Man I just love Halloween.
Sadly, after that it's pretty much a long, boring, uneventful stretch until Easter

Stop by this week and play our Roulette Wheel.

Hmm. It seems oddly quiet around here the past couple of weeks. I wonder why?

Not sure, my guess is activity was unusually high during christmas season, then it returned back to normal this last week or two

Vote in our new poll.

Hi there! We are playing Higher or Lower here!

February already. Not long until Christmas! Who else has started shopping for it?
I found a bunch of mint-condition "The Simpsons" books in the second hand shop. They were priced at next-to-nothing, so I picked them up. The perfect pressy for a naughty child I know...

A casino game popular in Asia. Read our game guide for a better understanding.

The Sands Casino games make use of NationStates’ poll feature. This often leads to our games being slightly different to those in real casinos.

Baccarat

In Baccarat, cards ace to ten have a points value equal to the number of pips on the card. Court cards have a points value of zero.
The value of the hand is determined by adding up the points in the hand, then looking at only the right-most digit. For example, a 3 and 2 would score 5, or a 6 and 7 (adds to 13) would score 3.
Two hands are dealt, Punto, and Banco. Two cards are dealt face up for each hand.
If Punto has score 0 to 5, they are dealt a third card.
Banco gets a third card if their total is:

    2 or less
3, and the Punto score was not an 8
    4, and the Punto score was 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
    5, and the Punto score was 4, 5, 6, or 7
6, and the Punto score was a 6 or 7
With 7 or higher, Banco stands.

The croupier then announces whether Punto or Banco scores highest.

Craps 🎲🎲

A craps game is played with two dice. Players place their bets before the dice are rolled.
The shooter rolls two dice. If a 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 is rolled on this first roll, the game ends. If any other number is rolled, the number is known as the point. The shooter then keeps rolling two dice until either a seven, or the point is rolled again.
There are many kinds of bets that can be placed for a game of craps.
Pass bets win if a 7 or 11 is rolled on the first throw, or if the point is re-rolled before a seven.
Don’t Pass bets win if a 2 or 3 is rolled on the first throw, or if a seven is rolled before the point is re-rolled. Don't Pass bets get their stake back if the first roll is a 12.
Field bets are placed on a number before a dice throw. If the number comes up on the next throw, the bettor wins, else the stake is lost.

Higher or Lower

This is the simplest of our games.
The croupier pulls a card from a shuffled deck.
If the croupier first pulls out an ace or a two (the highest and lowest possible cards), the card is replaced, the deck shuffled, and another card chosen.
The player then bets as to whether the next card will be higher, lower, or the same value.

Pai Gow

Pai gow is played with a set of 32 dominoes as displayed below.

The player and dealer are given four dominoes. Each player separates their tiles into low and high hands of two dominoes. The player's high hand is compared to the dealer's high hand, and the player's low hand to the dealer's low hand. If both the player's hands are higher than the dealer's, the player wins the bet. If only one hand beats the dealer, the player gets their stake back. If both hands are lower than the dealer's, the player loses their stake.

Hands are ranked as follows:

  • Pair: There are 16 pairs, as shown in the image below. The tiles are shown in rank order, starting at the upper left, and reading like a page to bottom right.

  • Wong: This is a 2 or 12 tile with any 9 tile.

  • Gong: This is a 2 or 12 tile with any 8 tile.

  • 9 to 0 points (higher is better): For all other hands, the total number of pips is counted. The last digit of this number is the number of points scored. For example, if there are 13 pips across both tiles, the hand scores 3.

An exception is that the two "Gee Joon" tiles (the [1,2] and [2,4] shown in the top left) can count as either 3 or 6 pips, whichever results in a higher total. For example, a Gee Joon tile with a 4-pip tile counts as 3 points to make a 7-point hand, instead of counting as 6 points to make a 0-point hand.

If player and dealer tie, the winner is the one with the highest ranked tile, as per the picture (exception that here, Gee Joon tiles count lowest for tie-breaking). If this does not break the tie, the winner goes to the dealer. A 0-0 tie always goes to the dealer.

Slots

Our slot machine has three wheels, each with twelve symbols. The symbols are divided into four groups of three related symbols.
When playing a game, the first wheel stops automatically, revealing a symbol.
The lever is pulled to stop the second wheel. Players have a 50% chance of stopping the wheel on the symbol they want.
The third wheel stops automatically, revealing the final symbol.
Prizes are paid if all three symbols are from the same group, or if all three are from different groups.
