Perhaps it was the one attempting to impeach Trump. I don't think it would count as a coup, though. Aren't coups supposed to be a violent or forceful take over? Not sure. It is within the law to impeach a president, so I don't think it counts as a coup. I could be wrong though.

That still solves nothing regarding the impeachment and its effects on the nation. An impeachment is meant to remove a president who is a liability to the safety of the US and who is unfit for the position he was elected to. As it should in any other nation, if an official threatens the very nation they lead they should be removed from office, an impeachment just ensures that it's done so within the confines of the law.
EDIT:
Trump has known ties with Putin, who's administration influenced the very election that got him to be president. Just last week or something it became clear that Russia has put bounties on US troops, which did take the American lives yet he didn't even respond to it. He has lost the economic war against China (who he never could've won to begin with). He lies to the American people nearly hourly. He lies about telling lies. He downplays the very pandemic that has killed hundreds of thousands worldwide. Has attempted (and still is) to downsize the US' funds to its national and international medical organizations. No matter how you spin it, Trump is up there amongst the very worst US democracy has to offer
