Reform on Student Loans

In a reform in large part due to the circumstances of the great recession Carptahian Universities will no longer be subject to loans for students in largely unprofitable fields, citing a need for loans to be repaid to maintain the systems in place keeping costs at an equilibrium with the market. The largest sections to be hit are predominantly liberal arts, as they see rates of success within the field of study much lower compared to schools of business, science, engineering, math, and other set skills. While not cutting funding to the universities that have such programs, the loans seem to be a larger concern as to another potential bubble that could collapse in the future if non-repayment is not curbed substantially. While loans are taken under the assumption of repayment, loans will no longer be given to any student in a field with a larger than 30% non-employment within field of study rates, with the exception of sciences and arts within the public interest such as archaeology, museum studies, curation of arts/specimens. All other degrees that don't have an interest to the public's wealth of knowledge or benefiting the public will see less public money go to them.
