Yeah it can be annoying sometimes, many proposals are fights between players with different ideologies or are gauges between players. I often abstain from voting on those with my WA nation.

Comrades. In Sons of Socialism it's been 8 days since someone other than me made a post that wasn't to do with Castro's death or the US election. Please help me save our fellow Marxist reigon.

Nava Siam was ejected for being an Authoritarian Democracy with poor civil rights.

Ive been struggling with civil rights lately... Sometimes I feel as if the right decision doesnt always align with civil rights.

As an extreme hypothetical, none of us (hopefully) would disagree that murder is wrong. However, by banning murder, you are limiting civil rights.

Sometimes the right call puts us in a bad position, and I feel like I have had a few of those in succession.

Anyone care to weigh in on this topic?

I struggle with this too. I say stick with what you think is right but try to be one of the following: a strong supporter of privacy rights, or a strong supporter of personal freedoms to act without government interference (burning flags, criticizing the government, having whatever religion or lack of religion).

I can say that better civil rights isn't always good, as I have another nation with civil rights over 90 but very low health and a very high crime rate.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I want to help build this region back to its former glory.

I'd like to take the lead on recruiting, and maybe forming a peace keeping unit designed to liberate regions under Capitalist control. Thoughts?

I'd telegram the founder or Grand Caledonia, probably the latter because the founder is very inactive.

I will do. Thank you.

Is this purely an "RP" thing, or is there a legitimate job to be accomplished?

So I recently started the "international incident" chain of issues. This has been pretty interesting. Was curious if anyone wanted to share what they chose to do about the problem. I also thought it would be fun to role play this one a bit. Below is an address to the Democratic Socialist Alliance and its member nations.

For the record, in the past I have let my citizens befall their own fates at the hands of another government if they violated the host nation's laws. With this issue however, I feel like this is a alienation of human rights.

Normally, given the option, I would sanction a nation to fix these issues, or extend talks to alleviate the root cause. But because this issue involves the direct abduction of sovereign citizens (CHILDREN NONETHELESS) of my nation, I cannot abide this blatant disrespect. Talks have been less than fruitful, and my citizens continue to toil in these death traps of mines.

It is with a heavy heart that I have chosen to take military action. In defense of my citizens abroad, I must commit to this course to ensure they remain alienated and safe. I am going in with a clear purpose of extracting my citizens. My military advisers have apprised me of the tactical situation, and we are in conference over the decision to strike now. Air superiority is key to limiting the death toll, so the main debate is hitting targets and minimizing collateral damage. We want to mitigate non-military causalities as much as possible. The end goal is to leave Brasilistan in a defensible state so that stability can be maintained and sovereignty restored.

I recognize that none of you are obligated in anyway to support this attack on another nation, and I wouldnt ask that of you. I would ask that you hold me to my word of restoring order and withdrawing my troops as soon as tactically safe. Meanwhile, I will continue to press for a peaceful resolution throughout this ordeal. Thank you fellow region members.

It's a job that allows the officer to poll the region. I think this may increase activity.

Wmtz is never in favor of war (and would have to dismiss the issue and look at other options, like a rescue program), but it recognizes the sovereignty of the government of Gimp Samurai and hopes that the attack will be as bloodless as possible.

Continuation of the attack on Brasilistan:

Today my advisors met, and we established a plan to destabilize the military command of Brasilistan. This was unanimously voted as the quickest, and least bloody approach to the liberation of imprisoned Gimp Samurai citizens.

With my inner circle reaching a consensus, we chose to strike at dusk so that any extended conflict would be on the tired soldiers from the long day of missile barrages. This action was acted on in an attempt to stem the tide of deaths on Brasilistans part. We have been getting disturbing reports of fratricide among their soldiers indicating that a coup d'etat may be taking place. Taking advantage of this added chaos was fortuitous for our fighting men and women.

Moments ago we received confirmation that the insurgency was successful and that none of our forces were injured in the process. Be that as it may, extraction is neigh impossible at the present moment, and we are asking that you keep those soldiers in your thoughts. They have been instructed to fortify their position, and make defense as long as possible. If those brave soldiers are listening, let it be known that help is coming. Survive. Live so that future generations of Samurai may know the sacrifices made today, and that they will have a living reminder of what may happen when good will and peaceful intentions fail. To those citizens isolated from your families, stolen from your homes, and living under the harsh care of a cruel government... know that we will liberate you. If need be, at the cost of those who swore to defend our homeland and now find themselves abroad.

It is a sad day when any man or woman need die, but let it be known that no Samurai will suffer unjustly at the hands of an oppressionist foreign government. I will not glorify the actions that were taken today. We morn these losses of life; moreover, the situations that lead up to this moment and these outcomes must be lessons for out children. In the hopes that they never need be exposed to this atrocity again I submit my intent to resign from my position as the duly appointed leader of this great nation at the conclusion of this conflict. Additionally, I will relinquish myself to the Regional court to pay for my part in this war.
