CUBAN GOVERNMENT APPROVES USE OF PLAZA DE LA REVOLUCION FOR COMBAT THRASHFEST 1996

    April, 1996

As the "era of reform", even sometimes called the "era of de-Sovietization" of Cuba is healthily underway, several international record labels, representing metal bands from across the globe approached the Cuban government for special permission to host a metal concert in the nation's capital, Havana, specifically in La Plaza de la Revolucion. Fortunately for the various labels, the government agreed however on condition that the event would be free and that a portion of proceeds of band merchandise sold at the event would go to a charity organization and in return, band members and their management groups will have access to beachside hotel rooms, free of charge.

Several bands from around the world would be playing the three-day weekend matinee, meaning that several passports that in previous years would not have been approved for entry into Cuba will now be eligible, not only for band members but fans as well. For the first time in the history of Cuba, passports from the European Union and the United States will be approved for entry. The idea of the event immediately bestowed a solution to recent economic inhibitions by way of leading off the tourism the fest will bring to Cuba, funds the Cuban state desperately needs. Hotels and resorts throughout Havana begin taking reservations from foreign fans in anticipation, wanting their rooms booked before entering the once-isolated island.

Thousands of Cubans form the nation's small and fledgling but steadily growing metal community that has somehow found a way to nurture itself and remain alive and well, despite decades of isolation from most forms of Western media, especially music.  Since the country has began to open up however, the community has only grown with long-haired and leather-clad teenagers flockin to small Havana record shops as the first shipments of CD, vinyl, and cassettes make their way in. After the music industry was nationalized in Cuba, the state label signed mainly cultural and traditional Cuban music acts and genres such as mambo and salsa, marring most forms of musical expression that were not culturally based to Cuba.

A full set-list for the event has yet to be announced, however rumors suggest a line-up never before seen playing the same event at one time. Fidel Castro himself announced that he would be personally spectating the event.

Declaration of the Abdulrahman Dynasty as Absolute & Eternal

The Abdulrahman Dynasty has ruled Oman since their ascension in 1945. Despite a temporary allegiance to the UAR in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the Kingdom of Oman has always demonstrated a sense of sovereignty and independence of thought, policy, and identity. In the year 1996, the Omani GDP reached $38,000,000,000 with a population of 1.6 million, garnering a GDP per capita of $31,666. The Abdulrahman Dynasty has characterized itself with a personal ideology only suitable and crafted by the royal family and is strictly unique to the Omani people. A proud people, the Kingdom of Oman has continually sought development and modernization into an advanced economy of business, finances, banking, architecture, medicine, and digital media. The Abdulrahman Dynasty firmly believes in the future and prosperity of the Kingdom by putting the livelihood and general welfare of the Omani People at the heart of all their policies and advocacy in the world. Having lived through a variety of political institutions, forms, and structures based on surrounding situations and environments, the Abdulrahman Dynasty believed that the only way to properly secure a stable environment moving continuously through the 1990s and toward the 21st century, would be to implement and secure an Absolute Monarchy via a referendum from the Omani people. For 51 years, the Abdulrahman Family has governed Oman based on personal leadership style and agendas; however, current Sultan Almoshtari Habanamru Abdulrahman V believes that the Omani people and State would truly be able to develop and modernize under the authority of an Absolute Monarchy; however, to ensure the voice of the people remain at the core of policy and development, Sultan Almoshtari Habanamru Abdulrahman V has authorized the establishment of The Omani Civil Council of the People (مجلس الشعب العماني), whose elected President would be the official Adviser to the Throne. In this case, it is multi-millionaire Omani Nationalist and supporter to the throne Mr. Qais Bin Abdul Munim Al Zawawi, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

As the Abdulrahman Dynasty has continually ruled over Oman since the end of World War II, a civil cult of personality has developed over time due to the continual economic and financial successes of Oman by direction of the Abdulrahman Family. With this cult of personality, the Family is never questioned on its policies nor is it deemed appropriate to question the actions of the ruling Monarch. The results of the people's referendum in April of 1996 indicated a 96% approval toward the establishment of Sultan Almoshtari Habanamru Abdulrahman V's proposal of the establishment of an Absolute Monarchy for the duration of his reign. With the aftermath of the referendum being peaceful as the Omanis accepted the decision of the vast majority of the people, Sultan Almoshtari Habanamru Abdulrahman V and President Qais Bin Abdul Munim Al Zawawi decreed that they shall continue the work and lineage of the founder of the Abdulrahman Dynasty Abu Bakr Abdulrahman.
