AVIC Officials to visit Magyarorszag-

Following discussions and talks behind closed doors, officials from AVIC have announced that they will visit the Magyar Királyi Államvasutak Gépgyára, or MAVAG, as well as Ganz Works of Magyarorszag-.

This comes as AVIC seeks a developmental partner for its AVIC Advanced Heavy Lifter project, the country's debut heavy-lift cargo helicopter. Based on the Russian Mi-26 and American CH-35K, it is meant to have a maximum takeoff weight of 42 tonnes, incorporating four large freight containers inside the cargo cabin. Loading and unloading will occur through a large ramp at the rear. It has seven blades on its main rotor, in addition to a five-blade anti-torque rotor.

Currently, AVIC maintains that the helicopter will be able to attain a cruise speed of 270 km/h, an 800 km range, as well as a service ceiling of 6 kilometres. Propulsion was planned to be provided by the Ukrainian Motor-Sich D-136T or Russian Aviadvigatel PD-12V turboshafts, but AVIC has said that "it would be open to utilizing Hungarian made components, if they are reliable and powerful".

Following a $2 billion USD investment by the state and various other entities, AVIC hopes to hit a production target of 200 Heavy Lifters, and begin its export as well.

"We hope that Hungary takes us on this offer," an AVIC official said shortly before leaving for Budapest. "We hope to develop our helicopter with help from Hungary, a strategic partner with our nation. It would be mutualy beneficial to our industries, and serve to strengthen our ties."

MÁVAG and Ganz Joint Heavy Engines Program

Following an expression of interest in a design and construction partnership from the Chinese AVIC corporation, the Hungarian government has been extremely keen to gain the AVIC contract for the joint heavy lifter program. MÁVAG engines has been especially keen to enter into this contract. As a state-owned corporation, a great many interests have aligned with the interests of the state in such a venture, particularly the prospects of job creation and industrial growth.

Over the course of initial meetings, MÁVAG and Ganz executives will be giving tours to AVIC representatives to showcase Hungarian production capabilities and existing Hungarian engine designs. Hungarian MÁVAG will be giving a special showcase of the Model 11 Turbofan engines that are currently utilised on a number of Hungarian military heavy aircraft designs. While not strictly related to the purposes of the meetings, Ganz executives have been given instructions to provide a limited tour of the naval submarine factory in Fiume. The Hungarian government hopes that should a deal be made here, then potentially further joint projects may be made in the area of naval design and constructions.

In a display of sincerity, the MÁVAG company has pledged the use of the Miskolc design and testing site should the contract be granted to the Hungarian candidates.

EXCLUSIVE: An Interview with President Tokugawa

It has almost been exactly eight years since President Iehiro Tokugawa took power as the President of the Republic, and much has changed since then. Senior Editor of the Ezo Shimpō, Takehiro Hosokawa, sits down with President Tokugawa to discuss his past two terms in office and what's next in his political future, with the next election coming in 2020. The full transcript of the interview follows:

Hosokawa: Mr. President, I thank you very much for agreeing to sit down with the Shimpō today. It's an honor to interview you for the second time in regards to your term in office. Let's get straight into the questions with this: Do you intend to run again for a third term as President?
Tokugawa: It's a pleasure to be here, Mr. Hosokawa. As for your question, I'll leave you and all the readers of the paper in the dark for now. Whether or not I intend to run for a third term will be my own decision when the time comes for my party to nominate its candidate. Of course, I've thought about running for the third time, but it is unprecedented; no president has ever run more than twice, after all. However, I'm leaving the door open, and I will let you know when I make my decision.
Hosokawa: I guess that means we'll have to wait until that time comes then. Onto the next question: with an approval rating of near 79% nearing the end of your term, is there anything that you regret not doing during your second term that you wish you acted on?
Tokugawa: Well, if anything, I suppose I wish I had focused more on helping out the people in the lower class. Under my government, we've increased defense spending from Ľ290 billion to Ľ337 billion, a 13% increase from my previous term. However, despite this boost in social service spending, the rural villages across the nation are still suffering from a lack of welfare and government aid. From Karafuto Prefecture to Chishima Prefecture, many of the villages are suffering. I hope that my successor will be able to help these people more than I have in my current term.
Hosokawa: Mr. President, your party, the Sokudo o Otosu no Tō (Slow Down Party), had only received its upbringing after you were elected to power back in 2012. Do you think that, with the election coming up next year, your party will continue to make the big gains that you've made these past two elections, or do you believe that the opposition parties will overtake you?
Tokugawa: I will admit that my party, having me stand as the candidate for the presidency almost 8 years ago, only achieved true success thanks to my family's background, but our party has multiple strong members and candidates standing as well! Not only is the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Suzuki, very popular in his hometown of Sapporo and Vice-President Tokunaga a well-known former national television host, but many of our sitting assembly members have worked in their communities for years. It is my hope that my party will continue to win more seats in the Kokumin Sengumi, but there is always a possibility that the opposition will make stronger gains than us. As I said before, I won't make any predictions at this time and will leave all doors open.
Hosokawa: Mr. President, thank you so much for this interview. We wish you the best in these last few months as the campaign begins soon.
Tokugawa: It's been a pleasure, as always.

President Tokugawa has been a prominent figure within our Great Republic of Ezo for years, having hailed from the Tokugawa clan, which once ruled all of Nippon before they were defeated by the Japanese Imperialists. His great-great-grandfather, Tokugawa Iesato, served as the first head of the Tokugawa clan post-bafuku.

Takehiro Hosokawa has been the senior editor for The Ezo Shimpō for the past 6 years. He previously worked in news organizations across the world, covering as an international correspondent based in the Republic of Ezo.

Quantum Research: The New Frontier

Over the past two years, the country has aggressively stepped up its pace of quantum research, following an initiative in 2016, wherein a national strategy was established to become technologically self-reliant. Recently, the construction of several high-end LCD production facilities (such as the first Gen 8.5 TFT-LCD production line, or a 10.5th generation LCD plant), the development of a domestic SoC microarchitecture independent from the ARM architectures, as well as 6G research centres spearheaded by Huawei and new 100% domestically sourced electrical chips, has been instrumental to fulfilling this goal.

A quantum computing mega-project, with the goal of achieving significant quantum breakthroughs by 2030, was recently funded by the government, following the establishment of the Chinese National Laboratory for Quantum Information Sciences (CNLQIS). It is expected that the CNLQIS will eventually become a global hub for quantum research, and serve as a powerful, attractive magnet for future research in the quantum field.

Plans for a new national lab for quantum research in Anhui province, dubbed the Anhui National Laboratory for Quantum Research (ANLQR), has also drawn about $400 million in funding by the government, alongside other small investments and funding by private enterprises.

Currently, CNLQIS and ANLQR have set aims to successfully launch satellites and a nationwide fibre-optic network, which transmits information exclusively via quantum bits/qubits. Currently, a fibre link connecting Beijing, Shanghai and other major cities is already in operation, alongside a satellite launched in 2016 which successfully facilitated a hacking-resistant video conference. If implemented successfully, it is said that government or military communications could go completely dark to foreign intelligence sources.

Recently, large numbers of patents have been registered, pertaining to quantum communication-relating devices and technology.

Currently, the country's largest semiconductor manufacturing company, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), is only capable of producing wafers that have a size of 300 to 200mm, as well as integrated circuits with 350 nm to 14 nm process technologies. It is hoped that SMIC could soon be able to enter the playing field and produce 7nm integrated circuits, thereby establishing total independence on foreign integrated circuits by 2020.

The CNLQIS facility has openly invited researchers and scientists from Dvaistic Republic of Serbia, Magyarorszag-, Ezo Kyouwakoku, Afsharid Persia, Boznia-Hersegovina and Krazhnoyevsk to tour, and hopefully participate, in the facility's operations.

However, this invitation was not extended to the US or Australia, due to their anti-Chinese stance.

Elections Open in Two Days:

Since the civil war began, the country has been ravaged from within. Many buildings have collapsed with people trapped inside, fathers and children have died trying to fight for freedom against an oppressive government. With millions now dead and more injured, the government wishes to once again jump onto the train of success, yet this success cannot be guaranteed. Although president Barham Salih is running for re election, candidate Muhammad Abadi, a Shiite from Najaf, has promised to restore the nation's "identity." Mass protests from both sides have already been seen in the streets of Baghdad and Basrah, and more are expected in the others.

Construction of a New Pipeline:

With the destruction of many refineries during the civil war in all parts of the country, President Salih ordered the reconstruction of the most valuable sites first. While these are being built, Salih also ordered the construction of another pipeline to run across the country. Salih spent hours studying oil industry to figure out how to improve the nation's economy. After looking at a map of the pipelines in Iraq, Salih ordered another one to connect Baghdad to Basrah. This was due to the threat of terrorist attacks destroying the only pipeline connecting the north to the south. In order to rebuild an economy, you must give it a solid foundation, before adding more weight.

Improving Relations:

With the civil war now over and the fighting subsiding, the government has decided to try and rebuild relations with their neighbors. President Salih decided to send delegates to Suriah, March 14 Lebanon, and The Turkish-State to help build a new relationship between the nations. As another attempt at peace with the powers in the region, Salih also announced that all recognition of Palestine and recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the Union of Israel. It is not sure whether Salih is doing this for a strategic purpose or to make Iraq less of a threat but one thing is certain, the nation no longer wants to be affiliated with Afsharid Persia.

Verena Goldberg appointed as a new VP of EU Council

On a press conference organized in EU Council headquarters in Brussels, EU Council President Kristijan Konstantinović has announced a new appointment in his team. Dr. Verena Goldberg from Rhineish Republic is going to take office of the Vice President of the EU Council. In a short statement, Konstantinović has explained his decision on both strategic and personal level.

"Ms. Goldberg comes to my team exactly two months since when we took office on August elections. Her responsible approach to the political affairs, as well as her rich experience on this field persuaded me that she's the right person for this job. I have full trust in her and I wish to welcome her to our team, hoping that her energy and creativeness would bring us exactly what we need in this moments. I must say that I see quite a symbolic dimension of this appointment, as it comes exactly 2 months since we took office. Let me state that this is a turning point where our administration ceases to be in it's earliest days and finally enters it's middle period that is going to last for next few years I hope. Journalists who spend days here in this building, waiting for our statements day and night, are very well familiar with nature of this place. EU Council headquarters has became a factory of politics where everyone has a large job to do to make future on our continent better. Therefore, what is always needed is a specific kind of discipline and mutual trust in approach between the Presidency and other EU institutions. And I am sure that as a Vice President, Ms. Goldberg would bring exactly that. Starting from tomorrow, she will help us in shaping our future together." - said Konstantinović

EU Council President addressed situation with Turkey

Later on a same press conference, EU Council President Kristijan Konstantinović addressed situation in relationship between EU and Turkey, after Turkey has decided to suspend it's eurointegration process yesterday, after a key motion for their entrance was blocked on the Council vote. He said:

"That was one unfortunate event, and I'm afraid that our Turkish partners has overreacted on what has happened by suspending the entire process. It came out that cause of yesterday events was a misunderstanding that certain member states delegation has had about the substance of proposed motion, and therefore voted against it. Today, we have made some details clear about the motion itself and putted it back on a vote, and it passed. Therefore, the strong division between the old EU states and our new member states that has yesterday looked a bit deep, today was repaired without causing a much harm.
Now, it's up to Turkish regime to decide. Our doors are still open for them, under the circumstances that are already familiar for weeks. We are just asking for a return of their military presence in Bosnia to the status quo, and we have their assurances that demilitarization of Bosnia would pass in next few weeks. Demilitarization from our side, that would involve moving EuroCorp troops out of the Bosnian borders, would follow their rhythm. Honestly, I am an optimist. Our economies are doing well, our stock markets are doing well and I may say with certain level of clarity that Turkish membership in the EU is just a question of appropriate time and good will from both sides."

TERRORIST ATTACK IN DOWNTOWN DHAKA
Dhaka Info

A religious backed terrorist attack has unfolded in downtown Dhaka, currently emergency services are swarming in the area, protecting and aiding the affected. The terrorist attack occurred at Nrjhor secondary school, the perpetrators, two Islamic fundamentalist males in suicide bombing. The radical new terrorist organisation claiming the attack is the Sunni United front, wishing to accomplish an Islamic caliphate. Currently, three have been reported dead and 12 others severely injured. The casualties are currently in hospital, most expecting a full recovery by next week. Dhaka has been on extra attention, and counter terrorism funding has sharply increased. The Sunni United front, based on the outskirts of Rangpur, relies on guerilla warfare but has begun to receive unknown traces of arms and ammunition. Bangladesh is currently tracing this supply source down, but progress is slow. Many journalists and tourist in the area will be now guided by security due to the risk of the organisation capturing them as hostages. Their current numbers are estimated to be around 2K, and have been described for those unfortunate enough to witness them, as dark army uniform, with Arabic lettering on their chest, and many with rifles. The Bangladesh army pleads the public to report any and all warning signs, and currently non Muslim religious centres are on lock down as increasing threats by the organisation has been reported. Fear prevails the military as a recent report of an ambush of a platoon sent in the basin passing the district. The army promises that this will not result in a civil war, yet many still fear the strength of the group will grow. Currently, only small portion of the rural outskirts of the district are under terrorist control, and over 6k soldiers are to be implemented in the coming weeks, and to search and destroy any bases and perhaps execute the unknown leader.

Recent local tech company dominates Bangladesh
Dhaka Info
The newly formed tech company serving Bangladesh based originally in Chittagong, Q2, has now spread all across Bangladesh, taking pride by the upper middle class, able to afford high end products of the company. The company specialises in the mobile industry and has rapidly begun to form a monopoly on the business, only competed by companies such as Android and Huawei, whilst companies such as Apple are demolished in Bangladesh. The company has been accused of horrific work conditions and low payment, however many fear that going against the companies wishes will crush the now prospering mobile tech industry, the company has begun to face hot water from the Bengal government, fearing to upset China, has made restrictions to ensure huawei's status, many oppositions to this call the government,
"China's sock puppet"
Social media platforms depict many outraged at the work of the leadership, with some PM's openly stating them destroying their huawei's in exchange for Q2 phones, and in fact the official twitter feed of Q2 states,
"What has the government become to if even phone production is tampered with?"
The Bangladesh government however opposes this with claiming,
"Q2 has repeatedly been seen as controlling obscene amounts of the industry and disabling competition."
Many however dispute this fact that it is on unfounded grounds and irrelevant, and that Bangladesh clearly pandering towards huawei represents how powerless the government is. Amir Hakeen has refused this, constantly repeating in speeches,
"China is not a master, but a partner. Bangladesh is sovereign, those who claim not so are hysterical fools who would not be fit to rule the nation."
However other companies, such as Nokia, and Samsung demand the same laws ensuring their power, leaving Bangladesh unsure of the procedure of to take.
