Latorik wrote:so what is the anti-air like

does it work on space capable corvettes or is it meant for in atmosphere fighters

well its for the fighters currently swooping over the city

or rather bombers**

galliots are corvettes though right

i have no idea

he insinuated they were rushing around and bombing the anti-air emplacement

Galliots are fast attack corvettes and frigates, drekars are the fighters I think

Latorik wrote:Galliots are fast attack corvettes and frigates, drekars are the fighters I think

i see

in that case

10 squadrons of bombers with a fighter escort each are deployed from the now-stationed SEP fleet above the moon. They rush towards the city as it was being struck by the corvettes.

So i realized how ungodly the amount of ships i have in my navy is, so i decreased it by a heck ton. Like, no way my nation will be capable of upkeeping thousands of ships during peace time. I don't think i've changed hte number since 8th grade.

Should I buff the clones? Or are they fine just the way they are? Idk if they're formidable enough to fight against the numerically superior forces other nations hold against Rothella. Like, I plan on having at least 300-400 million droids invading Rothellan territory from Aphus, so every clone has to kill 4 dumb droids to wipe them out, but the droids have surprise on their side.

I just want to make sure Rothella can survive against an attack like that, but still take a lot of damage.

Also, should we set up a damage and health system? I'm sure you guys understand but to clarify (because I'm really confusing when i talk), how much damage something does and how much health a unit has. I want to do it that way it's not like, this practically never happens but, 1000 turns of intense fire and the ship is still alive, etc. That way we all are on the same page on how much damage a ship or unit has taken and realistically determine if the unit is dead or not. If we do this we should set up a time for a discord call to make it easier and faster to discuss and we'll all have the time instead of forgetting a really good idea after having to go to class.

I mean personally I think it works better on a trust system.

Like you won't see a latorikan conscript necessarily weathering as much fire as a guy in power armor for example

Gotcha, sounds good!

Also depends on things like armor composition

like something meant for ballistic protection only is gonna fare pretty poorly against a laser weapon

i have a feeling i know where this sparked from

big ship durable and heavily armed and also a carrier while also having very heavy weaponry? :D

Mainstay of enemy fleet???

Some People on Planet Arcadia wrote:i have a feeling i know where this sparked from

just
a
bit.

multirole ship !?!?!?

Some People on Planet Arcadia wrote:multirole ship !?!?!?

The thing would have to be huge in order to achieve that. And it would be incredibly slow. Honestly, light carriers are better (in my opinion) sure you don't get to launch as many fighters, but a rapid in and out strike from far away and the ability to travel at a faster pace than a heavy carrier is good. Now, in a large fleet heavy carriers are probably best because they can launch so many and are under the protection of so many ships.

Also also, frigates are probably the best multirole ships.

^^^^

thats the point of fleets and different roles

frigates are like the utility and modular starships

Some People on Planet Arcadia wrote:multirole ship !?!?!?

there's a difference between multi role and having a super-heavy as your mainstay

Now, there are some pretty cool battle carriers. In my opinion the best one, from what I've seen, is the Venator class from star wars. ISD's really suck, they're good in ship to ship combat but they lack in airpower. The other problem is the opponent they were fighting, it's the equivalent of using a battleship against Somalian pirates.

Tarkin Doctrine is braindead

Latorik wrote:Tarkin Doctrine is braindead

Yeah. I mean, it did stifle most rebellion for twenty years, and if you believe in the theory that Palpatine took over to fight against the Yu zhong vong (Im sure you know who they are, but basically they're invading the star wars galaxy from another galaxy after the galactic civil war). Then it makes sense. Thrawn's combination of the Tarkin doctrine with light corvettes and better fighters made him deadlier than he already was after the emperor's death.
