I've thought that part of the USA's problem is career politicians. On the other hand, government isn't set up to run like a business. You have elected officials and their appointees, and then you have the people who were hired and do most of the work, and are darn near impossible to get rid of because of Civil Service regulations.

So electing a businessman isn't the answer. He or she can't fire people or threaten them with firing. Well, they can threaten, but it has no teeth. He or she can't use business techniques to run government. Perhaps a more diplomatic businessperson would have more skill, and get further.

45 is a lot of bluster, and ranting. Maybe it made his business successful. Maybe his business is successful in spite of it. Either way, he's not uniting the public behind him. Some of us are laughing at him. Some of us are scared to death of him. There's a number who think he's awesome. That's also scary. What the United States are not right now is united.

I've seen lots of presidents elected, or wind up with the job because of so many resignations. I've never seen the populus as divided as it is right now. That's what worries me the most, and all 45 seems able to do is say he was elected and inflate the number of people who voted for him. He needs to let go of the delusion, and just accept he's got the office, and he has to figure out how to get people behind him, instead of yelling at them.

His business is less successful than investing the same amount of money he got at the beginning in the stock market.

Donald Trump maybe wasn’t anti LGBTIQ in public but when exactly was he “holding the LGBT flag”? I always saw him holding only one flag, a big one with his face and name on it and the textline “I am with stupidity!” at the bottom.
So he maybe did not attack LGBT people directly during his circus presidential campaign but maaaan did he attack women, “mexicans” and other minorities. But i guess that wasn't your problem, hmh?

That wikipedia article has a nice summary of specific points, such as promoting instability in USA, separation of the UK from Europe (thus weakening both), influencing countries dumb enough to fall for rejecting EU values (Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Serbia, Moldova etc) or just plainly invading countries it deems invadable (Ukraine, Georgia, the Baltics soon?).

Of course it doesn't help that in the 00s USA mostly disbanded its cold war era propaganda machinery in favor of "war on terror", whatever that is.

So for all of you above who "support Trump cause hes an outsider" or cause he waved a gay flag in public, I emplore you to read up a little bit about propaganda and totalitarianism (Hannah Arendt is a wonderful resource, heres an abridged version https://lareviewofbooks.org/article/arendt-matters-revisiting-origins-totalitarianism/ ) because I fear you've had the luxury of living in a relatively stable country for decades and thus lack the aparatus to innately recognize obvious bullshit, pinkwashing and propaganda 101.
