Yurdystan (Eglish: /'jɜːdәstɑːn/; Yurdi: Юрдьштан, pronounced ['jurdәstan]), officially the Kaghanate of Yurdystan (Yurdi: Кағанатть Юрдьштанат), is a landlocked country in Central Asia. The sovereign state is an officially secular but practically deeply religious, unitary constitutional monarchy, comprising 3 administrative districts. Yurdystan is bordered by three landlocked countries: Kyrgyzstan to the north, east and south; Tajikistan to the southwest; and Turkmenistan to the northwest. Along with Liechtenstein and Turkmenistan, it is one of the world's only three doubly landlocked countries.

According to linguistic studies, the most probable origin of the name Yurdystan was an agglutinative combination of the word "stan", meaning land, with "Yurdı", meaning yurt. In Old Yurdi, the word "Yurdı" meant house, since yurt was the only kind of dwelling known to Yurdi people at that time. The theory is that when Yurdi people had abandoned the nomadic lifestyle they started to referr to the area, to which they then used to return after their raids, "Yurdıstan", meaning homeland. This theory was further reinforced after the discovery of the Araratatağa's manuscript documenting the first usage of the aforementioned name:
today it has been over tweny pentades (100 years) since,
the name Yurdıstan had began to be freely spoken
and heard in the times of their brave brightness,
khaghan Savash-han Chergeshegreshe."

The manuscript states that Savash-han ruled around the year 95 AD, showing the approximate time when Yurdystan first got its name. Further studies have dated the manuscript to somewhere between 190 AD and 200 AD, further proving its credibility.
The current english form "Yurdystan" is based on a transcription of the russian word "Юрдыстан". This name was common throughout both the Russian empire and the USSR because the original Yurdi form "Юрдьштан" was used only localy by the Yurdi people.
