speak in this chamber, and I am committed to renewing the alliance between our nations and the friendship between our people. This is my first trip overseas as Prime Minister of the Turkish Nation. I am happy to be here today in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel. Many across the Islamic world will ask why I have chosen Israel as the first nation I visit. Is the Turkish-Israeli alliance worth it? My answer is simple: Ken, yes. Israel is a critical ally. Israel is an important part of the Middle East, and democracy in it. And Turkey and Israel must stand together, and work together in order to overcome the challenges of our time. This morning I had the privilege of touring your capital. I was deeply impressed by this beautiful city that serves as the capital of this democratic nation, where the faiths of the world come together to live in peace, and harmony. A future of survival for the Jewish people that was carved after WW2, just as ours was carved after WW1. Both our futures were not easily assured. At the end of World War I, Turkey could have succumbed to the foreign powers that were trying to claim its territory, or sought to restore an ancient empire. But Turkey chose a different future. We freed ourselves from foreign control. And you founded a Republic that commands the respect the wider world. Under the leadership of our Eternal President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. There is a simple truth to this story: Turkey’s democracy is our own achievement. It was not forced upon us by any outside power, nor did it come without struggle and sacrifice. Like any democracy, Turkey draws strength from both the successes of the past, and from the efforts of each generation of Turks that makes new progress for my people. That story is the same for the Israeli people, for millennia fighting the world for your survival. Only finding home, and safety in a few nations. And I am proud that the Ottoman Empire, and today the Turkish Republic is a home for the Jewish people where they live as not just equals. But as brothers and sisters. Sharing the same destiny. Our country’s democracy has its own story. One that is memorized in this chamber, and throughout Israel. As a beacon of hope for the Middle East, where dictatorships have become the norm. Israeli democracy took decades to build. There were frequent delays. Over time, more and more people contributed to help make this movement, and today it stands tall as an ally of the Turkish people. Our friendship is one that has flourished in the years after World War II, when Israel came into existence. Standing for peace, while it’s Arab neighbours have only wished for war, and the total destruction of Israel. Calling it a holy war, while in reality that couldn’t be farther from the truth. As the leader of the stronger Muslim majority nation, and one of Israel’s closest allies. I can proudly say that this conflict not only has nothing to do with religion, rather is a conflict of failures who are in denial. Whenever Jerusalem has offered peace, they have responded with war. Enough is enough, that is why this alliance exists. So that Israel may exist, as a free democracy. Together we are stronger. The ties among our people have deepened as well, and more and more our cooperation continues to allow our people to thrive together. Turkey and Israel may not see eye to eye on every issue. That is to be expected, as no two nations do. But we have stood together through many challenges over the last sixty years. And because of the strength of our alliance and the endurance of our friendship, both Turkey and America are stronger, and the world is more secure. Now, our two democracies are confronted by an unprecedented set of challenges. A terror crisis that recognizes no borders. Extremism that leads to the killing of innocent men, women and children. Strains on our energy supply and a changing climate. The proliferation of the world’s deadliest weapons, and the persistence of tragic conflict. These are the great tests of our young century. And the choices that we make in the coming years will determine whether the future will be shaped by fear or by freedom; by poverty or by prosperity; by strife or by a just, secure and lasting peace. This much is certain: no one nation can confront these challenges alone, and all nations have a stake in overcoming them. That is why we must listen to one another, and seek common ground. That is why we must build on our mutual interests, and rise above our differences. We are stronger when we act together. That is the message that I have carried with me here today to Jerusalem. This economic cooperation only reinforces the common values that we share as democracies. So in meeting the challenges of the 21st century, we must seek the strength of an alliance that is truly united, peaceful and free. In the Middle East, we share the goal of a lasting peace between Israel and its neighbors. And let me be clear that is a future where the Israeli people will not know war, but live in peace like the Turkish people. Above all, we will demonstrate through actions our commitment to a better future. We want to help more children get the education that they need to succeed. We want to promote health care in places where people are vulnerable. We want to expand the trade and investment that can bring prosperity for all people. In the months ahead, I will present specific programs to advance these goals. Our focus will be on what we can do, in partnership with people across our nations, to advance our common hopes, and our common dreams. And when people look back on this time, let it be said of Turkey that we extended the hand of friendship. There is an old Turkish proverb: 'You cannot put out fire with flames.' Israel knows this. Turkey knows this. There are some who must be met with force. But force alone cannot solve our problems, and it is no alternative to extremism. The future must belong to those who create, not those who destroy. That is the future we must work for, and we must work for it together. I know there are those who like to debate Israel’s future. They see your country as evil, or as good. We must change that. That the world can truly see what Israel is, what the Turks have seen for a very long time. I am honored to stand here with you, to look forward to the future that we must reach for together, and to reaffirm Turkey’s commitment to our strong and enduring friendship. Thank you."

Today a small plane has been left dangling upside down after getting entangled in ski lift cables in the Italian Alps.
Dramatic pictures were released by Italian mountain rescuers following the crash in Prato Valentino on Thursday.
The pilot had light injuries after being thrown out of the plane. He is now being treated in hospital, the rescuers say.
The only passenger on board the plane was unharmed.
One of the skiers was struggling with a knee injury, and was able to call for help using a mobile phone.
The pilot said the rescuers had chosen to perform the manoeuvre, known as "pressing on the skids", because of the weather conditions during the incident, which took place on 10 October.
