Oh, that's why the Abbeyverne Royal Armed Forces don't take prisoners. Oh, unless they want information. But usually you'll just get shot.
but GEP is normally involved in the same wars as you.
Yup. And they are one of my allies.
*Troops start Firing Mortars at the Northern Trenchs*
So no one would care if they commit war crimes. And that’s my concern, because most nations are his allies.
Well, if you want there to be any laws about war crimes, you'll support my constitution.
I would be glad too, but how?
Have you read it? The dispatch is pinned now.
Ah, that fresh newsprint smell! Enjoy this new issue!
- King Josephus XII (Abbeyverne)
Greater Cyngland has been months without a proper constitution now, and with Cyng’s return it’s become possible to implement one. Both Cyng and Abbeyverne are working on their own takes. Both created polls to gage public opinion, but neither poll had many responses, Abby’s actually garnering none. So we took it one step further and asked nations individually.
Greater Cyngland Weekly: Welcome Cyng! Glad to have you here today. Can you tell us about your charter proposal?
Cyng: Thanks for having me.
This charter is a long time coming. Not too long ago this region was founded, and I had a dream in mind. I've seen the old, tired government tropes of the entrenched establishment, and wanted to reject it. I've watched this region grow bigger and bigger, and we've gone through many attempts of government. This charter is the culmination of my vision, I want a system where all can participate, while maintaining the stability and sound governance we need. In this charter, we keep a system of regional officers similar to the one we have now, but formalize and codify the responsibilities, authorities, and practices of each office, as well as hold regular elections, rather than the spontaneous ones we've had so far. Then we have the legislature, where all constituent nations will get a chance to write and vote for acts, motions, and measures, that influence the governance and culture of our region. My goal is to not just create a representative and engaging system of government, but a self-sufficient one. It's no secret that my attention has at times been divided. Under my charter, my input won't be necessary for the region to continue the smooth running of itself.
GCW: Wow that’s a lot of info! Can you further explain why do you think these changes are necessary?
Cyng: What's the point of government if not to provide stability? The current system doesn't seem to provide that. When I returned from my absence, I heard abundant talks about the premature death of our region. It seems clear that the people want something new.
But I would in fact argue that the system under my charter is not much different than the one we have now. It takes existing government offices and gives them purpose where there previously was none. The most radical change is the addition of a legislature, which I believe will prove to be a very popular one.
GCW: Nice, so how is yours different from Abbeyverne’s?
Cyng: This is a difficult question to answer, as I am still in the drafting phase. Our documents have many similarities, but we have had a few quite public disagreements in the past. My charter, for one, has longer terms for officials, as well as different voting requirements. Rather than using a registry, my charter would allow all Greater Cyngland natives to vote on the basis of WA membership. This requirement is proven to be completely resistant to all forms of voter fraud, and encouraging more constituent nations to join the WA only facilitates greater security and global influence for us. My charter also adds an extra layer of depth to the executive regional officials with Directors, officials appointed by Commissioners with singular responsibilities. This will allow the Commissioners to pursue grander ideas rather than be preoccupied with multiple tasks, and ensure that essential regional tasks are always being performed. I also include a bicameral legislature, the lower house allowing all nations to participate, with the exclusive upper house being appointed by election.
GCW: Ok, thank you. Before we go, is there anything you want to ask us or tell our readers?
Cyng: I'd like to encourage everyone to have a read of the charter. I always keep the public posted on changes and additions, and I'd love to hear what people think.
GCW: Thank you and have a good day!
Greater Cyngland Weekly: Welcome Abby! Glad to have you here today. Can you tell us about your constitution proposal?
Abbeyverne: Well, essentially the only changes from our present course are the introduction of a Congress, but there are many more aspects such as the Voter Registry, War RP rules, etc.
GCW: Ok, why do you think these changes are necessary?
Abbeyverne: Well, for the registry and Congress, it’s what people voted for, and for the RP rules, everyone wanted it so there wasn’t even a need for a vote.
GCW: Nice, so how is yours different from Cyng’s?
Abbeyverne: Well, I confess I haven’t checked his in a few days, but when I last checked, it was really short on extra, but my biggest contention is the repeated reference to GC as a nation, and the nations as independencies. I see this as a severe breach of the rights of Constituent Nations, as it makes GC have effectively far more control over nations.
GCW: Well thanks then! Before we go, is there anything you want to ask us or tell our readers?
Abbeyverne: I’d ask you read both my constitution and Cyng’s charter.
GCW: Well in that case, thank you and good night!
Greater Cyngland Weekly: Welcome Dictatorya! Glad to have you here today. Can you tell us what you think about Cyng’s proposal?
Dictatorya: Well he did a great job. Not just Cyng, but all others that were part of sharing their ideas or making a foundation for ideas and constitution it self, but the only thing that worries me is that some of nations wont follow the constitution, which everybody spent there time making, but there is a solution for that also.
GCW: Ok, what about Abbeyverne’s?
[bDictatorya:[/b] Honestly, they are almost the same. Abbeyverne’s constitution was just as I said, one of the foundations for the current one. Yes, his constitution is the basics, but this one is richer and takes new ideas and rules, mostly about war which was needed to be controlled.
GCW: Um, wasn’t the war RP rules one of the key points of his new proposal?
Dictatorya: Yeah it is. As a nation with a lot of experience in this region, I saw many unfair, unrealistic and just weird wars. These rules, will be real game changers.
GCW: So here's the hot-button question: if there was a vote right now, for the new constitution/charter, who would you vote for and why? If you don’t know, that’s fine.
Dictatorya: Well, I would vote for Cyngs, just because it includes more things.
GCW: Before we go, is there anything you want to ask us or tell our readers?
Dictatorya: No. I have nothing else to say.
GCW: Ok then, thank you and good night!
Greater Cyngland Weekly: Welcome Southern Prescott! Glad to have you here this morning. Can you tell us what you think about Cyng’s proposal?
Southern Prescott: I think it's good.
GCW: Ok, what about Abbeyverne’s?
Southern Prescott: To be honest, I think Cyngland's proposal is far more better than Abbeyverne, however, the previous constitution written by Cyngland also had some ideas which I disapproved of. In conclusion, I do not like Abbeyverne's ideas.
GCW: Well, I’m sorry but we have to go. Nice discussion!

Greater Cyngland Weekly: Welcome Michaliav, congrats on being February’s nation spotlight! What is your nation’s history?
Michaliav: We were a Small City-State, then Turned into a huge Republic.
GCW: Interesting, so what gave you the idea to create this nation?
Michaliav: Found NS Via Google. And Created a Nation.
GCW: Ok, does this nation reflects your IRL political views? If you aren’t comfortable with that, don’t answer.
