It's been a little while since I've played this game (used to be the nation's Requiem and Azai) anything different I should know about.
Not really. Depending on how long you have been gone, you will probably notice some serious UI differences. A lot more nation customization options, too, and a lot more variety in Issues. You can also collection nation cards now. The core game is still the same, though.
Been bout 4 or 5 years I think, what do the cards do exactly.
Absolutely nothing of any real value. But this is NationStates, so of course there is an entire sub-game built around it anyone. In reality, they are just collectable cards made for each nation in the game.
Example: (page=deck/card=181527)
You can gather more cards by answering issues. From there, you can keep the cards, trade them for other cards, "junk" them for points, and use those points to buy other cards. Not really much in-and-of-itself, but a lot of people like it because it is the first real "commodity" that can be traded on NS without being role-play only.
Personally, I just collect the cards of nations from the Coalition (see: page=deck/collection=948), but you can do whatever with them.
Alright thanks for the info update
I have been giving some thought to updating the region's "World Factbook" description. I still like the over-all message and tone, but the more and more I look at the color-coded lines, the more it makes me consider editing it. Any one else get that feeling?
The main reason I joined was because of the fact we're anti world assembly, as long as our resistance to it is known it really doesn't matter what else we put on there, your decision though
No worries there; that is not going to change. I have always seen the World Assembly, its manner of functioning, and its effect on players, as one of the main reasons this region and the entire concept behind the Coalition was created.
Has anyone else gotten the "MAD WORLD" I think, string of issues? It's a sort of Cuban missile crisis series of events that at least for me, ended up in a pretty weird one resulution ending... No choices and one heck of a narrative.
I know I have a couple times, but I think I either always dismiss it or the option I choose forces an early resolution. Cannot remember anything special coming from it, in any case.
Honestly, most of the chain issues tend to get so dramatic and over the top, I -- as a person who tries to answer issues as near-to what I believe as this game will allow -- usually just opt out for lack of agreement with any of the provided options. A shame, too, because from what I hear some of them are pretty funny.
It got crazy... So East Lubtukkistan or wherever came to an agreement to withdraw our nuclear weapons from territories near each other, show up for the summit where their Beloved Leader produces a gun and threatens my life if I don't let him keep his nukes in place but withdraw mine. But then my super spy from a prior issue lunges out of the shadows, kicks the gun away and tells Fearless Leader that he stole one of the warheads and hid it in the capital of East Landlubberstan so of he didn't want it to become a glowing green crater then HE will withdraw his weapons...
Is this the one with Brazilistan?
I ended up nuking Brazilistan.
I'd just like to say that the Jingoistic States of Armstrong's Landing just outpaced all of you in manufacturing capabilities by adding an actual metal lathe to my garage this week
Some leader of a different region keeps trying to recruit me to their side. In response I threatened war though. The Sovereign State of The Realist Polities is their name and they're with The Assembly of Sovereign Nations region.
A former disgraced member of this region ejected for inciting arguments and trolling in the regional forum. He is also not a ranking member of the Assembly of Sovereign Nations. I would advise you ignore him. If he continues, report him. In the meantime, I will try looking into some other methods of addressing the issue.
Darkoseiger would be delighted, once we've quelled a pesky uprising... or ten.
A fine offer! Why it just happens I have arranged a few days of vacation for myself in the coming days. A wonderful dinner to start things off sounds marvelous. Perhaps a few late night... events to help keep us all entertained, too? The esteemed hospitality of the Jingoistic States truly does precede itself, after all.
ATTENTION:
In response to wide-spread nuclear attacks, the Coalition of Sovereign Nations' nuclear response pact has been formed. If you are not already apart of such a pact, you are invited to join here:
Got any left-overs? ...or should I be worried about how "weird" these cookies are?
Ooga ooga.
