I've agreed to exchange embassies with Philosophy 115. We have had a de facto diplomatic relationship with them for some time. If people oppose the idea, the embassies won't be completed for over 3 days and can be aborted.

The region of The Internationale have invited Forest to exchange embassies. Unlike, Philosophy 115 we've not had informal arrangements with them before (that I recall). What to people think? If there are supporters I'll accept the invitation.

As you all probably already noticed the region The Internationale has requested to build an embassy with us. As far as I know, we have no previous diplomatic ties to the region. I looked this region up and their MO is basically far leftist nations. Although environmentalism is generally associated with left side of the political spectrum, I think all but the most far right political philosophies have room for environmental stewardship. Therefore in the interest of not excluding potential nations to our region, and having Forest associated with something it isn't really, I think we should not build an embassy with this region. Does anyone disagree?

I am inclined to agree. We should only build embassies with those regions where we've had a long association (and Philosophy 115 is the only one I can think of) or who have an obvious affinity with Forest. As much as Errinundera is left - wing I can't say that for all other nations here.

The points made above about establishing an embassy with Internationale, I am inclined to agree. I don't remember having any previous association with them, perhaps their is another region we could find. When the WA makes a best environment count or weather, we could probably find regions that way.

Very sad to see Forest rejected the request to have embassies between The Internationale and Forest.
I have been following the discussion about whether Forest should have relations with The Internationale.
One of the arguments against Forest having an embassy with The Internationale seemed to be that Forest did not have relations with The Internationale before, so should not have an embassy, which is an argument that seemed odd.
I understand the other argument though, that Forest should not allign itself with a region of a certain political persuasion so as not to dissuade other political persuasions from forming relations or joining Forest.
For me, It was never about forming alliances with Forest, but merely friendship. That's what the intention of the Embassy was for.
But the democratic decision has been made in Forest, and I will respect it.
Just wanted to get my point across, and why the embassy request was made, so thankyou for reading and I won't bother you further about this.

Well, I still honestly think we made the right choice, when someone came to our region The Internationale would have been one of the first things they saw about our region. However, it was nice to know that they took some actual interest in who we are as a region and, dare I say, our culture, and were not just embassy collecting. It certainly made me respect the offer a bit more.
Anyhow, I've found a region called "environment" it has 7 nations, most of whom, from there names, appear to be directly affiliated with the environment and trees. So theme wise they appear to be a good match. There factbook entry states they are part of the eastern roman alliance which I have no knowledge of. There regional message board appears to get almost no traffic with messages 200 days old on the first page. What do you all think? We definitely shouldn't feel pressured to build embassies, Forest has survived along time being moderately isolationist.
