JNN: Far-right Party on the Rise
In recent weeks, a party known as the Japanese Purity Party has gained popularity in a number of prefectures. This comes a little over a year away from the transitional elections to the parliamentary system. The party's rhetoric appears to promote an ultranationalist base. The party recently combined with the Imperial Reestablishment Party, a single-issue party that was common among older voters. President Komi has mentioned that the system we are under, and are transitioning to have served the people well and Japan wouldn't fair well going back to being an autocracy.
The chairman of the Japanese Purity Party, Takeshi Tezuka, has stated that the system that Japan is currently under only benefits those who are wealthy and focuses too much on foreigners and not enough on Japanese natives. He mentions that the current system that Japan is under was established as a punishment for Imperial Japan and the only reason the system still persists is the inability of those in power to change it. He believes that Japan has suffered under a broken system long enough and vows to change that for the betterment of the Japanese people.
Many people that are against Tezuka claim that he will also push the outside world away with a sole Japanese focus but he denies that he is against any nation that isn't Japan. He just notes that the current political climate of Japan focuses too much on the outside world and not enough on the internals of Japan. Despite the opposing stances, Tezuka is willing to speak on his beliefs, something he doubts any other party will do in truth.

It has recently come to our attention that a large numbers of refugees from the Corlaans Territory (Conflict Region), are fleeing the area. This communique is to notify your respective governments of the possibility of refugees arriving via the Mediterranean on unregulated vessels. Esserix asks that you allow the refugees ashore as to prevent any further unnecessary loss of life. Esserix will provide transport, medical care, and provisions for these refugees until they are able to be relocated to Esserix or Corlansa. These refugees pose no threat to any European nation and the Chancellor stresses that these refugees are fleeing genocide, and a tyrannical regime in Corlaans.
Note
This is only a notice of possible refugee watercraft and vessels, there have not been any reports to the Border Patrol and Immigration Administration regarding any refugees departing en masse thus far. Both Esserix and Corlansa are doing everything possible to prevent the refugee crisis from spreading to Europe and the surrounding nations.

January 9 - 125th Anniversary of Furstian Independence
Beginning with the traditional military parade, this year's ceremony included personnel from the forces of the Soviet Union (Cccp-), Danubia (Donau-bundesreich) and The hellenes league, in recognition of ever-strengthening ties between our country and the rest of the International Cooperation Council.
A much awaited highlight was the presence of Hero Cosmonaut, Comrade Major Laura Makinde, who gave a passionate speech.

"Our young nation has reached boundaries that not so long ago, were in essence, unthinkable of. 125 years of history have passed, which have carried our society through both noble and tragic events. But today, we can take pride and say that for 63 years of that same history, our society has embraced the common ideals of progress, unity and labour.
Our Socialist spirit has allowed us to write the first glorious pages of Furstian history beyond Earth. We are aware that this path will take us through greater challenges, in the near and far future, but the rewards of our revolutionary work will better the lives of future generations to come."
After a lengthy round of applause, Comrade President Rafael Ilario took to the podium, to announce an unprecedented project.

After a louder round of applause, aircraft belonging to the Furstian People's Air Force performed a flypast over Independence Square. The military band of the Furstian People's Armed Forces performed the national anthem as a conclusion of the day's formal events, to give way to other cultural celebratory acts.

Reformation of the Party
Today in a joint session of the Central Commitee and Peoples Chamber, the remaining members of the socialist unity party voted unilaterally to dissolve the party and place the government in the hands of a newly formed Volksmarxistische-Staufferistische Partei der Donau-Nationen (The Peoples Marxist-Staufferist Party of the Danubian Nations).
As part of these reforms, the peoples congress have voted to grant a number of new powers to the Presidency, including the ability to veto legislation from passing the congress when necessary to protect the nation or the revolution, as well as the ability to issue executive orders that can bypass the standard legislative process in times of urgency.
In addition, a number of legislative reforms have been issued to decrease the number of republics and grant more power of these republics to the central committee. However, in return each of these republics will now get more representation in the higher levels due to new reforms in the structure of the legislature, with the formerly unilateral peoples congress now being split into two primary chambers.
- The Congress of Peoples - 650 members, lower chamber. Represents the wider population of Danubia. Elected nationwide via popular vote using a proportional system. In the event of a tie, the president can break the tie.
- The Congress of Nations - 51 members, upper chamber. Represents the republics of the confederation. Elected at a local level in each republic. States allocated seats according to population.
The National Defence Committee and Grand Industrial Council have also been reduced to advisory roles, granting even more power over economic and military policy to the central government, in hopes of preventing any future far-right insurrection from attempting to dissolve the liberties of the Danubian people

Following the most recent tyrannical policies adopted by the governance of the Far Eastern Union of Soviet Republics, which the Orange-Bourgognian Government condemns in the strongest possible terms, the following decisions were made:
-1. It is henceforth illegal to travel to the said Soviet Republics insofar as the journey is non-essential;
-2. No companies or individuals from the Soviet Republics may be awarded grants or subsidies from the budgets reserved for foreign entities;
-3. Travel documents used by those from the Soviet Republics are no longer recognised by the Orange-Bourgognian Government; and
-4. The Government will start procedures to impose sanctions on goods, individuals, officials, and companies related to the Soviet Republics if they continue to commit these heinous crimes against their own people.

His Royal Highness Prince Edmund, Heir Apparent of the United Kingdom of Orange-Bourgogne, has pledged to become involved in a yet-to-be established organisation that will called the Institute for the Protection and Conservation of Nature and Life, or IPCNL for short. His Royal Highness gave an exclusive interview to the Westminster Times a few days ago on this very subject, the results of which you can read below.
The IPCNL will strive to rescue and protect species from extinction and further damage being done to their environments. It will focus mainly on the United Kingdom, but if other parts of the world are interested as well, they too can apply to establish relations with the organisation. A key task to be performed by the Institute, is to highlight scientific researches about the changes in climate and the earth’s environmental systems. It will do these researches in part by itself through a section headed by Dr Angela Williamson. Ohter studies will be performed by respected universities around the world.
”In my previous career as an active officer with the Grenadier Guards, I have experienced at a personal level what devastation humans can bring to others as well as to their surroundings. I fought to stop harm being caused, and I will continue to do just that, albeit in a new role”, the Prince said. This new role that the Prince will undertake will be twofold: first of all, he will become the Institution’s Director, alongside two others who have yet to be named. The other aspect of the role is that of a royal patron, which is more of a ceremonial function. The Prince’s private secretary announced that the a sum of Fl. 20 million will be invested by the royal family in the organisation, sixty per cent of which is destined to be spent on researches and new innovations.
Rather than becoming an activist shout group, the Institute hopes to become a respected think tank for the Orange-Bourgognian Government and other public entities across the globe. However, the Insitute also encourages others to think. They have promised to create a special award for the most innovative idea that contributes to the protection of life in the broadest sense. With the award will come a sum of Fl. 2 million.
It is rumoured that the organisation will expand in size rather quickly by establishing ‘panels’, sections that will focus on one particular aspect. The Institute is eager to take on experts from other nations, though they must have “an outstanding reputation and unquestionable credentials”. One such candidate from within Orange-Bourgogne could be professor Edward Russell, who specialises in biological evolution and how species adapt to new surroundings.
His Majesty’s Department of State for Nature has welcomed the initiative launched by the son of King Henry I. They have said to be willing to support the Institute “in every way we are able to”. The Department has, amongst other measures, taken a decision to grant a sum of Fl. 5 million in the first year, and then Fl. 25.000 annually.
Critics and climate sceptics say that the only interest that the Royal Family has with this project, is their bank accounts. However, the Prince strongly denied this. “First of all, I put my own resources into this Institute, not taxpayers' money. Secondly, the vast majority of our assets will be used for research, meaning that I do not profit personally from the wealth generated. In fact, it will be other entrepreneurs who will profit when they inevitably come up with new innovations based upon the research that we can now do. As I have no interests in these second group of companies, I will not earn a single penny […].”

STATEMENT BY THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Following recent events in Far Eastern Union of Soviet Republics, we have made a decision to remove all formal recognition of the government of said nation. This is in light of the new regime in the region which has enacted tyrannical policies againt its own people in the name of godless communism. As such, under the direction of Minister of Foreign Affairs Viktor Volkov, the Romanovan government has enacted the following:
Ceasation of all diplomatic relations with the entity known as "Far Eastern Union of Soviet Socialist Republics".
Any assets owned or affiliated with the entity known as "Far Eastern Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" within the Principality of Romanovskaya shall be seized with immediate effect.
Any documents issued by the entity known as "Far Eastern Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" will not be recognised by the Principality of Romanovskaya with immediate effect.
Sanctions will be placed upon certain people, companies and goods that are affiliated with the entity known as "Far Eastern Union of Soviet Socialist Republics"
These actions have been taken in solidarity with the Government of Orange-bourgogne. We applaud His Excellency The Rt. Hon. James Courtenay MP and those working within the Department of State for External Affairs of Orange-Bourgogne for standing in support of human rights, liberty and democracy.
